We just had the loveliest weekend away at The Dairy cottage in West Heath Barn - the property was really spacious but warm and cosy and everything was immaculately clean and finished to a very high standard. Beds were comfy and every detail was thought of. It really exceeded our expectations. Even had a cake waiting for us! The little paddock out the front was great for our greyhounds to have a safe runaround. A lovely bonus was seeing the 4 cute alpacas which the hosts kindly spent time for us to experience feeding and taking them for a little walk. My 10 year old daughter particularly enjoyed this exciting experience. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, and gave us some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat which were all fab. We drove up to the huge open beaches and there is a lot of stunning nature around, very relaxing area. 100% recommend! …

West Heath Barn was absolutely perfect for our family (three adults, three kids - 10, eight and six - and a dog; we stayed in the Cart Lodge and its annexe room). Within five minutes of arriving the lovely owner Gill had whisked the kids off to feed her chickens, which they loved, but not as much as they loved frolicking with Gill and Dave's energetic dog Woody (guests have access to a paddock for dog exercising their own dogs). The Cart Lodge is fantastically well-equipped (and my husband appreciated the strong wifi). Anything we had forgotten - salt and pepper, tin foil etc - we found in the kitchen. The location is great - 100m metres to Pedders Way for a country walk, while I got in a few 10K runs around the area. As ever, the Dabbling Duck pub in Great Massingham is perfect for families with its outdoor play area and pizza oven. North Norfolk's stunning beaches are all 30-45 mins drive away. We also loved a day at nearby Pensthorpe Wildlife Park (great adventure playground for kids, fantastic ducks, not very pink flamingos). Eric's Fish and Chips is also a winner - don't miss the live candy making at East Coast Rock. At the rear of the property is a field housing Gill and Dave's (mainly Gill's tbh) alpacas, Charlie, Oscar, Hemingway and Huxley. Gill kindly arranged a feeding and walking session with our extended family, which was a priceless highlight of the stay. We can't wait to come back! Thanks Gill, Dave, Woody and the alpacas.…

We had a fantastic time staying at the Dairy Barn during the Easter holidays. The barn was super clean. It was very well equipped too. Nothing was too much trouble for Gill & and Dave, and the Alpacas were very friendly. Perfect get away for us, a family of 4 (children aged 9 & 7 years )....plenty of fantastic days out within easy reach, including Holkham, Wells, Brancaster, Sandringham & Bircham's windmill. An excellent place to spend a family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) holiday. The hosts, Gill and Dave, are very friendly and helpful with great local knowledge and suggestions for walks, pubs, beaches etc. The cottage is spacious and attractive with wood beams and terracotta tiles. Rooms are cosy, warm and comfortable. A well equipped, modern kitchen with plenty of good quality utensils, condiments, appliances, crockery etc. Modern, clean bathrooms with powerful shower. And if you have a dog, the enclosure is a great place to let them run around safely. We would definitely return.

My wife and I have just spent 6 nights in the dairy cottage and the accomodation was excellent everything you need for your comfort. On arrival a lovely cake and fresh flowers in the kitchen was a nice touch from Gill and Dave. Not our first stay at West heath we were guests there in 2019 when it was also run has a b&b but no longer available. We were lucky with the weather during our stay and my wife would love to feed the alpacas at the rear of the property most days during our stay. A good Sunday carvery at the Crown Inn at Gayton not too far from West Heath is recommended. Visit West heath with wonderful hosts Gill &Dave you will not be dissapointed 5*.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first holiday at West Heath Barn, so much so, that we booked our second holiday, during our first visit! When we arrived, we were delighted to find pretty flowers and a delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake on the kitchen table. The hosts, Gill and Dave gave us a warm and friendly welcome, and were extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with whilst booking our holiday, and during our stay. Our cottage was immaculately presented, and beautifully and thoughtfully appointed, enabling us to feel content and comfortably at home. The fully enclosed and secure dog field was an added bonus. Our two dogs absolutely loved romping around the spacious field. Gill and Dave have several alpaca’s, who are delightful characters, and a daily highlight was to walk past their field to watch them interacting with each other. Glorious countryside is right on the doorstep and we loved exploring the various routes. With easy access to the Peddar’s Way, we enjoyed walking into Great Massingham and had a few delicious meals at The Dabbling Duck. We also thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at The Cart Shed - their tasty bakes are also amazing! We would like to thank Gill and Dave for their wonderful hospitality and for such a fabulous holiday. We very much look forward to our next stay at West Heath Barns We will most certainly be rebooking future holidays with them in the future.…

We had a great week at West Heath Barn, from originally booking through to checking out (and posting left items back to us) the service, attention to detail, and personal care and communication from the owners was fantastic. The best service I’ve ever experienced while staying away. Having two young children, the house was very well equipped with cots, beds, high chairs and baby gates. The barn is beautifully renovated to a very high standard, with lots of little Homely touches. We were welcomed with fresh eggs from the chickens, milk and all the things you initially need in the kitchen. The gardens and surrounding rural countryside is lovely, quiet and peaceful, the local village is idilic and you are not far from great beaches. The drive to the beaches from the property is very picturesque. The owners have chickens and alpaca’s which you can feed and visit which was also a hit with the children. We will be back!…

Our weeks stay in “ The dairy “ exceeded all expectations.friendly hosts who made everything so easy and comfortable. The layout and design of the accommodation is very family friendly.everything of the highest quality and a beautiful outdoor environment. Abundant roses at the door and a great place to sit out to eat ,socialise or sunbathe. Quiet but easy drive or walk into great massingham . Beautiful countryside and nearby beaches. Our grandchildren loved the animals which we could see and feed . Highly recommended.

Having stayed at West Heath Barn on a few occasions before, we decided it would be an ideal venue for three generations of our family and two dachshunds for a get-together. As always the accommodation was absolutely first class and provided a great deal of space to meet the needs of everyone. Gill and Dave are brilliant hosts and were very responsive to any requests or questions. The barns are really well equipped with everything required for a weeks stay. My mother commented 'They really have thought of everything'! The dogs had their own safe space to have a run around in an enclosed area which proved really useful. The highlight of the week was the opportunity provided by Gill to have a walk and feed with the alpacas. Parking is ideal next to the barns with lots of space for all the cars. The location is perfect with access to two excellent local pubs and shop/café and endless places to visit and of course the fabulous North coastline. We will be returning again.…

Our third holiday here, this time I was able to bring my parents after not being able to do so last year because of Covid. The Dairy is a fantastic home from home with everything you need. Gill and David did everything they could to make sure my parents were comfortable and enjoyed their stay. We've raved about it after being before and this time they got to see why. They really enjoyed their stay along with me, their grandchildren and great granddaughter! Even if the weather isn't great (or affected by the fuel problems!) it's a wonderful place to stay, and you don't even have to go anywhere if you don't want to, to still feel you're very much on holiday and away from it all. The setting is beautiful and the accommodation the very best you can get with the best hosts you could wish for. Over the years we have stayed in both The Dairy and The Cart Lodge and can highly recommend both. It's an ideal, quiet location, to explore West and North Norfolk. Excellent if you have a dog.
