Quality hotel within 5-10 minutes walk of JR Hakata Fukuoka train station. Rooms were decent sized for Japan and had good amenities. Bathroom and shower had Mikimoto Cosmetics shampoo and hand wash. The shower is next to a bath tub and mineral salts are provided if guests want a soak. There is a Lawson opposite the hotel entrance. A Aeon max value supermarket is about 15 minutes walk away. Canal City shopping mall is 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast buffet was brilliant, esp the Japanese style egg omelette dish. One drawback is that there is no English version breakfast menu. The beds are firm and comfortable. Hotel readily provides firm pillows when asked.

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and rooms were decent for Japan standard. Stayed for 3 nights and it was a great base to use to explore Fukuoka. Beds were very comfortable.

The location of this hotel is ideal. There is a Lawson convenience store across the street, and it is a less than 5 minute walk to Hakata Station in one direction and a 5 minute walk to Canal City going the other way. Lots of restaurants, takeout and shopping within walking distance. Would stay again.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! From check in to check out, my daughter and I couldn’t find anything negative to say about this hotel. Clean, comfortable room. Big, clean bathroom. Breakfast with good variety. Location is just a short leisurely walk to both Hakata Station and Canal City. Lawson just right across the street. And the best part, staff so helpful, nice and smiling. Thank you Ms. Noa Hirajima, Ms. Egashira and Ms. Nakamura , for all the help during our stay. Will definitely stay again.

Four of us spent 5 outstanding nights in two rooms here in November 2014. Unlike other Japanese hotels we've stayed in, the rooms we had were huge. I had space for the first time, to open my 30" suitcase without anyone tripping over it. By the last night, the room was swamped with shopping bags and yet, no one fell over. We've stayed in the same chain over at Kyoto before but the Kyoto one was not as elaborate as this. The room had a bath tub and a separate rainshower area next to each other. I'm not sure what else could we have asked for.

The next thing you'd want to know is that you are 210m away from our favourite ramen place - Ichiran. It is just located on your way towards Hakata Mall. Before u cross the busy main road, you should see SUNPLAZA UNDERGROUND. Just walk down the stairs, then escalator and then stairs again, past mcdonalds and you should see it. Just 120m away, you would also find SUSHI ZANMAI (the famous 24h shop in Tsukiji Market. the menu comes in english and the chefs sure do speak enough for you to have a comfortable time) which takes its last order at 10.30pm so you can get your last sushi fix before bedtime. We actually took a cab a few times to the Tenjin area (specifically BIC Camera) which costed us from 800 and no more than 1200 yen with traffic. It is an okay walking distance to Canal city. Just cross a small road infront of the hotel and you get to a relatively big convenience store.

The staffs at the reception are very helpful. Despite not being fluent in English, they tried their best to understand our request to make lunch reservations at Dazaifu's Umenohana (I strongly recommend this place for an exquisite tofu lunch) as well as calling a few fruit farms nearby so we could pluck persimmons and pears. All in all, fukuoka was a great place and this is the hotel you'd want to be in.

P.S Parking is across the hotel and next to family mart. Y1600 per night.

1. No nonsmoking room , kids' body and hair(who Do not smoke) full of cigarette smoke.
2. Recommend parking lot charged 1500 per night and 10min walking, but about 3min walking has a parking just cost 800 per night.
3. Cars can't stop (no parking area) in front of the hotel, so you must pull luggages from parking to the hotel .

Response from RPHFUKUOKA, Front Office at The Royal Park Hotel Fukuoka
Responded 28 Nov 2017
Dear tsayyuekun, Thank you very much for staying at Royal Park Hotel THE Fukuoka, and also very appreciate to leave the message on the website. Regarding to the 1st action about a smoking room reserved that we could not switch to Non-smoking on the check-in date, cause of the fully occupied all the Non-smoking rooms. Hope to ask you the confirm or the request to hotel directly in advance to make sure. On the other hand, I’ve thought we'd had responsibility to take the smell it off with our best as a hotelier. Secondly, for the parking lot service, we show customer to contracted parking lot which are center and new-center parking in safety. Any parking lot around the hotel, it might cost less than ours. However, they've had complicated time table as may feel confused. Moreover, hotel does not take any responsibility even though a guest has an accident in others which is the reason why staffs do not introduce without contracting. Lastly, as to bell service for the luggage, we are deeply ashamed that we had to ask you to help the luggage in convenience before you move to parking lot. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by many actions during staying with us, and those problems will be shared to all the staffs to settle the conflict for the guest. Respectfully yours, Kim Front Office

this hotel is in close the the hakata JR station, approx a 8 mins walk.
the is a lawson (similar to sevel-11) in front of the building.

the room was clean but the highlight was def the shower-bath, which we feel was nicely done up compared to the deco of the room. the beds were extremely comfy.

however, we were roomed on the second level and at intervals, the odor of cooking oil flooded the room. this was with the ionised on and windows closed. i begin to wonder if we were roomed near the kictchen.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Royal Park hotel. We walked for around 10 to15 minutes from the JR shinkansen station to the hotel. It wasn't hard to find but it was a long walk with our luggages. The staff were nice but the room was just average. The cleaning wasn't thorough because we noticed lots of empty plastic containers on the toilettries container. I guess the previous occupants took the contents and left the plastic. Location isn't too bad, it takes around 10 to 15 mins to walk to canal city and there is a also a convenience store in front of the hotel.

ROYAL PARK HOTEL FUKUOKA:
Outstanding service and great rooms.
Conclusion first: we truly recommend the Royal Park hotel because of their outstanding service, very nice and clean room and convenient location! One of our better hotel experiences in Japan! Please continue reading for more details.

Location:
The Royal Park Hotel Fukuoka has a central location in the Hakata part of the city. Fukuoka has two city centers where as Hakata is one and Tenjin the other. The hotel is located about 5-7 minutes walk from the Hakata train station. If you are arriving by ferry you can catch bus 11 from the harbour terminal and this bus makes a stop at Hakata station. So it is very convenient to reach the hotel but public transport and by foot.

The Canal city shopping center is only a short stroll from the hotel. If you enjoy walking it is also easy to explore the Hakata part of the city and also the Tenjin part of the city.

Service:
What an outstanding service! The staff is so polite, nice and serviceminded. Somehow the crew of The Royal Park Hotel Fukuoka gave us this very personal and "homy" feeling. Also the staff at breakfast was so polite and serviceminded. The attitude and performance of a great staff was certainly present!

Room:
We had a premium room. The room was not so big compared to European size of room, but we think it was very spacious and nice when it comes to the size of Asian rooms. The room was impeccable clean and well organized with a lot of luxurious amenities. There were two bottles of complimentary water, PJ's and a small table in addition to the desk. The bathroom was very nice with both shower and bathtub. The shower was heavenly! The AC was working well and did not make much sound. The beds were great! For us they provided really quality sleep. Very comfortable mattresses, pillows and luxurious bedding. So very nice! So overall the room gave a outstanding and luxurious feeling.

Other comments:
Breakfast had a very good selection of both European and Asian cousine. Very nice and tasty. It gave us a good start of the day

We stayed here for 2 nights to explore Fukuoka. This is a very good hotel and we highly recommend it. Newly built and only about 400m from Hakata station in some quiet side streets it is ideally located. It is a short walk to various shopping and sightseeing options and is easily walked to from the station even with luggage. We had a comforable sized twin room with good beds and enough rooms for our luggage - not always the case on Japan! The room was well appointed and quiet and had an excellent and spacious bathroom with full shower. Perhaps best of all, we found the hotel had a small in-house coin laundry room with two washing machines and dryers. It also has ice and vending machines on several floors. Overall, nothing to fault with the hotel. In future when travelling in Japan we will be looking for Royal Park Hotels and hoping they are all up to this standard.

The hotel is good in all respects. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and functional. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good with fresh expresso available. The location is midway between Hakata station and Canal City (on a side street). If I came back I would probably stay closer by Hakata Station as HS is more livelier to my taste than Canal City where most of the shops are chains. But I have no complaints about the Royal Park. Staff are helpful.
