The last place of the day was Big meadow. It was relaxing and mind blowing to enjoy the sunset and a group of home-bound friendly white tailed deer. If you can keep your eyes horizontal you might see some small birds and raptors flying around. Sit somewhere or lay down to watch the game of nature.

Camped her the weekend of 4/8 - 4/10. The price was great at $17 per night. Being early in the season the sites are walk up only, meaning you can't reserve a site online. The sites are mostly level but could require some small boards or blocks for an RV. There are deer, birds, occasional bear, and chipmunks through out...

What's not to like in this beautiful park? We went hiking on part of the Appalachian trail from our camp site in the Big Meadows campground. Went to one Dark Hollow water falls and got the upper view-no swimming there. Saw a brown bear along the trail-we went quietly about our way and it kept foraging and minding its own...

My husband and I were camping for a weekend, and it was a great experience, it was raining the night we arrived but the next day was sunny and warm, this national park has many beautiful views and the campground has every thing you need to be more comfortable. People were very friendly I took may photos because the view...

This is one of my favorite campgrounds and National Parks. I select this particular walk in site every time as it is the furthest out into the woods, quiet, and private. Except for the parade of wildlife visitors all day. I use and Eno Hammock system to camp in. The Park provides a picnic table, fire ring and a bear...

Stayed two nights on this campsite whilst driving in a 30' RV along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline drive. It was very busy on the Saturday night as you would expect, and to be honest the bathroom and shower facilities were inadequate for the number of people staying - found them to be very wet and quite dirty that...

We had a great time here. We asked the ranger for advice and he recommended a tent-only walk-in for us (we wanted to be slightly secluded). The site had a bear box, as all sites not directly next to your car do. I was completely paranoid about the bears, but we didn't have a single encounter, and just followed the...

The campsites were very well maintained, the staff was so very friendly and so are all the campers. The bathrooms were very clean as well. It was super convenient to all the hikes in the park and at a beautiful location. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back.

My family and I spent 4 glorious days and 3 nights here at Big Meadow and it left me wanting more! The bathrooms where clean and there where plenty to choose from in the area, the shower house made we want to remodel my bathroom at home it was beautiful, laundry services were fair and efficient. The deer were regular...

As a youth I camped in Big Meadows for two weeks every summer with my parents, and this was my first trip back in nearly 30 years. We booked walk-in site number 35, which is the first site off the parking area. Despite being so close, it was secluded and well shaded. This site does not include a bear box...
