What a wonderful weekend!! Arrived Friday afternoon and were thoroughly looked after until leaving Sunday morning. Rae and Ciaran made us very welcome and the B&B felt like home from home. Our room was comfy and spotlessly clean. The food was fantastic. We also had the evening meal which was better than any restaurant and catered perfectly for our vegetarian friends. We never left hungry! Recommendations were made for the places to visit and would certainly suggest The Big Pit Coal Mine and the Elan Valley is spectacular. This B&B is a little gem and definitely deserves all its awards! We'll be back!
It’s not difficult to see why this has just been awarded The Best Guest Accommodation in Wales for 2018/2019. It is little short of perfect. The welcome from Muread and Ciaran was warm and helpful; the room was well-appointed, clean and comfortable (not just with the usual tea and coffee but also welsh tea cakes); and the breakfast was as good as we have ever had anywhere. It’s about 20 miles from Hay, which is a bit of a trek, but staying at Rhedyn added so much to our visit to the Festival that we will happily return
We were very spoilt with the weather, and managed to do a lot of walking in the Elan Valley and surrounding areas. Lovely room, very well equipped, large bathroom. The food was amazing, breakfast and Michelin quality evening meal which we had on two nights. Made to feel very welcome.
Hi there- My girlfriend and I stayed at Rhedyn Guest House last weekend, and were blown away by the entire experience. Our room was beautifully decorated, from subtle stylish linen, to handcrafted espresso cups for the coffee machine. The room had all the modern features you’d expect, like digital tv and power shower, but also things like an iPhone dock that doubled as an alarm and speaker etc. I really wasn’t expecting that sort of thing from a little countryside guesthouse and we loved it. The food was delicious, we had breakfast and dinner and both were excellent! Ciaran and Muiread made such beautifully prepared dishes, you’d think you were eating in a fancy London hotel, but for the personal experience and brilliant company. We had a great time kicking about Builth Wells and the surrounding area, but honestly, the whole experience was made at Rhedyn. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We will return! Thanks again Muiread and Ciaron!…
What a perfect little place we have found. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly, shown an amazing room, treated to a delicious full breakfast (must try the fruit compote!). We had 4 dogs who were also comfortably catered for, the room entrance was outside making it perfect for late night/early morning soggy toilet breaks. Also a huge field just through a gate to let them have a run in. The room had everything and more, decent espresso! Wow.. and welsh cakes :-)... also a snifter of Sherry. The owners helped with local information and walks. In short this place is highly recommended. We will 100% be back next year.
