We stayed 2 nights and had two double rooms. The rooms are great, all well appointed and with everything you need. My only gripe was not having an English-speaking TV channel - this would have made our experience much easier given that we were travelling with teenagers! Beds and

We used luggage transports for each hotel we stayed at in Japan: Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Hakone. I can't say that the same company did all the transports. I can say that we never had a problem with timely delivery. Let's say you're going to Kyoto on Wednesday. You leave your baggage at the concierge or front desk by 1200 on Tuesday. Pack an overnight bag with change of clothes, toiletries, etc., and depart Wednesday. I can't say enough of what a convenience it was. Being encumbered with a 20-22 kg suitcase in one of the big city stations is no "day at the beach." Enjoy Japan. It's spectacular.

There is a direct bus from from Kyoto station to the hotel, 10-15 minutes with normal traffic but 30 minutes or more in rush hour. You can also use the subway (3 stations with the Karasuma line (green line) to station K08-Karasuma Oike, change here to the Tozai line (red line) and one more station to T12- Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae. There are escalators and elevators in the subway stations, so very easy with luggage. From Shiyakusho-mae it is a 3 minutes walk to the hotel, comfortable also in rain since the pedestrian way of Kawaramachi Dori is under a roof. In Shiyakusho-mae you should take the south exit to Kawaramachi Dori (marked properly with signs like everything in Japan).
