Barton Hall is a Queen Anne house in the Lake District National Park. It lies in 3.5 acres of secluded grounds including croquet lawn and ample playing area for children. It is 4.5 miles from Penrith West Coast Main Line station and a few minutes walk from Lake Ullswater and Poolley Bridge village, with shops and post office. There are also first-class restaurants and public houses within easy driving distance. Residents have for their own use,a guest kitchen for preparing sandwiches, simple meals etc. The bedrooms are spacious, each with at least a double plus single bed. All rooms have LCD TV.

Well done Elsa. What a fabulous place to stay and relax. All staff really lovely but no one can beat Elsa. Breakfasts are to die for and bedrooms or rather suites - well gorgeous is an understatement. We ended up staying an extra night. Will be back. Oh and dog friendly

I'm sorry I didn't see this (much) sooner. I would imagine you could leave your bikes in the car park (or perhaps on the side of the Hall). It is an incredibly safe, rural area.
