Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Martyn and Susie welcome you wholeheartedly in their lovely authentic English cottage. Everything is done with such detail and cleanliness. And in the morning, when you open the curtains, you see the sheep grazing on the adjacent meadow. It doesn’t get calmer, greener and more soothing than this. Also, both Martyn and Susie know the whole region very well and will help you with any questions and tips. We had a splendid time.

Spent 3 nights at the delightful Wooden Cabbage Martyn & Susie's hospitality was second to none, breakfast was a delicious feast We would recommend visiting The Greyhound for supper, as you certainly won't require lunch after your breakfast!

We stayed with Susie and Martin for a long weekend, on recommendation from a friend. We weren’t disappointed as we had a peaceful and comfortable short holiday. We stayed in the Oak Suite which had lots of room and comfortable furniture. We slept really well in our kingsize bed with luxury bedding and soft pillows. The added touch of flowers from garden gave a lovely aroma in the room. Breakfast was exceptional with Susie’s home made jams and preserves to go with her muesli and Greek yoghurt followed by full cooked breakfast and lots of toast. We loved the gardens and plants in their beautiful house of which they are so obviously proud. I am sure we will return.

We had such a wonderful stay during our time at Wooden Cabbage B & B. Martyn and Susie were delightful, charming hosts who looked after us so well, gave us really great tips for things to do in areas we wanted to visit, gave us brilliant restaurant recommendations, and cooked amazing breakfasts including fresh fruit from the beautiful garden, and Susie's homemade granola which we loved. The house itself was lovely and comfortable, the garden was outstanding with incredible views. We can't recommend this place enough and will definitely go back. Thanks so much Martyn and Susie!

We had a very enjoyable stay in the Wooden Cabbage much of it due to the warmth and hospitality of Martyn and Susie. We were offered a much welcome tray of coffee, tea and shortbread immediately upon our arrival after our long journey down. We enjoyed this taking in the superb vistas of the Dorset countryside from Martyn's patio. It is clear that Martyn is a very talented plantsman and evidence is seen all around the splendid gardens and in the Conservatory/Breakfast Room, which is adorned with some spectacular and exotic plants and climbers. Our bedroom (The Cream Room) was very comfortable, nicely furnished and with an excellent ensuite facility. Everything was spotlessly clean and Wi Fi is free and utterly reliable. Susie provided an excellent choice at breakfasts and her home made fruit compotes, preserves and granola were truly delicious. The cooked breakfasts were excellent and made with very tasty local produce. We were grateful to Susie for booking us into two different pub restaurants for our evening meals. Both were very good. The Wooden Cabbage is set in lovely countryside and is very quiet and serves as a wonderful base to explore this beautiful English County. We were grateful to Martyn for his kindness in providing a map and some guidance about attractive places to visit in Dorset. Of course we only scratched the surface on the many interesting and attractive places to visit but that gives us the perfect excuse to return to the Wooden Cabbage. Mick and Chris

Thank you Martin and Susie for a super few days spent in your beautiful home. It was all excellent, particularly the arrival tea and shortbread whilst sat in Martyn’s stunning garden, enjoying the sunshine. We left there after visiting some local areas and gardens. A great few days.
