Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We turned up out of the blue hoping to get a spot to stay for the night and Parkfoot were extremely accommodating. The friendly receptionist helped us out by finding us a vacant place. It was such a restful night and to wake up in such a beautiful and scenic area was a delight. Thank you to all at Parkfoot.

First this is a BIG site. I had to call security twice on the sat night to a group about 20m away playing loud music all evening. It's a great location, but it's busy, noisy and not cheap. There is much better around in the lakes. Also the hot water was so hot you couldn't stand under it in the shower - feels like the site needs better mgt. Enjoy the lakes, maybe not there though.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at Park Foot. We have taken a number of steps in the last couple of years to try to cut out the bad behaviour of the few, that is to the detriment of other visitors to the park and we do have security that patrol the park. However, there are always those in society who only care about themselves and give no thought to others in their vicinity. We do have a noise cut off policy at 11pm and thereafter we are reliant upon visitors contacting security (which you did) in order for us to enforce the rules. Sorry to hear about the problem with the showers. We do ask people to report problems as they arise. However, as it has now been brought to our attention this will now be investigated. We do take our responsibilities as site operators seriously and are always happy to receive constructive feedback.

Stayed for seven days with our caravan/awning plus 2 doggies. We booked a pitch on the fully serviced Striding Edge area of the site. The pitch was faultless, level and very tidy with water and waste points being at hand. Toilet/wash facilities were first class and very clean, a well stocked shop on site, bar was available but we only visited once, we found the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The Lakeside and Pooley Bridge are a reasonably short walk, our dogs loved swimming in the clean Lake on the way to one of the few lovely pubs in the village. The Ullswater Steamer is worth a trip, we had lovely sunny weather. So many walks in the area, and much more if you are ready to jump in the car. Back to the site, we can't really fault it. We also paid for wifi as i struggle without it even though i'm almost 60, and yes the wifi does work as i have seen comments saying it doesn't, i had to go into settings and enable roaming. A thoroughly enjoyable week, and we would return.

We camped here over the August Bank Holiday. The site facilities are really good, toilets great and its very close to pubs etc in Pooley Bridge. You have to be extremely careful driving around the site as there are kids everywhere, often unsupervised, running into the road. The thing that let it down was the noisy from the three families behind our pitch. I understand the rule is no noise after 11pm but before that time surely you use your sense as to what would disturb others and be obnoxious. Apparently not, the three families had their music really loud and at one point circa 10pm decided to have a whistling competition which woke up both of my children who had been sleeping. When we commented about how noisy they were being, their response was to say it wasn't even 11pm yet!! It would be great for their to be a particular area of the site for noisy groups so those that prefer the quiet can also be together. I know it says there are patrols by staff but we certainly didn't see anyone walking round

Stayed in Woodside 3 house. It was spotless and clean, it had everything you need. Wifi and Tv included. It had more than enough room for a family. It was at the top of the hill, the view was great, shop was good everything you need, went to TJ's bar and had food twice in our stay, good food and price was fair. The staff on the park where very friendly. Enjoyed our stay and will book again for next year. Thankyou parkfoot, for a nice holiday.

Had a lovely short stay in the Fusedale Lodge. Check in was quick but not until 5pm! Fairly new lodge and spotlessly clean with a lovely decking area, Smart tv and the wifi was good. The site is huge. Away from the camping area the park was very quiet, some lovely walks nearby and a short stroll into Pooley Bridge. Never had a chance to visit the bar/restaurant but the little shop on site had everything that you need for your stay.

This was our 2nd stay at Park Foot and it will be our last. When we booked we knew it would be busy as it is a popular site due to being the closest to Pooley Bridge. We returned home a day earlier due to unacceptable levels of noise beyond midnight on the large field in which we sited our caravan. This was caused by highly excited young children still making noise gone 11.30pm and adults, possibly their parents, shouting across the camping field to others and generally being rowdy. The staff had patrolled all week yet on the night that they needed to enforce their well publicised rules, they failed to do so and neglected their responsibilities. After writing to Park Foot we are very disappointed with a disingenuous apology implying the problem was ours. If you are people who enjoy making unacceptable levels of noise into the early hours and being inconsiderate of others then this is a perfect place for you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. You say that our security did not patrol on the night. However, they were on duty until at least 1am, and are available on the phone throughout the night. We do ask that visitors let us know of problems at the time they happen in order for us to try to rectify these issues as soon as possible. We do try to enforce the rules and take our responsibilities as site owners and operators very seriously. We have taken a number of steps in the last couple of years to make the site better for the vast majority of our guests by limiting groups where possible and with increased security. However, security cannot be at all places at once and do rely on being contacted by those who have encountered problems. I would say that our apology is not disingenuous - we are sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay and if you had contacted us at the time security would have tried to remedy your complaint.

Pre booked our pitch via phone, on arrival found pitch to be next to the road and in the shade of a tree for upto 60% of the day. When asking the reception to change pitch the staff were not that friendly or helpful, which is not good for customer service. We got a nice pitch which are large and well kept, the toilet block is clean & tidy. Cannot access any Wi-Fi on the lakeside pitches. Great place to visit away from the hustle & bustle of places like Windermere, Keswick & Kendal.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review of your recent stay. We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with the first pitch you were booked on to. We are however, pleased to read we were able to allocate you with a more suitable pitch for your requirements during such a busy period on the Park. I am sorry to hear you felt our staff weren't helpful or friendly whilst doing this for you, please accept our apologies. Our guest Wi-Fi is hosted by camping connect, we have a helpline available to contact them when their are network issues, the mast is over on Lakeside, so it sounds more like a technical issue during this time, as signal is usually strong there, we are sorry you had trouble connecting. We are glad you had a nice time here overall, we hope to welcome you again sometime. Many Thanks, Park Foot

First the pros- fantastic location, perfect for water sports, great shower/toilet blocks, washing up area, never had to wait. Site in general has good facilities, well kept, excellent shop, good food in TJ’s. Pitches ( we stayed in a premium pitch) level and large. Lovely short level walk into pooled bridge with some fantastic eateries. Scenery stunning!! Over all a very good camp site. BUT Cons- the NOISE!!!! We can take chatter and sitting round camp fires etc, but we don’t need REALLY loud dance music all evening, and the terrible singing along, I get people want music but keep it as back ground we don’t all want to party every night. Warden did tell them to turn it down but they always see him coming and turn it down then back up again when he zooms off. It’s such a shame, I had read reviews about noise and kept my fingers crossed and I don’t think everyone is like this we just had really bad luck!! And the site is literally massive, and the thing about them no longer allowing groups is tosh as we were surrounded by multiple groups which made the noise obviously worse. Like I say we get, camp fire chatter etc but loud intrusive music is just not on. Real shame as we lived the actual site, but ‘holiday parks’ are just not for us, all singing and dancing ‘literally’ is what floats your boat, then this is the site for you! Crack on.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, here at Parkfoot Holiday Park. Firstly, I'm sorry to hear your stay wasn't up to our usual standard for some factors and we sincerely apologise for the disruption caused. We would like to thank you so much for your comments on our location, the quality of our pitches, the food and the facilities we have here at Park Foot. We are very proud of our Park and all the great things we have to offer. At this stage, we can only apologise for the noise disruption from other guests during your time with us. We are actively trying to combat this issue, we no longer accept any group booking and bookings are being checked as they are made. We have also employed more security to patrol the site to ensure that the site rules are abided to. Our 24 hour telephone number is also at the top of our site map, highlighted during check in and ask any issues be reported to us, so we can investigate and deal with the problem swiftly. Those that are in breach of the site rules are asked to leave our site and can be blacklisted to prevent them from returning. Apologies that on this occasion others behaviour has tarnished your time away. We hope to welcome you back again sometime soon. Thanks, Park Foot Team

Absolutely terrible, my daughter has Tourette’s and was making noises due to them. We got a noise complaint due to them, when the staff came over to tell us that they had received a noise complaint I told them that my daughter had Tourette’s they proceeded to say that they didn’t care and that they would kick us of if she wasn’t quiet, this made my daughter very upset. The next day we were kicked off the camp site. Absolutely disgusting ableist behavior from staff, I wouldn’t recommend to anybody.

Responded 3 Sept 2023
Hi Tom, We’re sorry to hear about your experience and find this quite concerning. The only situation we are aware of recently, that ended in guests being asked to leave our site, was when there was a group of adults, with their children, who had all booked individually and congregated down in the Euseriggs area. The issue being they were very loud and inconsiderate to the site rules regarding noise and had consumed a great deal of alcohol, there were also reports of cannabis being smoked, which was unfortunately reflected in their behaviour and attitude, resulting in multiple complaints from other campers, some even shortening their stay with us. We are very open to discussions regarding a situation that may have potentially escalated and listen to both sides and find a solution that means everyone can enjoy their camping trip, having to remove people from our site is always a last resort and not something which we take lightly. If you would like to contact us further regarding this situation, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with yourselves to try and resolve this situation.
