Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely host who, after our sleeping bag got absolutely soaked, tumble dried it for us! Clean facilities, plenty of space and great location for walking! The sunset was also pretty good :) Only thing to note is that the closest shop is quite a distance away so make sure you are stocked up!

We stayed in one of the bell tents with our toddler. This was priced very reasonably as it was empty rather than furnished, allowing us to bring our own camping gear without the hassle of pitching a tent with the ‘help’ of a small child! The couple running the bell tents (Tom and Vicky- Michelle and Michael’s son and daughter-in-law), were welcoming, friendly and communicated brilliantly before and during the stay. We parked right next to the tent, which looked beautiful and was spotlessly clean. It was bright and extremely spacious. The fairy lights around the pole were a lovely touch too. There was a fire pit provided with the tent and we bought logs from the campsite to burn. The facilities (showers, toilets and washing up area) were clean every time we used them and were regularly checked. There was lots of space for little ones to run and play in the camping field without being anywhere near other campers. The whole site was quiet, well spaced out and full of considerate campers. We were also very impressed with the bell tent- warmer in the evening than nylon tents, cooler in the morning and very weather proof (as we found out on one very windy and rainy night!). We will definitely be back!

The camping field was a lot bigger than we expected which was great as everyone was well spread out. Michelle was the perfect hostess and came around, early evening, to check we had everything we needed. The facilities were excellent.

A very well-run campsite set in rural Devon, the host Michelle is very welcoming on our arrival she was also able to recommend some of the local public houses in the local area for food, The facilities were very clean and tidy (Michelle cleans them several times a day.) There is a freezer in the washing up room for ice packs, also information boards on what’s going on in the local area, The Camping field is flat, and the location is very quiet. The Anchor Inn, in Hartland does really good food and drink. Will be back 100%

Had a lovely 2-night break over a very sunny bank holiday with my furry buddy. The site is simple, with clean well appointed services and easy to access. Toilets and showers were fresh and clean, plenty of hanging hooks for towels and clothes around the showers and sinks. Recycling and dog mess bins all available on site. Two spacious fields, lined with thick hedges for shelter with relatively flat and well kept grassy pitches. The site was fairly busy being a bank holiday but there was plenty of space and no pitches were on top of each other.

I think Michelle and Michael got fed up of seeing me last year. What a place. Peaceful, clean and tidy. This where I go to chill and relax Michelle and Michael are amazing hosts. Always ready to help. Ideal as a base to visit other places. Me, I just sit there drinking tea and read books. Peter

I had booked this after looking at the photos on the website. I had put the address in the sat nav and it took us down the most narrow of roads. Even with directions after calling the site the roads were not suitable for our motorhome of 6 metres. We turned into the site, saw just a field with no view and turned and left.

Sorry for your disappointment but this is rural Devon and the lanes have been like this for hundreds of years so not much we can do about it. The milk taker drivers cope with the lanes and they are much bigger.

The owners, as well as being busy farmers go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. They accommodated our oversize lorry conversion/camper. Facilities were spotless, and a good flat site. Blegberry beach and Hartland Quay were both walkable for us. Will definitely go again.

Host Michelle went out of her way to ensure my stay was comfortable at Pitt Farm Campsite. Shower and toilet facilities perfect and spotlessly clean. Within walking distance of the SWCP. Very friendly and welcoming site. Thanks very much - 10 out of 10!

We have just spent 3 nights in our tent at this gem of a campsite and it was perfect for us. 'Simple but of the highest quality' feels like a good summary!. i.e. no unnecessary frills. Lovely level field with freedom to pitch where suits; peaceful nights' sleep, clean, warm showers; a covered area for washing up and the use of a freezer plus a lovely welcome from Michelle - who was just present enough to give reassurance without intruding on our privacy. Fab location for coastal walks, and a fair price too. special mention has to go to Michael for introducing us to his much loved herd and their amazing robotic milking system. Will def stay again.
