We hosted our two day wedding at Villa Medicea di Lilliano and it could not have been more perfect. Eric and the rest of the team were so nice, so accommodating and really helped to make the weekend special. The venue itself is stunning- we wound up having one wedding outdoors and the second indoors. The accommodations at the villa itself (we wound up using all of them) were not only gorgeous, but also so comfortable and convenient- they had everything that you need. We also served one of their winery’s Chiantis at our wedding and it was wonderful. I don’t have enough good things to say, and I hope that some day we will return to celebrate an anniversary or just to reminisce. Don’t hesitate if you’re contemplating booking either a vacation or wedding here- it truly is one of a kind from the setting to the amazing staff.

We chose Villa Medicea di Lilliano as our wedding venue and our friends and family have not stopped talking about it! The villa exceeded our expectations in every way. It's a great location - not far from the centre of Florence. The historic building and grounds surrounded by the olive groves and gorgeous tuscan countryside is magical in every way. We enjoyed our ceremony atop the villa terrace with stunning views stretching as far as the Florence City Centre (yes, you can spot the Duomo!). We served dinner in the villa garden and enjoyed a covered reception for dessert and dancing in the limonaia. But the best thing about this villa, is it doesn't matter where you turn - every courtyard, every walkway, each room is rustic and beautiful, making you feel like you've stepped into some sort of estate out of a historic book. I also cannot say enough good things about the team at the villa. Every person we came into contact with was so professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Their preferred vendors whom we worked with were all fabulous as well! A huge thank you to our event planner, Roberta, and the rest of the team at Villa Medicea di Lilliano! We will absolutely be back! The only negative I can think of was that we didn't choose to stay overnight at the villa - it had already been booked for most of our wedding weekend, so we thought we'd stay at a nearby villa (which was also wonderful!), but once I saw the apartments at Villa Medicea, I realized how magical it would have been to stay on the property and had full access all weekend.

My partner and I did a wine tasting and vineyard tour with Monica. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic showing us around the estate. The grounds are stunning and she was a great host. The wine tasting was lovely and great value at 40 EUR each, we had 4 wines and some cheese and cured meat. She was also very accommodating to our dietary requirements and made a delicious vegan option for my partner. Only 15min in a cab from the centre or Florence, this is a great experience for people wanting to learn a little more about the wine Industry in the Tuscan countryside.

We recently had our wedding here, after planning since 2019 and with a COVID delay, it is very safe to say... it was well worth the wait.

Pictures, videos and even our own memories sometimes do not do this stunning venue justice. It is truly breathtaking, with beauty and history in every corner you look.

Having our friends and family stay with us onsite for the week was incredibly special and even without the wedding day - simply the trip and accommodation alone made it the holiday of a life time.

We dealt with many of the team throughout the 3 years planning however Marina helped the most throughout the process and everybody was always extremely helpful.

The location, setting and views evoke so much emotion and it is truly the most perfect backdrop for a wedding. Our guests were blown away and don't stop talking about it!

We can't wait to return in the future, Villa Medicea di Lilliano holds a special place in our hearts. xx

“The wedding against which we will compare all weddings,” was the response of many of our guests. Not because it was extravagant or over the top, but because it was relaxed perfection. After two years of delays due to Covid, we finally had our wedding at the Villa. Roberta, our on-site wedding coordinator, was helpful throughout, being the consummate guide of what was available and leading us through the many changes and delays caused by Covid, and at each step taking care of every detail. The Villa is a wonderful site with breathtaking views and splendid architectural features far from the maddening crowd among vineyards and olive groves. Our intimate gathering was just the right size, filling the accommodations at the Villa but not requiring anyone to stay elsewhere. The accommodations are wonderful, with the flexibility offered by full kitchens and other facilities. We checked in on Monday, had the wedding on Wednesday, and checked out on Friday, giving everyone a full five days to relax, have a picnic in the vineyards, explore Tuscany, or take a jaunt into nearby Florence. And the staff, especially Roberta, was there throughout to assist, recommend, set up trips to local restaurants, and keep everyone comfortable. The continental breakfast delivered each morning was delightful and filling. But it all paled in comparison to the wedding day - so picturesque, well organized (even with plans in case of poor weather that we did not need), and leaving memories for a lifetime. And for many, it was integrated into a longer trip in the area and beyond. Five stars is simply not enough.

While I have no doubt those who have/attend weddings are blown away by this property, as they can actually access the areas pictured on the website, as a hotel stay the website is highly misleading as you have no access to the areas pictured which are presented as the hotel / villa itself. We stayed at several properties in the area and this was overpriced for what was offered. The villa pictured is reserved for the family living there and for weddings/events, and hotel guests cannot access it at all except for a 10 minute tour by the (very lovely) staff. First, the villa you stay in is nothing like the main house, although the rooms are very nice. Second, the pool is small and beside a parking lot and some farm machinery. Third, you have to make your own breakfast with ingredients left hanging outside in a bag. This costs 24 euros and consists of about 10 euros worth of groceries (eggs, milk, packaged cheese slices, etc.). Fourth, there are no staff on site - you have to walk down the road a couple minutes to reach reception which is not open all the time. I spent a lot of time planning our trip and choosing hotels, and am quite upset and somewhat scammed by this hotel. At first I thought they perhaps were not aware that they were being misleading, but the consensus among the guests we met convinced me that they have been told / are aware. We honestly felt swindled and deliberately misled, and other guests we spoke to felt the same. Would not advise anyone to stay here.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for sharing your review. I am very sorry to read this negative feedback from your stay with us! I cannot identify unfortunately by the username which is your reservation, I would love to speak directly to you to offer our apologies. May we have your last name and dates? or can you write an email to us to info@medicivilla.com? I apologize if there was a misunderstanding that the Historical Villa was part of the accommodations. We have this section separated in our website and when clicking on the Accommodation section we have the accurate pictures of the villas we have with each name and description. The Historical Villa is part of our Wine Estate, related mainly to the events and wine tours we offer in the property, that is why it is shown in the main page of the website but no specifically on the Accommodation part. As per breakfast service, we would have loved to know during your stay you were not satisfied to personalize the service for you. Our reception is open everyday from 8am to 11pm, and you can call from all the villas using the telephone at disposal or contact us via Whats App without the need to pass by the reception phisically if not wanted. We also have an emergency phone number for the night when the reception is closed. We do care a lot about our guests satisfaction. Please provide us a direct contact number so we can speak to you to understand better why you couldn't be assisted by our staff and the points mentioned in your review. Thank you and best regards, Marina

We loved our stay at the Medici Villa of Lilliano! We arrived in Florence and then took a bus from the city center to Antella and had the most amazing dinner for our first night in Italy. After that, we took a short (3 minute) taxi from Antella to the estate, where all of our expectations were surpassed! The instructions to get in were clear, our room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped, and the bathroom area had an amazing shower and bathtub perfect for drinking wine and reading. The breakfast in the mornings were generous and delicious, we walked to Grassina easily for our meals, and we spent time walking through the vineyards. Lastly, the wine tour was so great, and seeing the full estate is well worth it! We bought bottles of wine and olive oil to ship back to the states! We cannot wait to come back here - it is extremely high value for the price, and we would have stayed for longer if we had known how peaceful and therapeutic it would be! The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and so welcome. A truly perfect stay.

My group (12 of us) booked a private tour of the winery followed by a wine tasting and lite lunch. The grounds of the winery were breathtaking and rich with history. The wines we sampled were incredible (we did leave the tour with a few bottles) and the lite lunch was anything but lite - meats and cheeses, bread, lasagna and dessert. I. highly recommend visiting.

My girlfriend and her family were vacationing in Italy and I wanted to surprise her by arriving unannounced and asking her to marry me. When I looked at their plans and saw they would be staying at a gorgeous Villa in the Chianti Region - this seemed like the best place for my surprise. Having never been to Italy and not knowing any Italian I was concerned about communicating my idea clearly with the staff at the winery.
With one email to Marina - all of my worries were set at ease. She not only assured me the plan was possible, but she had many ideas on how to make it unforgettable. Her co-worker Laura was available to email me when she was not available, and between the three of us we designed the plan to surprise my now fiancé.
The plan was to bring my girlfriend and family on a "tour" of the winery and their beautiful terrace that overlooks Florence. On the terrace I was hidden in a staff kitchen where I could hear the tour taking place. I was able to walk out and surprise her and propose in one of the most beautiful locations we both have seen.

EVERYONE we met from the vineyard was BEYOND helpful, courteous, and exceptional at their jobs. I am certain I was being a worried pain in the butt, but they NEVER made me feel that way and were only supportive and helpful the entire time.

Outside of all of that amazingness, the property was beyond any expectations I could have ever had (see my pictures). We stayed at the main Villa and her family was in a large villa just down the hill towards Grassina. All amenities were maticulously maintained, and no detail seemed to be left out.

I would 1000% recommend Villa Medicea di Lilliano for any trips, plans, weddings, you name it. Such a wonderful experience. I simply can not thank them enough!!!!

We were there for a wedding of my daughter. Everything was amazing, very well organized by Ciara. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and it was a great pleasure to work with her.
The villa was great, beginning with greeters/front desc and a room was huge and spotless. Axially it was an apartment with two floors full of kitchen supplies and very comfy bedroom. The linen was so crispy white and pillows so soft.
Can't wait to go back. Miss this place terribly.
Thank you so very much for making us so happy and having absolutely amazing wedding.
So long guys!!!
Can not appreciate enough the whole staff and administration of this wonderful facility.
