It would be hard not to get a more central location. Right in the heart of Misaki-cho and on the main shopping street, next to the bus terminal and just a few minutes to the ferry terminal.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and go the little bit further to make your stay a comfortable one. Free towels for the beach every day and provide any assistance you might need.

The room was clean and quiet and our family of four were very comfortable staying there for 4 nights. Breakfast had a good mix of Japanese and western dishes. They had everything that would cater to all tastes. After breakfast the dining room provides free drinks like juice, coffee and tea until 10pm on a self-service basis.

Will stay here next time when I go to Ishigaki!

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is comfortable and clean. Our room had everything we needed. The hotel is well located for bus stop and ferry port and the town.
We borrowed bikes and cycled to the beach.
Car rental nearby at the port.

Hotel is conveniently located, close to both ferry terminal and bus stop as well as shops and restaurants. Room was quite spacious. Not everybody at the reception seemed to speak English but they were always very friendly and tried their best helping you. And finally it always worked. I was recommended a very good restaurant which I never would have found on my own. Good and sufficient choices for breakfast. They provide washing machines and a very nice roof top terrace. Nice place to spend the evening - though you are not supposed to smoke.
To my point of view the place is really good value for money and I would definitely book again when coming back to Ishigaki.

After my two-day stay at the hotel, I'd say it's pretty amazing to be able to walk from the hotel to the pier (around 5 minutes). Why? Mainly because when you're in Ishigaki, you probably would look forward to several trips to the outlying islands (e.g. Iriomote Islands, Taketomi islands) and of course a few more water activities (snorkeling at least?). Then you'll definitely need to go to the pier for the ferry ride or the gathering spot. In this case, you'll find it so much easier and cheaper to just walk there. Otherwise you'll have to worry about the parking fee and an earlier alarm to wake you up in the morning :p

Unless you're planning to stay in one of those outlying islands, distance to the pier is quite crucial for choosing the hotels in Ishigaki!

Although the rooms in Hotel Cucule are not very spacious, it's neat and the furniture and interiors are up to my "clean and tidy" standard.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Ishigaki. Two minutes walk from the airport shuttle bus station. Ten minutes walk to the port where you take ferry to nearby islands. There are plenty of dining options, from restaurants specializing in Ishigaki beef to cheap eats literally around the corner.

The hotel itself is decent. Free wife, powerful shower, and well equipped to meet your daily needs. Our room is big enough for two people but the bathroom is a bit tight. Also, the wall is not thick enough to block noise from the corridor, though the place is quiet most of the time.

Staffs are great. Very friendly and attentive. Some speak better English than others. But generally speaking, you can get your need with the help of google translate.

Thanks for taking care of us and we will certainly come back again!

We spent two nights in this small 2 star hotel recently. Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful with our check-in. Their spoken English was quite limited but we were able to convey most of our messages to them when we need their help during our stay.

Upon checking in to our standard double room, we found it to be slightly bigger when compared to hotel rooms of equal category in large metropolitan Japanese cities such as Osaka and Kyoto. The bathroom was, however, very small and 2 persons could barely fit in there at the same time.

We could smell a musty smell in the room due to lack of proper fresh air ventilation and smell also eminated from the shower curtain. The air-conditioning unit in the room was also dirty and in need of a good wash.

The major advantage of this hotel is its' central location in Ishigaki town centre. It is located opposite the central bus station from which the airport buses arrive and depart. It is also within easy walking distance to the port where you can take the ferries to Taketomi, Iriomote and a few surrounding islands. There is a convenience store located next door to the hotel and restaurants and shops selling various items are easily accessible.

Breakfast was included when we booked our rooms. Variety and quantity was limited but ample to keep you full till lunch time later in the day. Bread, croissants, porridge (congee), salad, rice and an accompanying Japanese condiment and cereal is served buffet style. A small platter of ham, scrambled eggs and hash potatoes is served to you once you are seated at the table. There's free flow of tea, coffee and fruit juices.

The hotel also provides 2 bottles of filtered water in our room daily as well as 2 small packets of biscuits for a snack. There's a also a tiny television set.

Wifi was available both in the hotel lobby and in the room but signal strength in the room was fairly weak and connection was intermittent at times. Connection in the hotel lobby was stronger but our portable devices kept getting dropped connections and had to reconnect time and time again.

As a conclusion we rate this an average quality hotel. It can be a potentially much better hotel if management address the issues mentioned above.

I spent four nights in the Cucule and can't fault it. The reception staff were very welcoming, the room was very spacious with a comfortable armchair and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Although the bathroom was very small, it looked new and was functional. Mineral water was provided in the room every day along with tea and free biscuits. The hotel breakfast was also good, although to a large extent not what western people consider breakfast foods (salad and soup for example). However, there was always yoghurt, fruit and toast and a different cooked dish served to the table every morning. The hotel also has a great location in Ishigaki town, directly across from the bus station and 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars in the area but the hotel is still quiet. My only two criticisms (and they are minor) are that the air conditioning in the room was not very effective and that the hotel website stated that a taxi from the airport would be around 1000 yen but as I discovered this would be from the old Ishigaki Airport and a taxi from the new Ishigaki Airport is over 3000yen! As the airport bus stops right in front of the hotel, the taxi was a waste of money.

Have traveled many places in the world very few have had the exceptional service
and warmth extended by staff. They went out of their way to please. Great location.
Close to all restaurant and entertainment would not hesitate to return. As a matter
of fact we were planning on staying for one week it looks like we will be extenting
our stay for the full 3 weeks. Recommended highly. We will be back.

Best location. Bus center is in front of hotel, just 1 block from ferry terminal, many restaurants near by and shopping area. Hotel is small and convenient. I stayed corner of 5th floor, so it was quiet, but the wall is like paper thin. You could hear neighbor's voice. There is day-care center located 3rd floor, so it may be noisy cloaw to day-care center. The hotel staff made hand-made Ishgaki sightseeing information, it was all written in Japanese, but nice to see their passion to customer service. Room is little small but it's clean and comfortable. It may not work for elderly people. Breakfast was great.
There is rent-a-car company in front of the hotel, but they did not accept International Driver License, so I called other company.

We booked 3 rooms as we had family arriving from Tokyo before going to Johama island the next day. This is a small hotel, ideally situated next to the port and the bus station. Reception was fairly quick and easy. The rooms were compact but fine, with two single beds and LCD TV. Ishigaki is a quiet place so you never have to worry about noise. The bed was comfortable enough for a decent nights sleep. There is Wifi in the lobby and rooms, which was good. The price was reasonable, so overall good value.

Hi, you take one of the buses outside the airport to the centre of Ishigaki. They are cheap, you can put your luggage on the bus and they stop in the port just around the corner from the hotel.
