We recently stayed at Club Med (July 2021). We are a family of 6 so had specific requests about room location & Kana from guest relations was so patient, kind and knowledgeable helping us during the booking process making sure all our needs were met.
We stayed in the connecting garden terrace- fantastic location with grass to play outside and a short 100m to the sand.

Due to covid i was a little nervous about how the buffet would work but it was flawless! The staff were always at the door checking temp's & mask wearing. The buffet was served by staff so guests were not interacting with any of the food. One thing that was amazing was there always seemed to be a staff member to assist with carrying food trays back to our table when Mum, Dad & kids all had their hands full. This was hugely helpful. The food was exceptional! amazing range, and just wow! food galore, will not go hungry!A selection of packet Japanese brand baby food was avaliable. All highchairs were cleaned well.

The kids club was so fun for our kids- aged 8,6,4. They loved the trapeze & archery every morning. There was no babysitting service for younger kids who arent old enough for the kids club. Our son cried when we left and has since sent one of the kids club staff a letter. He cant wait to go back!

There is something for everyone here, from yoga, to tennis, to a bush walk, to relaxing by the beach. You get a letter in your room of the list of activities for the following day. We enjoyed many different sports comp's of an afternoon.

It was a shame we went during state of emergency so we were not allowed to drink alcohol around the resort. They did offer 2 beers or 1 bottle of wine per person per day to drink in your room. I asked for the wine to be substituted to sparking wine but they didnt allow it. That was a little disappointing given the all inclusive price we still had to pay.

The resort was also very very quiet so apparently different experience to what it is usually like but it was lovely.

The night shows were always fun and a great way to end the day. Our kids loved the evening kids activity in the theatre followed by a little dance party.
Our son got stung by a jelly fish on the last day, the staff were helpful in providing first aid and following up with his ice & first aid options throughout the evening.

Kevin & his staff were great at mingling and chatting which makes the resort feel welcoming.

Overall we loved it!

As a first time traveller to Ishigaki, one of the islands of Okinawa, Japan and a first time resident of a Club Med village, I was unsure if a resort could live up to the reputation of a location, especially when that location happens to be one of the most unspoiled and beautiful in the world. My trepidation was unfounded. Club Med Kabira, situated on a hill overlooking Kabira bay, nestles itself unobtrusively into the natural surroundings and being a bungalow complex does not scar the landscape like so many high rise beach resorts in Japan that seem to pay scant regard for aesthetics and the beauty of the environment. I later learned that the staff regularly clean not only their own beach but the surrounding beaches that each day become victims of all the plastic debris that is washed up on the shores. This commitment to environmental concerns is part of a wider commitment to ensure that each guest is treated with respect, is made to feel comfortable and that their experience will be something they will treasure in their hearts.

I only stayed for three days, but my visit here has left an indelible imprint that has changed my opinion of what a resort experience can be. What impressed me the most was the commitment to the village resort concept that was exhibited by each member of the staff. They really did seem like a family and as a lone traveller, I felt welcomed into that family, felt a genuine concern for my well- being that went beyond fake smiles and forced cheerfulness. Here I can make special mention of Saya-san who welcomed me on my arrival and ensured, through her professionalism and organizational skills, that I could very quickly adapt to the unique style exhibited here. She was always on hand to help answer my enquiries and to ensure my brief stay went as smoothly as possible, relieving me of all stress and allowing me to unwind in the therapeutic atmosphere of the surroundings.

I swam in the sea every day, which even in January was warm and comfortable. I ate rather too much, as the food was plentiful, varied and delicious. I took a mountain bike around the area and could witness magnificent sunsets from the cliffs overlooking the bay. My most memorable experience was to go snorkling and swim with the turtles. I hired an excellent guide from the town, Shiro-san, who claimed to be friends with the turtles and this boast proved to be no exaggeration. It was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life.

I can highly recommend this vacation spot even to those who, initially like me, are sceptical of this sort of resort holiday. It exceeded my expectations and I hope to return one day. I may even venture a look at other Club Med locations, perhaps Hokaido. My warmest gratitude is reserved for the excellent staff, whose hard work and unflagging energy has kick started a new year that I feel positive will erase the negativity of the past two years. I really believe we can now say, “Happy New Year!”

The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, and a definite highlight. Thanks to Serah and Ahmed in the restaurant for looking after us in particular, but everyone was great.
We had never been to Club Med before and we aren't keen on buffet food, but I have to say the food was pretty good. The beach is beautiful and really clean, and was never crowded at all (in fact most people who had young children seemed to prefer the pool).

The drawbacks? The wifi is pretty awful, and I had to use my own hotspot. And the extras are super expensive. The snorkelling trip to see mantas was very expensive (around $150 per person) and we came home earlier than advertised (and only saw two mantas briefly). Definitely pricey for a two-hour boat trip in a group of 12. Other things like the crab or lobster dinner were so expensive we decided not to bother.

Overall the free activities such as the gym, archery, tennis courts, petanque (boules), table tennis, mountain biking were all pretty good though.

Stayed In Club Med Kabira - Ishigaki over the holidays and it was just incredible. Kevin and his G.O. team were always present and enthusiastic. The village was not very busy when i first arrived in early December which I really enjoyed actually as it allowed you to feel like you were staying in your own private resort. We did get quite a bit of rain at first but when the sun eventually came out, you got to witness the true beauty of this place. Quite breathtaking. The beach was gorgeous and you can walk forever. The water was so clear too. Thanks to Chef as the food was great day in and day out. Especially the Christmas dinner :) Can't forget about Kohsuke and his efficient bar team as well. We all know how important eating and drinking is when on vacation. Shoutout to Toshiya and his awesome reception team as they we're so welcoming and always there to help you if you have any requests. If you have the chance, take a bike ride as there is some beautiful places right around the corner from the resort to witness an incredible sunset. Thanks to Keagan and his sports team for always being front and center. This resort is an epic location for water sports even if you're not the most talented. Sad i had to leave but I would definitely go back if I had the opportunity!

The resort itself is located in one of the most beautiful area on the island. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the ambiance is very good too. The food at the restaurant was good.

Only thing which was very disappointing was the resort itself is very old (built in 1990s I believe), and probably never had proper reformation, therefore the room was very old too - I mean VERY OLD. The cleaning service was not good, the room was dirty - our kid took out one used slipper with a dead bug on it from under bed 5 mins after we arrived in our room. The bathtub was not cleaned properly, it was yellow (after I asked for a proper cleaning it came back to white color). There were cockroaches in the room. And they don’t refill the bottle water/snacks/drinks in the room if you don’t ask (we only asked for the bottle water after 2 days).

It might be a combination of us being very spoiled with all the good hotels we stayed and ClubMed Kabira being not so great but we did feel we could get much better service with the money we have paid.

My family of 4 took a wonderful vacation at Club Med Kabira. The ocean was crystal clear with fishes coming right up near the shore, and the resort was surrounded by many tropical plants making us really feel the island life.

Through this vacation we were able to bond as a family within the resort and enjoyed many activities together. The staffs were amazing part to creating a memorable vacation.

I really enjoyed the Relaxing Yoga lessons with Iryna. She was able to provide guidance during the sessions, and they way she taught the classes gave me a new found appreciation to what yoga can do for my body and moreover for my mind.

Thank you to Dileep and Poppy at the Bar for making us drinks and entertaining us. You always making us cold lemon waters after an activity was always a nice touch.

We enjoyed activities Yum facilitated including, Archery, Mountain Biking and Pool Aerobics, I have never seen my father more active on a vacation.

Thank you Jmin for the wonderful hospitality during our meals, we enjoyed your detail to attention, always accommodating to our needs and making us feel welcome.

Not only were we able to try out delicious local cuisines but there were a variety of foods, including authentic Thai food created by Check Nan, thank you for that, it's the best Thai food I've had in a while.

We also participated in some Amazing Family activities led by Kaede and Claire, which included Nature Walks, bracelet making and origami star making.

Thank you to Aoy for coming to ask how our days were going, making us feel welcome and at home during our stay.

We would love to come back to Club Med Kabira and see you all again!

両親がクラブメッドのファンなので、キッズクラブ時代からクラブメッドに滞在していますが、今までの滞在でこれほどがっかりしたことはありません。部屋、食事、アクティビティ、雰囲気はいつも通り素晴らしかったです。
しかし、事前に予約していた彼のバースデーケーキひとつも用意されませんでした。バースデーケーキを予約した際に、バースデー専用のテーブルを予約しないかと聞かれ、バースデーケーキ代もクラブメッド側で負担しますと言われました。私は「クラブメッドのサービスは素晴らしい!」と思い、両方ともお願いしました。

当日、19時頃にレストランに行くと、なんと私たちのために予約されたテーブルに誰かが座っていました。バーで一杯してくるように言われたので、一杯飲んでから19時20分頃に戻りました。COVID対策で20時に閉店することを知っていたので、少し急いで食事をしました。19:45頃、ケーキを持ってきてくれるかどうか気になりつつもきっともうすぐ持ってきてくれるも思っていました。私たちグループは19:50頃、バースデーケーキを待っている間にワインを頼みましたが、「もうアルコールは提供していない」と言われ、レストランを出てくださいと言われました。え....!?社内コミュニケーションというものは存在しないのかな?

リゾート側が席を用意できず、ケーキ一つ用意できなかったために、私たちが急いで食事をして、お酒も飲めず、無駄に盛 期待しなければならなかったことが未だに理解できません。もし違うサービスを受けられると知っていたら、喜んでテーブルとケーキの代金を払っていたと思います。リゾートがインターナショナルスクールの子供たちや家族連れで大変混雑していたことは理解できますが、約束を守れず、バースデーケーキひとつ用意できないようなクラブメッド・カビラは4つ星ホテルであってはならないと思います。クラブメッドが心から好きなだけに、とても残念です。

I have stayed with ClubMed since I was in kids club since my parents are a fan of the resorts, however I have never been this disappointed about my stay with any ClubMed resort. The rooms, food and activities and atmosphere was great as always.
However, they couldn’t prepare a single birthday cake for my partner that I BOOKED in advance. When I reserved the birthday cake, they asked if I would like to reserve a table which would be set-up specifically for birthday occasions. They also offered to cover the birthday cake expense. I thought “Super sweet of ClubMed to offer!” and asked them for both.

We get to the restaurant at around 19:00 the day of and what do you know, someone is sitting at the table reserved? assigned? for us. They tell us to go get a drink at the bar so we get a drink and come back at around 19:20. We eat in a bit of a hurry because we know the restaurant closes at 20:00 due to COVID precautions. It’s about 19:45, and I’m wondering if they’re going to bring the cake or not. Our group asked for some wine at about 19:50 while we waited for the unknown birthday cake but they bluntly said they don’t provide alcohol anymore and that we had to leave the restaurant. What the actual….!? Does internal communication exist?

I still don’t understand why WE had to eat in a hurry, not be able to drink, and get excited for nothing because the resort side couldn’t provide us a table and couldn’t prepare a single cake. I would have happily paid for the table and cake if things would have gone differently. I understand that the resort was super busy with international school kids and families but I don’t think ClubMed Kabira should be a 4-star hotel when they can’t commit to promises or prepare a single birthday cake. Super disappointed, especially because I truly love ClubMed.

We enjoyed an amazing vacation at Club Med Kabira in July. The location is stunning with a tropical beach that looks more like the Caribbean than what you would expect in Japan. Turquoise water, white sand, palm trees. The site is really special and the sunset bike ride is a must to enjoy the splendor of the location. The staff under the leadership of the chef de village Kévin could not have done more to make our family holiday special. Everything worked to perfection, the restaurant staff (Sareh & Ahmed), the reception, the land sports staff (Cory), the water sports staff. They all spoiled us rotten. We would strongly recommend a vacation here even with the threat of covid 19, as they managed to have everything in place to reassure us, so all we had to do was have a great and relaxing time.

We had a fantastic holiday here, especially our three year old who wanted to spend every day at the Petit Club with the amazing staff. I’ve seen them around the grounds during the day going on walks, playing at the beach, dancing, and they get their own swimming pool to splash around in. My husband and I could take part in many activities toddler free. We paid for one diving trip where we saw many sea turtles and one manta ray, but even just snorkelling just a few meters off the clubmed beach we could see many varieties of fish, including Nemo. Special thanks to Omar who was patient with me with my attempts at windsurfing. My hands got so damaged (?) that I couldn’t try for more tricks on the trapeze but it was worth it! The food was great too, and very well managed hygiene wise at this time of covid. We would love to come back, thank you.

We were completely blown away by the hospitality of the staff. Every staff member we met was engaging, friendly, and interested in creating a unique relationship with each customer. They would ask where we were from, what our plans were for the day, and followed up later about how we enjoyed the activities.

On our very first night there, Dogan (the food and beverages manager) and his lovely wife Jin made us feel completely at home, giving us lots of tips on how to make the most of our time there. They continued to come up and talk to us throughout our entire trip. Their warm welcome was truly one of the best parts of our trip.

The bar staff, Tohid, Melody, Rena, and Dileep were all wonderful, creating new and unique cocktails based on our personal preferences. Every night, the staff would come to the bar after their shifts and take the time to talk to the customers. Louis and Hitomi who were newer members of staff were lovely and friendly, and we had so many good laughs.

During the nighttime entertainment, it was abundantly clear that the staff love their jobs, creating an exciting environment that made people want to get up and join in the activities. Lance, the events manager and Yum, the sports coordinator were both excellent at captivating and entertaining the audience every night.

Julien, the general manager, was clearly admired and respected by all his staff. He was there to greet us every morning at breakfast, and was always still there during nighttime activities. He values his staff in a way that makes them want to go above and beyond, creating a unique and exciting environment for the guests.

A few points to be aware of; the reception staff (although they are lovely) seem to have a lot of issues with miscommunication. We were quoted incorrectly for the cost of extending our stay, we were offered late checkout which we later found out wasn’t recorded in the system, etc. They were quick to fix the errors once we pointed them out and were accommodating, but we definitely had to double-check on details more than at other hotels we’ve stayed at.

We would recommend not booking flights through Club Med IF you think there is a possibility you might want to extend your trip, as the flights they book are unable to be changed. We learned this the hard way.

Overall, Club Med Kabira was a great place to meet an incredibly passionate group of people. Our expectation going in was to enjoy the activities and while we did, it was not the main takeaway from the trip. The relationships we built with the staff is the main reason we want to go back.

I made a reservation on ANA from Haneda to Naha Airport. Is that the correct airport I should fly into?

Nope Ishigaki is quite further south east. You should seek for ishigaki airport. Naha is on the main island in of Okinawa. Peach Ana and JAL are the main companies
