We stayed recently at the Ammazulu African Palace as my daughter was getting married in South Africa. We live in Scotland. The hotel is spectacular internally and the artworks are amazing. We booked the Presendential Suite which had fantastic views over the gorge and was an excellent base for the wedding. The room was stunning. Alta and her team went... More

This is no ordinary hotel...the Zulu palace is just fabulous and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended. There is a wonderful collection of Zulu beadwork and baskets....its more of a museum than a hotel. Really amazing.

For my work I spend a lot of time in hotels and safari lodges and whilst most are good, not many leave the impression on me that the Ammazulu African Palace has. The decor is amazing and something to behold. It could be over the top and gaudy but it isn't. The rooms are spacious and luxurious and the service... More

Stayed a night in this amazing place. The art and decor is absolutely stunning and you actually get lost trying to absorb it all. The views from the balcony were breathtaking and our suite was fantastic and luxurious. The breakfast was superb and the staff are very eager to please.

A group of ten of us spent a night in the Ammazulu Palace at the end of our visit to KwaZulu Natal. It was quite difficult to find, and the driver of our small bus had difficulty negotiating the driveway towing a trailer. Once we arrived, we realized that it was well worth the effort. The hotel houses an extraordinary... More

A great cultural experience! You can relax and take for granted that all the other ammenities are well catered for. Size of room and the bathroom are generous and help you unwind at the end of the day. My one and only need was for a desk area (in the bedroom) that I could place my lap top and sit... More

We held our wedding at this extraordinary venue in July 2016 with the ceremony held in the 'boma' overlooking the gorge. We booked all the bedrooms so that our 3pm start could continue into the evening and we could thereby enjoy Ammazulu's magnificence both during the day and then later by candlelight. I would say, and I'm sure my wife... More

One of the most amazing places I have stayed in. The rooms were great and the artwork incredible. Everywhere you looked was something new and eye-catching. You can spend days there and still not take it all in. Lovely garden as well and lovely views of the gorge. Definitely not to be missed.

It is like being in a fairytale. The rooms are excellent. The artwork is amazing. The views are magnificent over the gorge. Service is great. It is truly a palace. Unlike any place I have stayed in the 36 countries I have visited.

I attended a wedding at this truly eccentric and quaint boutique hotel I've loved in Highway area for 27 years and never knew it existed. If you want to visit a place that is different you have to come here in the heart of Kloof. The food was spectacular. The venue has filled every space with art decor. I visited... More
