Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This accommodation has to be the best ever. A comfortable spacious room with tasteful furnishing, large shower in the modern en suite with copious bottles of high end toiletries, plenty of beverages and cookies plus a coffee machine, excellent choice of breakfasts in the pretty lounge/diner all set in a modern well built house. Surrounded by fields and 1.5 miles from Hartland. So quiet. Ideal for visiting Clovelly and the stunning coast. 11 out of 10 for cleanliness. Spotless.

We only stayed one night, on route to Lundy, but would have loved to stay longer. We had a really nice big room with a super comfy bed and great shower.
Breakfast was excellent and generous.
We’d stay again if we were exploring N Devon.

Really enjoyed my stay, made to feel very welcome by Karen. The twin room was ideal, very clean, slept well, breakfast tasty and the house is a good base for a walking holiday. Local scenery stunning, wooded coastal areas and imposing cliffs, luckily with some {not many} coffee stops on the journey.

What a wonderful place ... Karen and her husband are so friendly and welcomed us from the outset. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the house is so well decorated as well. Breakfasts are to die for ... They kept us going until 3 pm each day! We thoroughly loved Copps Castle and plan to make another trip there next year.

Had a great time here - increadible breakfast - Karen really pampered us! It's just so British - and the quietest place you can possibly imagine - several miles of single track roads to reach it, very close to Hartland point which is great to watch.

The owner Karen Clark does everything to make you feel like the king and queen of the castle. She prepares an excellent breakfast, helps you figure out where to go, even provided us with a ride since we didn't have a car and it is in the country. Our room was terrific ---spacious, clean, with a great bathroom. Up to the standards of a first rate hotel.

What a great place to stay with hosts which can't do enough for you. After a long day on the coastal path there is nothing like being picked up by the hospitable host (Karen) and driven back to warm living room with an already lit wood burning stove. The rooms are great and the choice at breakfast is the best I have ever come across. Will definitely be returning and recommending to all. Keep up the good work!

Having recently spent a night at Copps Castle with my partner I can't recommend it highly enough. We stayed just the one night on route to Cornwall, and found it the perfect place to rest and recuperate after a long drive. Karen and Graham are brilliant, accommodating hosts and they are situated in the quietest of quiet locations. The breakfast was more than plentiful and of the highest standard, as was our room. A lovely place and lovely people, and we would definitely return.
