The condominium is located by the sea, 10 km north of Ishigaki City and 8 km south of Kabira bay. There's a tiny stretch of sand in front, visible when the tide is low, but it's not a proper beach. Better to take the car and drive to Kabira. There's limited public transport, therefore the best option is to rent a car during your stay. Traffic on the island is practically non-existent, except in the city, which makes driving effortless. Plus free parking is available in Nagura Village.
There is not much around - we always went for dinner in Ishigaki city. It didn't bother us, since we preferred to stay in quiet place. The staff spoke a bit of English and we always manage to communicate. The breakfast changes everyday (which is something to praise them for) and normally consisted of a soup / salad / toast / eggs, or soup / rice / several side-dishes. Compliments to the chef! Everything was tasty!
We stayed for four nights in a three bed apartment, which was quite big for the two of us. There's no room service but you can always ask for clean towels in the reception. The room has also a TV, armchairs, fridge, microwave, kettle and a small electric stove. The roof is all wood, which makes the interior dark but survivable. Some walls, especially in the bathroom, showed some need of renovation, but nothing extreme.
The ratio quality / price makes this a good option to stay in Ishigaki. We highly recommend it if you want to stay away from the city. And it's a perfect fit for families!

It was a little difficult to find the Nagura Village in the dark - the sign is quite small and only in Japanese. It's not the nicest looking of places - bit like a load of bungalows in a car park! But once inside your room it's lovely. Our room (E2) was enormous, with 3 beds, a kitchenette, a lounge area and a massive wetroom with spa bath. The wi-fi worked well, there was a TV that we didn't use.

We did have a couple of unwanted visitors (small cockroaches) and a welcome one (a tiny lizard) but that's fair enough for the location I think. The room was very clean.

Because the breakfast area was so small we had to book our timeslot in advance. This wasn't a problem as we had an itinerary we had to plan for, but would have been a pain if we just wanted to have breakfast whenever we got up.

The breakfasts were lovely. Day One was classic Japanese bento box fare. The waiter seemed very concerned that we wouldn't know what or how to eat (being a white British couple!) and hovered around us. I chose to see that as sweet rather than annoying as knowing the Japanese he was only trying to make sure we were happy. Day Two breakfast included 2 huge slabs of white toast amongst other stuff (yum) and Day Three was a beef burger! Unusual but lovely!

There are loads of beautiful (and often deserted) beaches on Ishigaki. You definitely need a car though.

When we checked out, the guy on reception came out to see us off, waving as we drove away and making a heart shape at us. So sweet!

My wife and I traveled to Ishgaki this week and took our dog with us. This is a very dog friendly place to stay, Duke was free to walk around with us and dine with us. We had a very good Japanese breakfast the first morning and a good western breakfast the second day. I was worried that the dinner we order for cookout would not be a lot of food, but was so happy that we didn't buy more to bring with us as we were very full, great beef!

We stayed here for 5 nights in and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room/condominium was spacious and clean. We hadn't realised that breakfast was provided so this was a bonus. My wife is vegetarian and each morning the lovely staff provided a specially prepared vegetarian breakfast.

You would need a hire car to enjoy a stay here as the hotel does not offer dinner so you need to drive into town and there is not a lot to see within walking distance.

The room itself was enormous with three single beds and was nice and clean (except for the bathroom smelling rather damp).

Breakfast was good on both days although you need to book a time slot in advance as the room is small.

The staff were friendly and very eager to help. No one spoke much English but enough to make sure we had a good stay and everything we needed.

Unfortunately our second night was a bit disrupted due to noisy guests in the next room. As there is no night receptionist it wasn't easy for us to complain about the noise.

My boyfriend, my dog, and I stayed for 4 nights at Nagura Village. We did not arrive until 8 pm on the first night when it was all dark and raining, good that they have a big sign showing the way in. The room has 4 beds and a huge bathroom with 2 sinks (very spacious in Japanese standard).

The breakfast does not have a big portion but it is very helpful for them to provide breakfast as there is no other restaurant nearby unless you drive 20 mins back to the town. I enjoyed the Japanese breakfast a little bit more than the Western one.

Some of the staffs were nice but not as friendly as I thought they would be. Yoshida san was very nice as he recommended where we should go and showed us the map, etc..

The sunset and star at light was amazing! It was nice enough to see it in front of the room. I would recommend to cross the road and go to the beach to look at the stars!! My boyfriend was able to see shooting star for at least 3 times...but not me...

It is not a luxurious resort kind of place, but it is very relaxing and clean.

Unexpected large room with three beds provided, actually it was small bungalow and car can parking just outside door, best choice with whole family to enjoy the holiday, homemade breakfast was very delicious, only thing you need to consider was the location, but if you were driving, it was not a problem at all.

We were travelling around Ishigaki Island on a hot, humid August day and called in to the SeaSarBox Cafe for a drink only to find that it was also a kind of Paint Me Glaze with a Japanese twist. While we were having a snack and a very welcome drink of iced green tea we were able to admire the workshop where a family was decorating some lovely pottery figures. The walls were covered in comments which had been painted by previous visitors to the workshop - so colourful! We were surrounded by beautifully painted shisha - a kind of lion figurehead which traditionally wards off evil spirits from houses - you find them all over Okinawa outside doors and on roofs. Watching the delightful lady who was guiding the family in their pottery experience she reminded me so much of a delightful art teacher I knew back home, even down to her colourful apron and passion for her art.

We spent a lovely half hour savouring our ice cream, drink and air conditioning before we ventured out into the heat again. The owner saw me admiring the painted comments on the wall and asked if I should like to add one - even though this was normally reserved for guests who painted the pottery. I was absolutely delighted to oblige. I don't think they have too many visitors from UK, let alone from Northern Ireland!! Thank you for your kindness to us.

My family stayied in Nagura Village for 5/4~5. Eventhough this pension is located in the seaside road, it's better to rent a car in order to reach here. I love the room which has clean and a little bit antique atmosphere. It is big enough for our family including 3 & 7 year's old children to stay. We enjoyed bbq facility for dinner and we could also go up to the roof of main building to watch stars at night. Above all, we really appreciate the thoughtful service of all staffs in this pension and we will never forget their warm reception. We wish Mr. Yoshida's family every happiness and hope to see you again~

The cottage is not in the city, but it was convenient to get to and from the city!
I stayed for 4 nights, and once you get used to it, it feels like you're close, and the sea is right in front of you, so you can see the sunset!
It also came with a BBQ set, which was also very filling!
The meat and sausages were delicious!
I was very satisfied with the great location, the great food, and the friendly, smiling, nice guy staff?
The boss? was also very kind!
The room I stayed in for 4 nights was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.
There was also a kitchen, which was very convenient.
The room was properly equipped with bags to put any trash you might have during your stay, so that there was no shortage, which was also very helpful.
I was also soothed by the cute geckos I met every day.
The futon was clean, the mattress was bouncy, and the duvet was thick! Both were perfect, and I slept soundly and comfortably every night.
Breakfast was a plate with side dishes

Rice, miso soup, dessert, etc., and the portions were just right, and the side dishes were so delicious that I thought they must have been homemade. I almost wanted to have seconds of rice.

Of course, they had both Japanese and Western food, which was nice.

The staff were all very friendly and tried their best, and it was such a comfortable place... [I was so touched

I was so sad to leave [Tears

I definitely want to come back!

Nagura Village is a place I highly recommend!
