Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent situation & a beautiful building. It was very comfortable & relaxing. The staff were kind, helpful & welcoming. They always spoke when passing. The food & service were excellent. The best cooked breakfast that we have encountered in similar hotels. The temperature of the swimming pool was slightly cool, while the jacuzzi was hot. All round a very enjoyable visit!

We had an absolutely brilliant stay. The hotel is stunning, the food amazing but the real star of the show is the staff. Nothing was any trouble and they went the extra mile to make our 20th wedding Anniversary trip memorable. We really appreciated it and was very special stay. Thank you 😊

Nice hotel but don't bother going to use the pool. It has been taken over by a swimming tutor who seems to be there constantly with a group of toddlers. Adult swimmers are left with only a narrow roped off area down the side of the pool to swim in. Ok for one person but not enough room for two. This is not fair on guests or on local members of the fitness suite. Also, the changing rooms for the pool and gym are not actually changing rooms. They are merely locker rooms. One or both of the two toilets are often out of order.

We recently visited the Manor House hotel for a short couples break. Neither of us had been before and we were both so impressed by the whole stay. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was an amazing room. The whole hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Staff looked after our every need so well and were all friendly and had time to chat. We ate both nights in the Cellar bar. We had booked a restaurant in town for the second night, but enjoyed our food in the hotel so much that we opted to just stay and eat again. The facilities in the spa were great and we enjoyed some time relaxing in the hot tub, sauna and steam room. We honestly didn’t want to leave and will definitely be returning to the Manor in the not too distant future.

This hotel is a wow from you drive in the gate to stepping in the door. We stayed in room 217 on the 3rd November for 2 nights. The hotel is simply stunning, cosy, warm and celcoming. Staff are fabulous nothing too much trouble. 1st night we ate in the cellar bar drink v reasonable priced as is the food. The food was delicious and again staff so nice. After a good night's sleep we had breakfast we both had the full Irish, wow it was soooooo nice. On our last night we ate in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Husband had the fillet steak and he said it was THE best he's ever tried. The meal deserved more than 10 out of 10 it was just divine. The weather was superb and this enabled us to explore the hitel grounds. Would we go back ABSOLUTELY we are already checking dates. It was a brilliant weekend spent in a fab hotel.

Have stayed in the hotel once before for a wedding so we knew it was really nice, and that hasn't changed. The staff were very friendly, rooms are very comfortable and we had nice bar food in the cellar bar with the kids. We also enjoyed the pool with the kids the next day. The one big disappointment of the stay however was the lack of a cot. Originally we had planned that it would be a night away for my wife and I but due to a late change of circumstances we had to bring our 2 kids (aged 1 & 4) with us. The hotel were accommodating and allowed us to add them to the booking on arrival (we had also messaged the hotel via booking.com earlier that day to advise of same). We arrived at 5pm and told a cot and a camp bed would be arranged for the room. At 8pm neither camp bed nor cot had been provided, and after a couple of calls with reception we were told at 9pm there was no cot available in the hotel for our youngest. This really disrupted our night stay and we were a bit disappointed with how it was handled overall and also how late we were notified one wasn't available. It is a family friendly hotel so was surprised no cot could be a possibility. We raised this with reception upon checkout but apart from an apology no allowances were made for this which left us a bit disappointed with the stay overall

The staff in all areas of the hotel are fabulous. Couldn’t fault any of them. Lucas the cocktail technician was excellent at his job. A real assets to the company. We spoke with Paschal who also has excellent customer service skills and was very welcoming too. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening. It was a fine dining experience and was above average. Unfortunately the reason why I dropped a star was because of the breakfast. For a 4 star is was the most tasteless breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere. The mushrooms looked like they had been cooked in the microwave. The breakfast was very tasteless. This was my friends 3rd stay in the hotel. Mainly because of the stairway to heaven walk. It was my first time. Need to up your game where breakfast is concerned. We have stayed in premier inn and had much better breakfast. Sorry the last bit is negative maybe the chef had a bad day. Otherwise a lovely stay.
