We have visited Rouge on many occasions over the past few years and have no hesitation in recommending it. Janice and Paul and family are friendly, welcoming and provide you with delicious home cooked food that is all the better for its individuality and flair. If you're in the area go visit but make a reservation as they book up...

I hesitate to write this review as I do not possess the superlatives required to describe our delightful 6 night sojourn in Tocane St Apres. Our biggest mistake, we should have made it longer. We gained a wonderful insight into the French culture and lifestyle, thanks to our wonderful hosts, Paul and Janice. Plus, the hospitality and the ready help...

We stayed for two weeks with our wonderful hosts Janice and Paul who had great advice on where to go in the area. Tocane was a great base to explore the Dordogne and a lovely place to come home to each day. We had the two bed apartment with a big lounge and kitchen so we could shop at the...

Honestly we Could not recommend this boutique hotel highly enough. As regular travelers myself and my husband have quite high expectations, every one of them met and excelled by Rouge.... Fabulously quaint rooms, spotlessly clean, lovely pool, and all in a great location! Restaurant food is by far the best in the area, all home cooked, we could happily have...

What a relaxing time away in Tocane. Thank you Paul and Janice for being such wonderful welcoming hosts, helping out with whatever we may have needed. Stunning rooms, lovely and warm in spring. Food from the restaurant is delicious! Great spot to base yourself for some French Countryside exploring. Will definitely stay again!

“Delighted to find all areas sympathetically restored, all individual & romantic with modern functional bathrooms.”

“Rooms are quiet as they are to the rear of the property and thick stone walls protect you from street noise. However, church bells are heard at 8am, noon and again in the evening. Old wooden staircase must be used to access bedrooms - so not suitable for mobility impaired clients.”
