MUJI HOTEL GINZA is located in the center of the Ginza district. Here venerable department stores and renowned boutiques stand alongside brand-new startups and unique street-level shops, all vying for the attention of passersby. Make an excursion along the main thoroughfare and through the grid of narrow lanes that crisscross the district from 1-Chome through 8-Chome to discover famed establishments, shops frequented only by those in the know, and idiosyncratic shops filled with a dedicated spirit. There is even a popular name for this activity: “Gin-bura,” which means “wandering through Ginza.” This is a place where the old-school and the up-and-coming intermingle—from bars that eschew signage and long-established sushi restaurants to Japanese-style bistros bustling with chic patrons, spirited chocolatiers and ramen makers, stationery specialists and more—where new forms of the authentic are forever emerging fresh. Here we offer you a home base from which to take in the Ginza experience with deeper appreciation and enjoyment.

Great location but completely lacking in hospitality. Apart from the brand name and the minimalistic aesthetic, it is lacking in every way, and you get less value than the most basic hotel in Tokyo. It was a very stingy hotel, from lack of basic amenities to breakfast time and quality, and lack of service. We regret choice of this hotel. There’s really plenty of better choices in Tokyo. Room: - Zero drawer, shelf, suitcase rack, storage solution to lay out our clothing and other items. We had to stack up our packing cubes on the couch :( - Lacking in the most basic amenities, even when asked. No body lotion, shower cap, hair tie, body scrub/ loofah/ sponge, nail file, etc. Even 3 star hotels in Japan would have them available. Nope, not Muji. Even when they sell those items. - Stationery, only most basic notepad and pen/pencil. Again, despite being known for their stationery. - Mattress was so soft we could hear squeaky sound of the springs, like rollout beds. We also got bites around our ankles but not sure by what. - Facing a building, we had to keep the curtains closed the entire week. - Shower was weak and would suddenly become scorching hot. - Again despite selling towels, they provided only floor towel, bath towel and hand towel. There was no smaller face towel (not that it was a deal breaker… just… strange) - Toilet basin was clogged, but they said it was the design that water drained that slowly… (whatever…) - PRO: bathroom size was big (though shower size was small) Service: - Some front desk staff seems to have zero hospitality experience. It wasn’t a language issue, but more about not informing us of relevant info (eg we didn’t know they had happy hour), giving us blank face when there was an issue. - There’s no typical concierge service in this hotel. They have forgotten to call cab for us, and when we clearly had luggage to bring to cab, there was no offering to help us at all. Breakfast: - Time: it starts at like 7:30am(?) but they start taking everything away at 9:45am! Shocking… - The Japanese hot items are nicer than cold items. There is no fresh fruit - only some canned/ packaged kind of fruit cocktail in water or syrup. (We didn’t try it, was too unappetizing.) Overall food selection is very limited. - Only a very small area allocated to breakfast and is also open to public. So some mornings the space is very packed. Overall we regret booking this hotel. We expected more, having been Muji customers for many years. We were shocked at how lacking in hospitality it was by Japanese standards.

This hotel has a fabulous location in the heart of Ginza, a few mins from the Ginza station and easy walking distance from the main Tokyo railway station. The beauty of Muji is that their rooms are design statements. They pack an enormous amount into a small space. They focus on the details and make the rooms homely and comfortable with a surprising number of extras.

Ginza Muji is a great hotel in a fantastic location and a definite must do experience for us who love Muji. The breakfast is lovely and it is also great that the restaurant is coversted in the afternoon and evening to a space where we can hang out, bring food from nearby shop to get heated up and eat there. There is also a small selection of snacks, drinks (including alcoholic) to enjoy.

Amazing location for shopping and commuting. We booked a type C room with breakfast for 4 nights. I thought the room layout was nice but I wish it was at least a foot wider in the sitting and desk areas as it was not convenient when passing by someone. It felt like there was some scrimping in amenities like in the quality of slippers, lack of readily available body towel and aromatheraphy oil. I expect this because it is Muji Hotel and Japanese hotels provide the most extensive amenities based on my experience. I appreciate front desk staff who went out of her way to arrange breakfast for us on last morning before we depart Tokyo.

I like everything about my solo room at Muji Ginza. The room was small but it had everything I needed. The concierge team was very helpful. The location is great. My only complaint was the very limited selections for breakfast. If you book the hotel and it shows full please try from time to time as a lot of people cancels closer to the dates.

Almost perfect hotel. The pros: None of the Ginza hotels will beat this location. With 6 floors (including basement) of shopping and dining, and the adjacent ritzy and glitzy shopping in Ginza, this hotel tops it. It’s also not pricey for the kind of hotel it is. Food is not expensive and is very good! Service is good and the reception, though limited in English, isn’t that bad. Cons: The rooms are not PWD friendly. They only have accessibility room. And when that’s gone, that’s gone. There aren’t a lot of food shops around the area AND in the hotel, so you’re really limited dining before you return. It’s not a good option if you’re with a family in tow but if you’re alone or a couple, this isn’t a bad choice. Oh, and their limited freebies of Muji are also available in the lower floors of their Muji flagship store.

Wow, love this hotel. Amazing value, small rooms but so clever, creative and well designed. It’s located next to the store. Amazing base for a night or two exploring Tokyo. Loved it Beds are super comfortable, beautiful lighting and you’re right in the best part of Ginza.

I did not stay at the hotel, but just made a visit to it. The decor is very cool, with lots of chill art work. It is in the same building as a Muji store, so you can proceed to the store from the hotel.

If you love shopping in Ginza, this is one of the more central locations you could stay in. Steps away from the department stores and high end boutiques so you literally can shop and go back to your room to dump the shopping bags, and go shop again! The hotel is situated on top of the largest Muji store (6 floors) so buying drinks etc is very easy. The rooms and amenities are all Muji, drinks and snacks in the room are replenished daily, and they have some of the best room slippers I have ever seen. Staff is top notch, service is warm, and no request is too difficult. We stayed in a very unique bunk bed room (family of 3). Will definitely come back next year!

Very comfortable room with all the amenities you need provided - toiletries, snacks and even PJs! Great location away from the Main Street of Ginza so it’s quiet. We paid for breakfast on one day, but I’d say skip that as there’s better Japanese food elsewhere. I’m still dreaming of their cushy blankets.
