My husband and I stayed at the Bark House over Halloween weekend. We had such a lovely time there and will definitely be returning in the Spring/Summer for another stay and afternoon tea. We stayed in room 6 as we was supposed to bring our dog but as the weather was not looking great we decided against it. We contacted Gina just in case she had someone wanting to book that room but she said it was ok we could stay in the same room we’d booked and she’d not charge the fees to bring our dog. It was a lovely big room with everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable, we both slept very well. There is tea n coffee making facilities and even a wine fridge to chill your own. There is an iron and ironing board on the landing for all the guests to use and return. The guest house is ideally located to get to all the places we wanted to visit. Just a short drive to Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Minehead etc. Delicious breakfasts every morning too, plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble for Rick and Gina. Although we did not have an afternoon tea this time the cakes looked amazing. Looking forward to coming back and sitting in their lovely gardens. Thanks for a lovely stay.

My husband and myself were due to stay in April, but obviously had to postpone due to Covid. Rick was very accommodating in amending booking. The Bark House is quaint with a beautiful setting, cleanliness to a high standard. Rick and Gina were great hosts and looked after us very well. We stayed for breakfast and evening meal, food was good. Rick made a fabulous vegi curry, rooms are lovely with amazing views. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Rick & Gina

We really enjoyed the B&B - we thought it was really cute in its setting in the valley and in the layout of the grounds and garden. But we enjoyed being looked after by Rick and Gina, they made us feel very comfortable and at home. The room was clean and had everything that we needed for the couple of nights we were there. The first night it was dark and we hadn't eaten dinner so Rick bought us out some food and drinks to the garden across the road which was lush. The breakfast was included and was good, fresh, home cooked food. Rick recommended The Red Lion for dinner (although they have food available too) and the owners spoke very highly of Rick and Gina in return which says it all really - they're super friendly and good people. We were also recommended the Tiverton canal for a relaxed cycle ride which was perfect and something we wouldn't have found if not for Rick and Gina. We generally just had a lush time- we drive from Cornwall upcountry very often and this has become our layover. Thank you so much, Joe & Katie (early twenties)

There’s obviously something about the Bark House that makes us keep coming back! This family run business certainly knows how to make you feel welcome, Rick, Gina and Barbara all work extremely hard to make your stay enjoyable. If your passing by, pop in for afternoon tea, if the weathers good take it in the orchard otherwise there’s the lounge or dining room No doubt we will be back again soon
