Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not easy to find but a spacious venue with plenty of parking when you do find it! The staff are friendly and very professional. The tea and sandwiches were replenished readily. Portions not huge and scones quite dry. Apx £50. Smart room and nice crockery!

There were 40+ guests arriving in our group and they couldn't make one room available early for me as I had cycled there and needed a shower (despite having over an hours notice). Rebecca, Tracey from housekeeping and one of the receptionists were particularly unhelpful (all the other staff and the location were lovely).

The accommodation at this place, in Mulberry Court, is absolutely outstanding and funky. We even had a balcony this time. Lovely buffet breakfast included, even had vegan sausages on display, usually at places I have to order them which is a pain. The grounds are just stunning. To give you an idea how much we like this place, we were doing an Evening with Eagles at the Bird of Prey Centre (Herring Green Activity Farm) this is 59 minutes away!! That's how much we love staying at Hinxton. Only negative thing was there is no light on the balcony, we sat outside drinking wine as it was a lovely evening, but when dark we had to use our mobile phone as a light.

We have just used the conference centre for two days, and hotel for one night. If you are staying at Hinxton Hall for a conference, this is a really nice place to bring teams together. I thought the facilities were great, with a nice main hall, breakout areas and the evening meals and bar areas were of a good standard. We stayed in Mulberry Court which is a couple of minutes walk from the conference hall reception. The rooms are modern, a descent size and nicely appointed for a conference hotel. Nothing too fancy, just basic, but much better than a lot of hotels with a conference centre. Everything is within a short walk; from the car park, to the conference reception, to the hotel rooms and finally to the restaurant and bar. I really like that this place doesn’t feel too corporate, and it is fairly unique - all at good value for money. We had a group of about 60 colleagues staying on site, and there were no issues whilst we stayed. The food at lunchtime was extremely tasty and good quantity, and our evening meal was lovely. Overall I would certainly recommend Hinxton Hall to anyone planning a conference, with an overnight stay. I am not sure it is a place I would stay if I was just using the hotel.

it has clean rooms, it is very functional, it feels like a posh student halls of residence - it is what i would call 'functional' meaning that it is quiet, it is clean, everything works, there is one towel on the towel rail, there is a window (that opens), there is a desk and a chair - its kind of like a Swiss hotel without the Swiss-ness. Meaning that you don't keep admiring the quality, because the quality isnt there, its just normal. The most important part about this hotel is where it is - i thought i was going from California to Cambridge (thats what i thought) - but this isnt Cambridge this is 25 - 30 minutes outside Cambridge, so forget any Cambridge action, when you are here, you are here. There is no getting away from it. And there is very little to do around here. There is one pub - The Red Lion to walk to, it has poor service, some food and not much else. OTherwise there is literally nothing around here, except a lot of darkness. So if you want a kind of Buddhist type of retreat where you can completely immerse in your surroundings then here is your spot - you could detox and stuff really well as there are no temptations, no snacks, no candy just good clean air, darkness and quietness.

I have stayed here a few times now whilst on business and all times have been great. Staff are extremely helpful, rooms are great, spacious, well equipped and fast internet. I like staying here as you feel a sense of security given you are within the grounds of the campus. Breakfast isn’t too bad either, nice selection of anything you need really.

I had a pleasure to be a guest here for 2 nights. On the top of delicious breakfast, comfortable room with a nice big bed there is the wole area of the campus to discover. You can literally walk for hour and admire beautigul green gardens, watch the ducks and relax by the pond. Only 20 mins driving from Cambridge and reception can arrange and help you with anything.

Every third Saturday the doors are open for the public to learn of the work being carried here and around the world. Incredibly informative and enthusiastic men and women gladly explain in terms a lay person can understand, the new findings of their research and its implications. Great for kids too! Lots of interactive tables to extract DNA for yourselves and create a helix and see the achievements made so far.
