Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just checked out after a two night stay. Martin and Elizabeth really do make you feel very welcome into their home. We stayed in room five, the room itself had everything you could need, tea, coffee machine, hairdryer, fluffy towels, local toiletries, a comfy bed and nice clean linens. Breakfast, there was a choice and we went for the full English- delicious and served with a huge pot of tea and orange juice. Thank you for a great stay.

Location is great. Breakfast is great. Bedroom was small with little storage space - OK for 1 or 2 nights only. No rooms down stairs. Martin & Elizabeth are welcoming and pleasant but very inflexible. Regular checkout time is 10:00. We asked for a late checkout to 11:00 or so but they were busy with their own appointments, had to leave the house so we were out of luck.

Run by an equally lovely couple who were very friendly and extremely helpful. The location couldn't be better as it is just minutes from the charming Hythe ferry, pier train and some great opportunities for good food and drink.

Arrival started with a great welcome. Very comfortable beds, lovely breakfast, outdoor seating and fridge. Immaculately clean. Elizabeth and Martyn were extremely helpful and cheerful at all times. Great location to travel around, with local pubs and take-aways. Would stay again without hesitation.

I booked The Maples for my 80 year old parents as we were visiting my brother / there son. I can honestly say they have never complimented any accommodation as they have after this stay. As soon as they arrived they were welcomed and taken to their beautiful room, the choice for breakfast was never ending, which they pre ordered. We will 1000% be booking again.

This bed & breakfast is set in the centre of Hythe village. Run by Martin & Elizabeth, who are very friendly and excellent hosts for your stay. The food in the morning is of a very high standard and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are furnished well and the beds are very comfortable to sleep in. The price is very competitive and I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay for anyone who doesn’t have a disability that stops them going up 10 steps or more. Overall amazing place to stay!

Elizabeth and Martin have worked very hard to make this a home-from-home experience, lots of great little creature comforts like heated towels and a cute courtyard at the rear, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast to die for, and as Hythe is well served with places to eat takeaways (a one-minute walk!) they are happy for guests to use the breakfast room and even provide plates and cutlery! Highly recommended!
