Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed 2 nights on the touring caravan park. It’s a lovely setting & was really quiet when we were there. The whole site is tidy & well kept. I’d describe the toilets as basic but clean. Hot water & a hand dryer would be a useful addition to the toilets as would a stand pipe for drinking water adjacent to the caravan pitches. These are really close together & quite tricky to reverse into with a larger caravan.

The plan for this trip was to get the kids out in the natural environment as much as possible so we booked them into all the activities and they had a great time -highly recommend bushcraft, combat, towable and the inflatables. The Pods are very clean, well maintained and well stocked with all we needed. The bedding was comfortable and the pods were lovely and cosy. The staff were amazing- so friendly and helpful. Would recommend this stay to anyone wanting to get away from it all and get back to simple living and nature. Waking up to a daily delivery of fresh croissants and pure orange juice was a nice touch thanks

Dear Trip201796, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Share Discovery Village. I am disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your stay and found our pods to be small. We have received nothing but positive feedback regarding our new pods and we do have pictures of both the interior and exterior of these online to show that they are an average size and comparable to other pods in other glamping locations. We do state on our website and on third party booking websites that check in is from 3pm. Having spoken to our reception team, they confirmed that you did arrive early, much earlier than the 2.45pm as you have stated. We accommodated you with an early check-in when you arrived. I do apologize that you were unable to locate the pods, we are currently getting signs made for these to make it easier for guests to locate them when on site. We do ensure however that all dog litter is lifted on a daily basis and therefore can't imagine that this is something you would have come into contact with during your stay. Best regards, Darragh Collins CEO Share Discovery Village

We as a family booked the morning of the water activity, not realising that it gave lightening in the afternoon. We spoke to a member of staff who told us we would get our money back !!! However 3 months on still have nt received anything. Have tried to speak with David and Darragh on mutli-able occasions, and they seem to be in meetings / holidays constantly (joke) , It was unsafe to take our family on the lake / due to the lightning / and just want our money back !!! NEVER BEEN TREATED IN THIS WAY BEFORE DISGUSTING

Hi there. In response to your recent review, I have, once again, spoken to the pertinent staff for clarity on events of the day in question. Our outdoor team are extremely experienced and knowledgeable and place participant safety at the forefront of everything we do. Having liaised with the head of outdoors and the coordinator who was in charge on the day of your families visit, they, as they do everyday, had checked the forecast and determined there were no issues of concern that would prevent any activity sessions going ahead as planned. This is something that our staff do as a matter of course on a daily basis, indeed had there been any weather of concern forecast they would have checked updates on an hourly basis. They have confirmed that there was no forecast for lightning on the day in question and the fact that the session in question went ahead without interruption is testament to the fact that the weather on the day did not present any risk. As I said the safety of all our guests is sacrosanct, for example our 5pm waterpark session, on Saturday past, was cancelled due to the wind speed at the time, so it is not a case that we ignore weather warnings. I am unaware who you spoke to who told you that you would receive reimbursement, we have a very clear process in place for how such requests are handled and indeed a member of your party followed the process and emailed the appropriate individual. There were both email and telephone communications between your party and Dave on numerous occasions. Dave pointed out that due to the fact that your party decided to not take part in the session we would not issue a refund, but did, however offer a credit note to be used at another time on any activity of your choosing. I understand that this may not be the outcome you wanted but it is in line with our policy and this was explained in email and telephone correspondence. I also understand that you have been keen to talk to me about the matter but it is Dave who deals with refunds etc. and he has explained the situation, I would not be informing you of anything different. Arriving to the site after reading the reviews i wasnt totally annoying at having to carry all the camping equipment from the car to the site. Having no traffic around the tent has a plus and minus. The site itself was dryish when we arrived. The toilets are basic but cleaned well each morning and left smelling clean and neat and tidy. They are a tad dated but they do the job. The security guard who called by each night was friendly and lovely. Thankfully not cause to need him until a power shortage took out the electric but this wasn't the fault of the campsite more a weather issue. Grand as a base. Take wellies if it rains. Staff are there. The staff on the inflatable and the banana boat were excellent. Not alot to do in area if the weather isnt grt!

We booked in for 3 nights at the touring caravan part and had a fantastic stay. It was very quiet and peaceful and well looked after. Una checked us in reception and was very helpful and friendly. The children had a great time at the park and on the zip line. We didn't really do any of the activities but had a great time at the archery. A special shout out to Erin who was amazing with the children and for the great games given our competitive nature lol. The cafe had a great selection on their menu and it was very tasty. Again the staff were very friendly. We can't wait to go back.

Dear laurennl5440HL, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Share Discovery Village and I am sorry to read your review. I have followed up with the staff that were working on the weekend and they have confirmed that our Farmhouse which has access to boiling water etc was not locked at any stage as we had volunteers staying in this building which we would not be permitted to lock. Our pool staff were taking in person bookings over the weekend so I am not sure what happened here, however I will follow up with the staff who were working at the weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. As per the confirmation email you would have received during booking and on our website, it states that we do not permit camp fires as our camp site is surrounded by trees. Having spoken to the person that spoke to you about this, she informed me that you had created a large fire on our grass with the flames in danger of touching other people's tents. For the safety of you and other campers, you were asked to extinguish this. In your confirmation email, information leaflet you would have received upon your arrival and on our website, it states that we ask for quiet time from 10.30pm - 7.30am. Share Discovery Village tries to ensure that all those on site respect this rule. However, I would like to apologies for any noise disturbance caused. Furthermore, we did have a full range of activities available for campers to book on to. However, as most of our activities are outdoor, the majority of these had to be called off due to the wet weather that you experienced due your stay. We apologies for this, however we cannot control the weather and it is our duty to ensure that activities only take place when it is entirely safe for customers. Best regards, Darragh Collins (CEO of Share Discovery Village)

I recommended share Village to a friend of mine coming from Scotland as ive been involved with a charity that has spent 100s of thousand pounds attending this place (WSAI) She's attending with her 11 year old blind granddaughter. She contacted Share before booking and was told to book activities 2 weeks before and there would be activities suitable ie climbing wall, water inflatables for example. Went on the website to book these and after contacting share they are not running as an Easter event with balloon modelling, face painting etc for younger kids running instead. The only activity we can do is swimming which cost £25 for the family for 1 hour!! So she is literally coming all the way from Scotland for a swim. We tried to cancel booking which was booked within 8 weeks of stay and have been told its non refundable and a credit note can be issued. This is no good to a family in Scotland it will be a long time before they can afford to come back and upon booked was no advice that it was non refundable. This booking was sold on advise from staff assuring there would be activities for this child to do and now they have can't provide the service that was promised. I am soo soo very disappointed in The Share Village I don't think I would ever set foot here again or reccommend to anyone. Btw requests have been made for a call from the manager. STILL WAITING!! I've contacted the media regarding this issue as this family's £300 would've went a long way towards fun activities elsewhere!! I am aware that Share is a charity but shame on you for penalising this family!!
