Four of us stayed here - some for two nights and some for three nights – and we enjoyed it. We chose the Kings Arms because it was one of the few places in the Wincanton area which did dinner on a Sunday evening, and we were pleased with our choice. It’s still got a pubby feel with proper beer...

Small hotel rather than classic country pub. Rooms have been modernised, and are fine rather than having any "wow" factor. Main bar has also been modernised, and has slightly missed the mark - it is neither homely country pub nor chic boutique hotel, and had little atmosphere. Very well cooked breakfast.

Really enjoyed the food which was excellent value for the money and the young lady who served us was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend this venue for Lunch and Dinner, but make sure you book in advance as it is very popular.

I've been here a few times recently for various day/evening reasons. I find the welcome no existant/rude and, although my first visit had great food, the food has mostly been pretty disappointing and not up to the promise. I was also overcharged, twice! There are quite a few great places around I probably will avoid here in future. Try Queens...

Whilst staying with friends near to Charleton Horethorne, we were treated to lunch on Boxing Day at the Kings Arms. Lovely welcoming staff, friendly but not over-facing. Duck confit was one of the best dishes I have eaten for a long time. Deserts also very good and not small!! I would definitely recommend this lovely place.

The setting and building are gorgeous, clean and very smart. I've been here quite a few times now firstlyfor a top rate meal about 2yrs ago. More recently for evening drinks, an evening meal, Sunday lunch and latterly just coffee. Every time the initial welcome has been virtually or totally non existent. The first time aside, the service has been...

We have just enjoyed a superb Christmas company meal at the delightful Kings Arms. The quality of the food and service was second to none considering this was one very large party. This is a luxurious country hotel and pub with no pretence and the rooms are beautiful our service overall in all areas was of the highest standard. Thank you...

Very warm and welcoming, has a lovely ambiance. We have eaten there previously and couldn't fault it so decided to return for a pre Christmas meal which was disappointing. During our meal no one returned to ask if everything was alright ..Some of the vegetables were burnt the roast potatoes varied, some were crisp some appeared to have been kept...

Had a one night break to do Xmas shopping and to celebrate my dads birthday, what can I say, 10 out of 10 excellent food, both evening and breakfast, the rooms are decorated to an extremely high standard and are spotlessly clean, nice touches include a DVD player, The staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed...
