We spent 5 days relaxing and exploring. We arrived the day before Hurricane Otto was heading for Costa Rica's Carribean coast. Some people left for the city but we felt very safe and comfortable so we just waited out the storm. This property is away from all the crowds and billboards pervasive in Arenal. We stayed in a bungalow which...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

It is rustic but very comfortable. The staff is freindly and helpful. The Owner was very helpful with planning our excursion into the rainforest. He gave great suggestions and even helped arrange a fantastic boat tour of the river. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was relaxing and the the fresh water pool was inviting. I can't wait to go back!

We stayed at Chachagua for 1 night. Location: 28 minute drive to La Fortuna, 2.5km (10 minutes) of the drive is on typical bumpy dirt roads- you need a 4x4! Room: chalet and bathroom is tired and needs updating, comfortable bed. Rain can be very noisy on the tin roof. Food: can only comment on breakfast which was mediocre at...

The lodge is true rainforest paradise, tucked away from the main road and civilization. To get there you have to drive on the unpaved road, but the effort was worth it! While there you forget about the rest of the world. The constant chorus of frogs and rain forest as well as a creek passing on the property makes your...

A fantastically situated resort that lacks western comforts. The location was fantastic but the food, service and the condition of the room need to be really improved if I am going to return. Various areas of the complex are in desperate need of repair and upgrade and for the price we paid we expected more.

We are a family of 3 (2 adults & 1 x 13 yr old) and stayed for 3 nights at Chachagua and had a great time. Diego, the general manager was extremely friendly and went out of his way to make our stay a good one, including taking my wife out for a morning horse ride in the forest (which...

A friend and I did not stay at the lodge, but we got a recommendation for the horse riding tour through the rainforest. Neither of us had ever ridden a horse before, so we were both nervous. Our guide, Diego, was born and raised in the area, and was able to answer all of our questions with a smile and...

We stumbled across the Chachahua Rainforest Resort on the back of an Instagram photo that a previous guest had posted and that looked like a tranquil paradise. After a long but comfortable flight from London on BA we made the scenic and highly enjoyable journey through the mountains of Costa Rica. We passed many Coffee, Sugar and various plantations which...

My wife and I took a couple of days off to visit Costa Rica, you can not believe how wild this is! Fortuna town is amazing, also Caribbean side was spectacular "with a capital S" However the actual hotel was not what we had in mind, from some nasty spots on the sheets, to low quality food, dont get me...
