This is a really nice place situated right on the beach on the west side of the island, which means you will get some amazing sunsets. They offer different types of accomodation from classic "no frills" dorm rooms to beach huts to beach suites which even include your own privats kitchen. So whatever your budget or expectations are, you will... More

The best place for backpackers in Rarotonga. The place is really nice, just on the beach. The beach is not good for swimming but yoy could find a good spot with 10 min walk. Seeing the sunset from the hammocs was amazing. The staff is really nice. The only bad thing its that reception is open few hours per day.

All you need! $85 a night for 2 people in a self contained hut. Lagoon isn't great to swim in but beautiful none the less. Close to things you need. Bus will stop outside. Friendly guy in the office who is more than willing to help with any of your needs. Highly recommend

Spent two weeks in the front units right on the beach. We always stay here and love it. Where else can you wake up in bed and watch the ocean and sometimes even the whales going by for the amount of this backpackers. Love sitting on the deck looking at the ocean and watching the sunset. Amazing. It is nice... More

Last year we stayed here in the Beachfront Suite overlooking the Lagoon and didn't hesitate to return again this year. Rarotonga Backpackers (not International Backpackers) is situated in Arorangi on the Western side of the Island. However there are other properties on Raro including units in Tupapa (North Eastern side- a bit quieter lol). This year we stayed at the... More

Solo traveler on a a budget, Rarotonga backpackers was ideally located. Stayed in the 4 bed dormitory. There are scooter for hire and snorkel equipment as well (Just ask Paul the guy at the reception). Several bike rentals within walking distance. The backpackers is located on the west coast means you're never too far away from a stunning sunset on... More

We hired a beach hut for 7nights at $85 per night and were very happy with what we got for our money; queen bed plus a single, a lovely wee ensuite and a fridge, jug, toaster...just perfect for the two of us. Location was great, right on the beach with plenty of hammocks, picnic, nice pool area and access to... More

Great location right on the beach, we got one of the beach huts which are basic with bed and ensuite but that was all we needed as we were out and about every day, i would definitely stay here again if we go back.

Family of Five, great spot right on the water front. Beach house only a short walk from the backpackers with store right across the road. Think of a batch with bbq. If you are into modern travelling this is not for you, but if you like the batch life you will love it, kitchen makes the stay cheaper. Lounge/dinning area... More

On arrival(10 pm) the hotel bus driver was waiting outside (10nz/person). The bus has very limited seating options , ended up sitting with the luggage.  On our way he stopped us at a shop to buy food and drinks (nothing will be available at hotel or nearby at that time ) Arrived to hotel after about 20 minutes, my Beachside...
