Our favourite little spot. My husband proposed when we were roasting marshmallows during our stay in the Seashells Pixie Hut in April 2017 so every April we come back to celebrate. It's so perfectly simple, with everything you need for a long weekend away. Facilities are always clean, theres a little shop (although not open in 2020 for obvious reasons) that stocks lots of local delights 😍 The location is just far enough away from civilization to give you that much needed break from the real world, with a pub a short and beautiful 15 minute walk away. We love this place and can't wait to go back next year.
Great site with lovely toilet and shower facilities but because its so high up it gets a good battering from the wind. Great views though. Really nice owners and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return
A couple of days away and this campsite was perfect for us and our elderly dog. A friendly welcome, the site is immaculate and the peaceful, rural nature suited us. The views were to die for, with Lundy on the horizon. The perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down. A short walk to Hartland Quay with stunning views on the way, and a very nice lunch. Sadly dogs are not allowed on the beach which is a shame. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather, but I can imagine it could be quite exposed if the weather was wet and windy. Just go prepared. We will definately go back. Thank you for a memorable couple of days.
We visited as part of a family of 6. The site itself is really large. There are toilets and wash up areas located at various points around the site. The toilets are cleaned throughout the day, they even play music within the toilets and the washing area. Our only slight negative is that the shower block can be so far away depending on the location of your pitch. The shower block is located near the farm house itself so depend on the weather this can be quite a horrible walk. If you are going with a tent....a word of warning the site is located right near to the sea, it over looks the atlantic so it can be extremely breezy. The owners are very nice, helpful and accommodating. This is the first time we visited but we noticed that it seems that people have been visiting here year after year. The site has a small shop which sells fresh meat from a local butcher, freshly baked bread, timed items, chilled items...the basics that you need. I would go as far to say that you wouldn't need to go to a supermarket. Its is located within a quiet residential area not to far from the coast road. It is a good locations to get into Cornwall or back into North Devon. …
We had a wonderful experience at Stoke Barton Farm. Helen and Kerry were very welcoming and friendly. The site is massive and has gorgeous views out to sea. Toilets and showers were immaculately clean. The campsite shop open each morning and evening for a few hours was wonderfully stocked with everything you could want, fresh milk, fruit, yoghurts and all the basics you may have forgotten...catered well for vegetarians and vegans too. The information shed with maps, leaflets, freezers and even a kettle for a morning brew if we couldn’t be bothered to light a campfire was a lovely touch. Location excellent too... several pubs just 5 minutes drive/20 minutes walk away, gorgeous coastline and coastal walks on the door step, close enough to dip into Cornwall for days out as well... we went to Bude and Tintagel. Only very minor thing would be that the showers were a tad too hot with a little one. Slightly improved showering facilities would be very welcomed. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend Stoke Barton Farm. Thank you for a lovely camping trip.…
