We are a family of four we stayed one night in a volcano view room on the second floor. The room was comfortable, but it is older and dated. We didn't stay there for the accommodations, it was for the location. The view is stunning!...More

We made reservations for dinner as soon as we got to the park (and after a Visitor Center visit), they only had options after 8pm by 10am... was glad the Ranger told us to get that done immediately. After a fun filled day in the...More

Views were great. Hotel is dated. Restaurant is mediocre. That being said, if you're here to experience the volcano, want a room with a view, and want to have a convenient launching point for frequent hikes, you can't beat volcano house.

The volcano house has its "rules". Our daughter was concerned that there was no doorman to help with the luggage. There are no TV's in the rooms. The desk clerk can be a bit snarky. HOWEVER Where else can you look out the window and...More

We had a room with 2 double beds...so 4 was no problem. The walk in closet could easily fit a pack n play or kids size air mattress if one of your 5 is a child. I'm not sure if they have any rules about extra guests.

1/2 of the rooms on the first floor face the parking lot. You can request a "crater view" room, but be aware that these "view" rooms are going to cost a bit more. Second floor has much better views. At night the view of... More
