Just back from a fabulous 13 nights stay. The staff here cannot be more helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They have good Covid measures in respect of the shower block and laundry/washing up room in place. The 2 washing machines are preloaded with powder and conditioner and there’s 2 tumble dryers.

The park is immaculate and well laid out with static caravans, gravel touring pitches and grass pitches. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing or active holiday in Devon the location is perfect as you are wonderfully isolated, but perfectly placed for Tavistock, the rivers Tamar and Tavy, the moors, beaches, walking and cycling trails and the wonderful towns/villages of both Devon and Cornwall. As we were camping the weekly Hog Roast and stone cooked Pizza stands along with the mobile bar were happily used and enjoyed. The on-site shop is very well stocked for most things especially an ice cold cider after a days kayaking! It was great to pre order warm pain aux chocolate, croissants and baguettes for collection the next morning.

If you have small children there’s a little play park and a field designated for ball games adjacent to a pétanque/Boules court and table tennis. There’s also a games room with air hockey, pool, etc it also has a tea/coffee machine which is great when packing up.

A local pub that does good food is only a mile away walking along the road and there’s also a farm shop attached.

We would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing break. It was definitely busier and a bit more noisy of an evening at the weekends, but that didn’t bother us. After lockdown it was nice to see and hear other people.

The Woodovis team certainly go that extra mile to make the whole site, from the moment you turn into the lane leading into the park, impeccable.

It’s a welcoming place to get away from it all and enjoy all that Devon has to offer

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at Woodovis Park.
Having spent around 7 hours on the road we arrived at the site to a smile and a very warm welcome. The staff checked us in very quickly and had someone show us to our pitch (we have a touring caravan).
Having opted for the fully serviced pitches, which I must say are a good size we had plenty of room. our set up was a twin axle van, four mtr awning with room for car, seats and the dog.
The site and facilities were immaculate with all the facilities being cleaned and maintained regularly. Due to the current pandemic situation the staff had set up a simple but effective way of controlling numbers into the pool and spa area.
The woods had a one way system in place for walking dogs to and from the dog field (they even had a poo bag dispenser on the gate).
Several nights there is a “pop up bar and pop up takeaway” which are great with quality food.
The location of the site is great for exploring both coasts of Devon and Cornwall. The staff and wardens are all friendly, helpful and always pleased to help.

You may see a couple of bad reviews on here, which i did read before arriving. Having now stayed here, i can honestly say ignore them, as they are clearly making things up.
10/10 we will be back.
Highly recommended.

Having read the reviews and observed the website, we decided to take a gamble and use Woodovis Park to store our touring caravan for a year or so. The site is situated on the edge of Dartmoor, peaceful and very pictureque. There is quite breathtaking scenery from every aspect. Nearby historic Tavistock offers a plethora of shops, eateries, and a superb pannier market, in addition to it's fabulous architecture. Just a couple of miles further, over the River Tamar, we explored the beautiful Cornish coastlines (North and South) and visited Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Mevagissy and discovered many other pretty villages along the way. The site itself comprises approximately fifteen acres of well maintained lawns with generous camping and caravanning plots. Facilities include a very helpful and friendly reception/ general store (from where fresh bread and pastries can be ordered daily), newly refurbished shower cubicles, launderette and games room. There is a very well appointed indoor swimming pool, jaccuzi and sauna. Children's entertainment in the 'open' barn area includes story telling, circus skills, petanque and archery. At Woodovis Park, you will really enjoy the award winning hog roast every Monday and Friday, and Wednesday night is Pizza night, provided by mobile units. We were so impressed by the warmth and hospitality displayed by all of the team, we will be visiting again for a weekend next month. And for another week at the end of October. In fact we're looking forward to several holidays over the next few years, at least!

We have went for a holiday in the end of July, 2 small families in a caravan. At first everything went normal, the location is great, staff seemed nice and polite. Our room in a caravan had a hole in the floor (covered up with the bed) so even though the day was hot, the night was incredibly freezing, ended up sleeping under two blankets.
While we were booking the holiday we had no issues- “remote” caravans, “barbecues allowed”, etc. At 10.30pm we were finishing our dinner (barbecue) and listening to music outside on a bench and a man from reception came and told us to put out the fire since it is bothering “everyone” (even though we were in a corner of the location so we only had 1 neighbour which was pretty far away). Since he was actually being polite, we put the fire out, turned off the music and went inside. Inside we were playing the music on the phones volume, no speakers, nothing. And obviously since it was 7 people in the caravan it will not be dead quiet because everyone is talking. So we had 2 more complaints, the same night we decided that it is not a holiday if we cannot even speak in the caravan after 10pm. We have booked another hotel, closer to the sea.
So even thought the place is not terrible by itself, but if you want to feel free at holiday, stay outside, listen to music, do barbecue - as I find it, this is not the place!
We were told we will be issued a refund by Hoseasons (this is where we have booked it) but even those people are impossible to contact, no replies to emails, no calls back.

As a family friendly safe and peaceful park we do not tolerate loud, aggressive and intimidating behaviour or our safety rules not being adhered to. Our main priority is the safety and welfare of all our guests at Woodovis Park and to ensure all our guests enjoy their holiday and have a memorable experience. It is very unfortunate that we had to ask you to leave but as you did not adhere to the safety rules we have in place we were unfortunately left with no choice. Lighting open fires next to a caravan without the use of a fire pit is not something we deem safe or acceptable; smoking cigarettes inside the caravans is also not allowed. This is not to stop enjoyment but to ensure safety for all our guests including you. We do ask that all our guests adhere to the post 10pm quiet time, this is to ensure noise is kept to a minimum so all guests have a peaceful and relaxing holiday especially during the summer holidays as we do also have little ones on site. Particularly when the site is full, as it was during your stay. We politely asked you to turn your music down several times as we do not allow loud music being played until late hours of the night to respect the guests around you, again it is unfortunate that you refused to do this. Several team members at Woodovis Park including management asked you very politely to adhere to the safety rules, by putting out the fire, not to smoke inside the caravan, to stop playing loud music and to stop the loud shouting whilst running around the site until early hours of the morning which again you refused to do. Once my team received intimidating and aggressive behaviour from your party we were left with no choice but to ask you to leave as we do not tolerate this type of behaviour. Again it is unfortunate that this behaviour did not stop until we had to threaten calling the police. Never the less we allowed you to remain in your static caravan until a suitable time the following morning to allow you to sleep, shower and pack up all your belongings. The hole in the floor which you refer to in your review is a ventilation hole which is put in by the manufacturer of the static caravan, all static caravans have this to allow ventilation, hence the plastic covering with holes over the top. We are sorry that your experience at Woodovis did not meet your expectations but as you can see from the five star reviews we have received we will always endeavour to make sure our guests are safe and have an outstanding holiday, our team at Woodovis Park will do whatever it takes to ensure this. I strongly feel that a peaceful family friendly site is not the place for you to have any future holidays and I recommend researching holiday destinations before you arrive to make sure that you to also have an enjoyable holiday and to make sure it is the correct environment for you to have a memorable time.

We had an amazing 3 night stay in a super pod here at Woodovis. The site is beautiful and so well maintained by the super friendly staff. Our pod was immaculate and although small it was perfect for us. All the site amenities are so well kept and immaculate. We made use of the pool and jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much. The shared shower and toilet facilities were spotless with shower gel and body lotion provided. One thing we loved was that you can order fresh bread and pastries the day before and collect from the little camp site shop in the morning, a really nice treat to go with your breakfast! We also loved the pop up gin bar and hog roast van which came on the Monday evening, what a great idea!
The park is very well located for Dartmoor, we did some amazing walks.
There was a local pub about a 20 minute walk from Woodovis which we ate in twice and the food was very good.
All in all we had a fantastic stay at Woodovis and would definitely return and would recommend to anyone.

This is an excellent place to stay.
The grounds are kept to a very high standard, washrooms immaculate, and the swimming pool and hot tub all make it a worthy 5 Star Service.
Motorhomes are very well catered for, with the same high standard of efficient waste disposal facilities.
It seems no expense is spared for all guests who stay.

The area is very good for walks and cycling, as the Tamar Trails is a must to visit.

For walkers, just a shortish walk from the site. Check with reception, but at the moment you can do the following:
From the end of the entrance to Woodovis, turn right to walk along the B3362 until you reach the first right turn, opposite the Tyre & wheel Services. Follow this quite road all the way passed resident homemade signs saying "No Public Access", till you reach the disabled parking area. Here, you look for a metal farm gate, which is locked, but you can squeeze pass, and then you are in the Tamar trails, where you can find maps and information of all the history of the area.
The main entrance to the Tamar Trails is about 6 miles from Woodovis. Going by car, there is paid parking for about 30 cars. We did not see any parking areas for motorhomes, maybe this could be investigated. Also there is a café and toilets, which are well maintained. I imagine this can be quite busy jurying high season.

In conclusion, we feel Woodovis Park is a great place to stay, and if you can tear yourself away from the site facilities, this is a great stopping point to explore all that Devon has to offer.

Just returned from an amazing short break at Woodovis Park and had such a great time. The site is absolutely beautiful and the staff are so friendly and welcoming with nothing being too much of a problem.

All of the site amenities were exceptionally clean and the shared shower and toilets were spotless at all times. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely on the rainy days too with all Covid measures in place. Their park shop comes fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay at reasonable prices. You can even order freshly baked bread and croissants for the next morning!

One thing we especially loved was the newly built ‘Doggie Spa’ where we took our very muddy puppy to clean up after a long walk along Dartmoor! Great idea!

Thanks again to everyone at Woodovis Park, we can’t wait to return soon!

When our holiday to Florida was cancelled, I swapped it for Tenerife...which was also cancelled. Getting desperate for some family time away, I scoured the whole of the South Coast looking for somewhere to stay. I came across this little gem of a campsite whilst looking for static vans and discovered there was some availability in a camping pod. Thinking it would be great fun for my boys, but probably not so great for us adults, I booked 2 nights to give it a try. The campsite itself was fairly easy to find despite being somewhat remote, and we got a warm welcome on arrival.
The pod itself was great for what it was. Very warm, as comfortable as we had hoped and had a little television and power socket for charging phones etc. The boys thought it was wonderful. The site itself was spotless. We weren't far from a toilet and there was a lovely shower block, launderette and shop. The fresh pastries and bread were lovely if a little pricey, but I highly recommend.
Biggest plus was the pool and hot tub. Just what we needed after a long day walking.
An outside caterer came in on Monday night with a hog roast, burgers and hot dogs which were really good and well priced. There was also a gin bar that evening that we didn't try, and a story teller for the kids.
If you like camping, then this place is wonderful for a quiet stay. Would we go back?..I'm afraid having to run to the toilet in the pouring rain in the middle of the night is still a "no no" for me. We'll be back to holidays with gauranteed sun asap

We only stayed here fro 2 nights, although after arriving, we wished we had booked for longer. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon in late April. The site was easy to find as was the reception upon arrival. We were greeted with happy and helpful staff who showed us to our large pitch. The specific Covid procedures were explained which included booking a shower slot between 8am and noon. This worked really well, the entire male or female block was allocated to a specific pitch for this time, and the areas were regularly attended by the staff to clean between booked sessions.
The site had a small but stocked shop, a great indoor pool and outdoor games area. On our second night, the site was attended by a Pop-up kitchen selling hog roast baps and burgers. Additionally, on the same night, a pop-up bar was provided, another great addition. Overall, a lovely site, with happy and helpful staff.
