Glamping site on the Isle of Arran Scotland Runach Arainn ('Secret or Beloved Arran' in Gaelic) is a small, intimate glamping (glamorous camping) site on the south end of the Isle of Arran, Scotland. We offer self-catering glamping accommodation in luxury yurts accompanied by private bathrooms. We are an ideal holiday destination for families and couples looking for a short break or a longer vacation. With our proper double beds, wood burning stoves, fire pits and sofas we are definitely at the glamorous end of camping! Our site is set in a small orchard near the village of Kilmory where we have three Scottish made yurts. Each yurt comes fully equipped with all you will need for your holiday including bedding, towels, crockery and cooking utensils. Two yurts can sleep up to six people and the third can accommodate up to four people. Each is ideal for a romantic break or as a base for an adventurous family holiday. In addition we provide free site-wide WiFi.

Beautiful setting, so peaceful and quiet. Stayed in Monamore yurt. Could barely see the other 2 yurts. Lots of open space for campfire and outdoor eating. It's about 35mins drive from Broddick, but well worth the drive. The private bathrooms and showers are clean and with hot water. We didn't lock ours the whole time there, no need. There are a couple of cockerels that like to cock a doodle do as soon as the sun comes up, but that's all part of the experience! Kilmory Beach is about 10 mins walk away and well worth a visit, we did land art on the sand. We also walked to the top of the Holy Isle, with Lamlash Cruises, that was an amazing experience. Food at the Lagg Hotel is lovely, and informal, about a 15-20 min walk away, well worth a visit. The Standing Stones at Machrie Moor are so big! That was a memorable experience. Loved this site, we had our own fridge, and easily got more logs from Pippa for the fire. The internal stove was a new experience. Absolutely recommend this site for anyone wishing to experience glamping. Thankyou, we loved it x

We stayed 3 nights as we were here for our Anniversary. Everything was well explained prior to our arrival, even directions and how to access our key. We enjoyed our first stay in a Yurt, there was a double bed and a log burner which we used to heat some feed and also to keep the kettle boiling for tea. The animals were a nice touch as they wandered about. Although it said they had wifi I could not access it, I could have gone and asked but I wasn't overly bothered. Overall very clean and tidy but there was the odd cobweb around the flue and sunlight. A very enjoyable stay

We stayed two nights at Runach Arainn, just the two of us, in the Scoredale yurt. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need. You get your own bathroom, as well as a shared utility room with kettle and toaster shared by the three yurts. Beautiful beach just a 10 min walk away where you can see Ailsa Craig and catch a lovely sunset. We also loved that they have an eco ethos. 5 stars - would highly recommend a stay here!

The Rosa Yurt is spacious and gets warm fairly quickly with the wood burning stove. We used the stove to reheat some prepared food but could not get it hot enough for a rolling boil despite having 40 years experience with outdoor cooking. The kitchen has a microwave and kettle and each yurt has a thermos flask. Fortunately I took my trusty Trangia meths stove and a portable gas barbeque. The bed is comfortable but we thought the second hand furniture looked tired rather than shabby chic. The assorted crockery may be very eco minded but it wasn't my idea of luxury or glamping. The solar lighting worked fine in our Yurt but lasted no more than 45 minutes in our neighbours Yurt. This was apparently reported but not fixed for the duration of their stay. The location is excellent and overall we enjoyed our stay but we have stayed in more romantic settings, which were also a lot less expensive.

Visited for three nights last weekend and from arrival to departure we had a fantastic stay. The owners have some brilliant wee touches as well as a magic set up - the signage, the wheelbarrow to help with luggage, the wind up light (yes, we overdid the solar lighting on our last night but the candles and wind up torch just added to the ambience!), the wood burner and the spotlessly clean and private bathroom facilities all made this a 5* trip in a very tricky time, given Covid. We were wary of travelling at this time but Runach Arainn had sanitiser, safety measures and common sense down to a tee. I highly recommend the Rosa yurt to anyone looking for a bit of luxury whilst essentially camping. We loved cooking with the log burner and chilling out on the huge bed at night. The whole site is a wonderland with something unexpected around the next corner. I can’t wait to go back!

This was my first time Glamping and I will definitely do it again. Visited Arran with my girlfriend and we stayed at the Rosa Yurt. Pippa and Andrew gave us all the information we needed. The Yurt have everything you need (just a little radio for some music or cd player could be an idea to make the experience even more enjoyable). We cooked some food and had an amazing time. I will definitely visit Arran and the Yurt again. Very happy with this experience.

Stayed here for 4 days in August and would strongly recommend. Very well kept, small site. Really good accommodation with many - to numerous to mention them all - nice touches e.g. herb garden, own torch etc. Lots to do on Arran. We plan to visit both Arran and this site again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Runach Arainn glamping yurts. Check in was very easy, we met one of our hosts at their house who showed us around the site and explained all the facilities. Pippa was also very knowledgeable about the island and provided lots of great tourist information. The yurts themselves are fantastic and very well equipped. They have a little stove for heating and cooking (although we didn't require this due to very fine weather). All cooking equipment, crockery etc is provided as is fuel for stove and fire. The yurts are also equipped with solar powered lighting for the evening. We had a really great stay, highly recommended, would stay again

This is the first time I had been glamping so I wasn't sure what to expect, I was not disappointed . the whole experience from start to finish was exceptional and we had an amazing time here. The three yurts are located in a field behind Kilmory church, the setting is peaceful and tranquil, the owners have planted herbs, fruit trees and other plants between the yurts and i'm sure in time this make the site feel even more magical than it does now The interior of our yurt was tastefully decorated with the attention to detail seen everywhere, we had a double bed, two sofa beds, table and chairs, sideboard, bookcase and another small sideboard and it still felt spacious, the focal point of the inside is the wood burning stove, we used this both days as the weather was a little chilly, once the wood burner got going it heated the yurt very quickly, in the morning we used the stove to make coffee and boil some eggs for breakfast, cooking dinner on it would be more of a challenge but there is a fire pit outside which can be used in better weather for cooking. The toilet facilities are as good as you will find in a hotel and you don't have to share them with other clampers as each yurt has its own toilet and shower facilities. This is not just somewhere to stay for the night it is a place of peace, of feeling at one with nature and a place where i'm sure many happy memories are made.
