Waterfoot Caravan Park is often celebrated for its scenic location near Pooley Bridge and its charming atmosphere, with well-furnished accommodations that offer great value, according to many travelers. While guests generally admire the spotless and well-equipped rooms, a few feel the accommodations are somewhat basic for the price. The service is applauded for being welcoming and responsive, though some visitors mention limited bar hours. Despite the need for updates, particularly in the shower block, the overall experience is highly regarded for its cleanliness and beautiful surroundings.

Just back from a 4 night stay in Arthurs Pike, one of the lovely apartments in the Mansion House.
The view of Ullswater Lake from the lounge, kitchen, and main bedroom is beautiful.
Lovely and bright, very comfortable, excellent WIFI and everything you need for your stay, including a small welcome pack with coffee, tea, sugar, milk, and a couple of biscuits. There is a shop on site, should you need to purchase more.

The overall park is very well maintained and offers a range of accommodation to suit everyone. Easy reach of the M6 motorway, on the edge of Ullswater, and a lovely walk into Pooley Bridge so location is ideal.

There is a bar in the Mansion that opens Wednesday-Sunday evenings, with reasonable priced drinks, however, we only popped in once as we preferred the village pubs in Pooley Bridge and Glenridding.

Would definitely recommend it, and we will return

We recently stayed in a dog friendly Glamping Pod, which had everything inside you would ever need for your stay.
A shower and toilet inside the Pods are a bonus, so no torches required for the nightly trek to the loo.
We thought it was great value for money, and enjoyed our stay on site, with our dog.
There is even a dog wash on site, so no mucky pups.
Nice to have a drink in the Mansion House on a night time, if you don't want to wander into Pooley Bridge
Pooley bridge village is about 10/15 minutes away depending on how fit you are feeling, and all this is within easy reach of the M6.

We have just got back from a week's stay at Captain's Cottage and it was, as the title says, fantastic. The location is perfect. It's right in the middle of Pooley Bridge, but has private off road parking and the river is literally at the bottom of the garden, through a gate. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. The beds were comfortable and clean - the pillows could've been better, but that's a personal preference. Despite being right next to the pub - the gardens are next to each other, there was very little noise other than a couple of noisy people leaving after last orders one night. The only downside with the pub being that close was that we could smell the food cooking and it made us hungry!

We did have a problem with the bath leaking into the kitchen and had to phone the park on Thursday evening at about 6pm. There was only an answerphone and no one got back in touch after we left a message. Granted it wasn't an emergency and I'm going to assume if it was then someone would've got back in touch. Still, we phoned next morning and someone was round within an hour to have a look. They ended up being called back on Sunday morning when we discovered the overflow was leaking and it was fixed within an hour. The staff at the park were polite, friendly and helpful and the maintenance team were also the same when they came to fix the bath.

We would happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it as somewhere to stay.

Hints:-

The river is shallow enough to paddle in, but if your children are young just be aware the bottom is very uneven and the current can be quite strong especially if there's any wind.

If you want to kayak or paddle board up to Ullswater you can, but as the river flows away from the lake it's not as easy as it looks. Again, if it's windy it's quite a struggle. However, there is a way you can walk to the edge of the lake in about 5 minutes which is what we did carrying paddle boards - I've drawn a line on a map and attached it purely because it made my life a lot easier.

There are a lot of very tame ducks on the river who will spend time at the bottom of the garden and leave a fair bit of evidence of their visits - wear shoes down there!

Lovely well kept, people and dog friendly site.
Online check-in and pre-arrival information provided was very useful, especially as we arrived late in the dark. The site map and on site signage made it easy to find the bar once we'd set up camp, which was friendly and welcoming (dogs were right at home).
We booked the standard 6.5m pitch, perfect for our campervan.
Shower block and dog wash certainly helped keep our van clean with the bad weather.
On site shop is well stocked for essentials.
The short walk into Pooley Bridge is easy to follow and is off road.
Great location for exploring the surrounding area by foot, car, bus or Ullswater steamer.
Overall enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again.

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) in a glamping pod for 4 nights in Aug 22.
The location is fantastic (not far from M6 - driving), walking distance to Ullswater Lake (Pooley Bridge) and lots of local attractions nearby. The pods are situated at the top of the site with plenty of space around them and away from the road/cars.
The pods are compact, they do offer more luxury than camping - the integrated toilet/sink shower room is great as is the kitchen facilities. The beds are not that comfortable and it is close quarters once the sofa bed is made up but that was part of the fun for our short trip. There literally is nothing other than what they describe in the kitchen, you do have to bring all your kitchen things - I forgot a big bowl for fruit and my mug lol! You have to carry your things or use a provided trolly to get them from the car park to the pod (not far) but pack into bags to make it easier.
I would definitely recommend you bring a comfy camping chair for the evenings and storage for kids books/toys/games is limited so bring them in a basket/box.

Absolutely amazing 2 weeks. We usually use the fantastic touring site but as we were getting married we booked a couple of the cottages. When we arrived they were immaculate. I was amazed at how much was already on the cottages. Coffee etc, washing up liquid and all that was needed for the kitchen including kitchen roll etc, shampoo and shower gel. Literally everything you needed. Beds were super comfy and the log fire was an added bonus. Already booked to go back as was that impressed. The team as always made us feel part of the Waterfoot family and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you so much

Lady of the the lake is a running cottage, homely and spotless with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, I would not hesitate to recommend this place and stay again. The location is superb for a short walk to ullswater lake and pooley bridge village.
I would prefer a later check out time than 9030 especially with young children, as the check in time is 4.30 a check out time of 1100 would still give a 5 and a half hour window to clean

We stayed in an S-Pod Glamping Pod, which was great for two people and a little dog! The shower was really spacious and powerful, the towels were a good size and quality, and the pod had everything we needed for our stay.

The only thing that let it down slightly is there are some windows at the top of the pod which don't have blinds, and there was a security light on all night outside the cottages which really disturbed our sleep on the mezzanine level as it shines directly into the top of the pod. We ended up sleeping in the pull down bed in the dining area as it was much darker and there was a curtain to pull around the bed which made it even better.

We would definitely book again as the site is in a great location and the pod overall was fab!

Perfect location for Pooley Bridge within walking distance. Booked 4 nights but loved it so much stayed another 4 nights. Staff all really welcoming, polite and helpful. All pitches have water taps, TV points, water drainage which was really useful, the showers were always spotlessly clean.

We stayed in Western Bell cottage with two friends and our dogs. Everything was clean and tidy, kitchen was equipped with a lot of extras not often provided, kitchen foil, kitchen roll, sponge and dishcloth. Dishwasher with tablets a bonus. Small pots of jam & marmalade, few biscuits, all nice touches.
My only downside was the bed in the double room was hard as nails, made our bones ache and very poor sleep. I'd take a mattress topper if I were to go again. Plus the 9.00am checkout is a bit harsh.

Re park-Not much apart from a small park for children. Very nice bar and terrace, you will have to check opening times. Pizza good but slightly expensive. The village is a 10 min walk away, a few shops/pubs, take a short walk around lake side for peddloes boats. Good for dogs. Aria force waterfall good, but need sturdy shoes. Ulswater steamers good but expensive. Ulleswater town not much to do, walks good though. I think the Alpaca/garden centre is still open. You do need a car if you want to go any distance. Ann
