City Centre
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.

The 6 of us visited Kyoto & Osaka in early Jan 2019 (Project Oishi) and this place was recommended by my office team mate who stay here last year. The booking via the internet was easy and the hotel was also responsive to our request for all rooms to be located on the same floor

We booked this hotel last minute after a disastrous airbnb experience. Check in was efficient, rooms were so clean and beautifully decorated and the free bath salts, tea etc was much appreciated. We got a better price than the airbnb as well! Wifi was great and good location to

We don’t normally do hotels during our trip as we have food allergies, even with just a cup of latte in the morning at a hotel can be difficult for us. After our airbnb being cancelled due to the new law, we did some search and decided to book Tokyu Stay Kyoto Ryogaemachi Dori.

The hotel is great value and is very conveniently located near Karasuma-oike station, the interchange between the two main Kyoto subway lines -- making this a great base to explore all of Kyoto. The hotel is new so our taxi driver was not familiar with the location, but managed

A relatively new hotel, about a year old, it is fitted with many state-of-the-art amenities, including a washing machine in the room. All rooms are quiet, being situated in a lane off the main road. Walk 800 metres and you're in the main shopping district of Kyoto. Rates used to

When you only go from Osaka to Kyoto and back it could be ok. But the system is a little confusing so you are not sure that you can use it on all Kyoto Metro-Lines and all the Bus-Lines. We bought a JR-Pass for two weeks and had all JR-Lines,even Shinkanzen covered. Only within the big Citys you have to pay for the nonJR- urban traffic-systems, but they are normally not expensive.

You can choose to have daily housekeeping or no cleaning at all. During our stay, you could select full house keeping or limited housekeeping. There is a sign for each, which you place outside your room door.
