Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic campsite close to the south west coast path so ideal for walkers. Massive field so nobody is squashed in. Toilet and washing up facilities were clean and with plenty of hot water.
Loved that, unlike many campsites, they priced the pitch for one person so I wasn't paying extra just because I'm a solo traveller.

My kids were going on holiday with their Dad so my boyfriend and I decided to have a little break just the 2 of us in our trailer tent. We have friends in Hartland so we looked on Google maps and found Stoke Barton Farm and Campsite. We chose it for the sea views and the fact that they allow campfires.
When we first arrived - we realised there were loads of kids - but we should not have worried as they were all really quiet and well behaved and there were some lovely families there too.
The only downside is that the showers are quite a walk from everything and were not very powerful but fine really. Also the toilets in the top field are very narrow and not very private as the cubicle walls are low. Being 5'10" - I could easily see over the cubicle wall (if I wanted to!)
The hosts were really lovely and I love how they don't cram loads of campers in and they are only placed around the edges of the field. We will defo be back.

Beautiful views, great hosts. Good location for the coast path. With some lovely pubs not too far. The site offers advice on taxis, the local shop will deliver snacks. An excellent community soace with freezers and a microwave. Great for those colder nights

We really enjoyed our stay the facilities at this site are very well maintained, and the toilets and washing facilities are kept spotless The management are professional and friendly people who host their site well, The grass is well-kept with huge green space, the pitches are spacious. This site benefits from remoteness but you can get all you need in the lovely farm shop so you will never have to worry if you need provisions. The location if you like a coastline which may have been as it is now centuries ago, this is the place, the coastal paths are beautiful with views seaward and landward that are fantastic the site is just ( 1200 meters/ 3/4 of a mile) approx from the sea. The hedges and grounds are so well-kept but still with their natural feel, with fresh air and the sound of the sea in the distance. Best camping experience, it was, lovely.

We like to take the caravan somewhere different each year however we are now here for the third summer running. It feels like home. There is so much space, great for kids, great for dogs, clean with walks and views to die for. The staff are brilliant and make you feel relaxed straight away. The little shop is wonderful and you can order fresh bread for each morning, buy coffees and cream teas.
If you have a caravan the roads are tight and follow bus route through village.
If you want perfectly flat hard standing pitches that are cramped and overlooking each other this site is not for you. If you want to be in the countryside and next to the coast, but still be clean, tidy and in a beautiful place, book today.

Such a great place - pitches flat and well spaced out, fantastic views, well stocked site shop with local produce (incl freshly baked bread), a nice saunter down to Hartland quay for more super coastal views and a pub, immaculate facilities, owners are lovely & very helpful. We stayed in a pixie hut, which although warm on a hot day, was a cosy retreat with fairy lights, bunting and a fan to help keep cool. We will definitely be back!!

This is our favourite campsite, bar none. Huge pitches and wide open spaces in the middle of the fields. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, sea and Lundy island. Very well kept facilities. A few signs with the ‘rules’ set out but all sensible stuff for a more pleasant stay. Lovely hosts in Helen, Colin and Kerry. One of the best bits is the the private path that gets you straight to the coastal path and amazing vistas. You will recognise the surroundings from the many films that are shot here, the area is that beautiful. Within hours of arriving you feel any stresses and strains melt away. We visit two to three times a year. So many lovely walks in the area. The weather can get a bit wild but that is all part of the beauty. Our favourite day is a long walk straight from the site. A few hours chilling and then a walk over the fields to the pub at Hartland Quay. Then dinner watching the sun set from the camper van. We hope to be visiting for many more years.

Our favourite little spot.

My husband proposed when we were roasting marshmallows during our stay in the Seashells Pixie Hut in April 2017 so every April we come back to celebrate.

It's so perfectly simple, with everything you need for a long weekend away. Facilities are always clean, theres a little shop (although not open in 2020 for obvious reasons) that stocks lots of local delights 😍

The location is just far enough away from civilization to give you that much needed break from the real world, with a pub a short and beautiful 15 minute walk away.

We love this place and can't wait to go back next year.

Amazing site. Very helpful staff. Beautiful views and walks.
Toilet and showers blocks very clean.

I was a solo traveler and they made me feel very safe. In the middle of no where and totally helped me recharge and reconnect.

Highly recommend this site.

I will be returning next year.
