We stayed for 3 nights in a double hikers' cabin. These are tiny, and because there are no window screens against the sandflies (WHY overlook something so obvious?) we had some hot and uncomfortable nights. There is no room for unpacking, so OK for one night but cramped otherwise. The setting is glorious - right on the track, beautiful views,...

A group of us recently walked the Queen Charlotte Track and this was our first nights stop. We just stayed in the basic Hiker Cabins, however they were lovely and clean with a stunning outlook over the water. Our bags were shifted by Cougar Line Water Taxi's and the staff at Furneaux made sure they were in our rooms and...

We stayed here in the first night of our 4 day walk of the Queen Charlotte track. It was a guided walk and upon arriving I could hardly walk another step. Our room was good and plenty of room with a lounge and a kitchenette. We didn't need it as our tour included everything. We had a dinner which was...

The entrance to Furneaux Lodge was a very welcome sight after a 14 kilometre walk from Ship Cove. After relaxing on the main dining room veranda for a short time, we walked the short distance to our beautifully appointed suite, which featured a separate bedroom, lounge, small kitchenette, bathroom and two outdoor areas. In-room wi-fi was available. Our accommodation had...

Comfy chalet after a long walk, good beds, shower water pressure lacking in morning. Lovely location and outlook. Expensive accommodation - understandable given the remote location and mid season. However when adding in meals (OK food but again expensive) we felt like it added up too much overall (for a family of 5) - thus.... Recommend sending out some food...

Five of us stayed one night in a two-bedroom chalet. The location is superb and it is a relatively easy walk from Ship's Cove (arriving in plenty of time to enjoy the grounds of the lodge). We made good use of the outdoor area, volleyball net and enjoyed the dogs that were around (but unfortunately it was too windy to...

Thank you for your review of your stay at Furneaux Lodge. The Chalets are ideal for family groups as you found. Furneaux has the largest flat area of all the resorts out in the sounds which gives us good areas for our guests to enjoy the location, and the outdoors.

We walked the length of the track and on our first night stayed at Furneaux lodge. Accom was basic but comfortable and did not have much choice due to the hotel being extremely busy with walkers and a wedding. When we booked we did not realise that it was a share room (with people outside of your group) so I...

Obviously those who liked this place got better accommodation than we did. Our cottage had not been updated since 1950, I'd guess. I've stayed in better places on school camps. Staff were unfriendly - didn't bother to tell us our boat would arrive half an hour early and then we had to wait another 2 hours for the next one....

We stayed in a handsome studio apartment overlooking the inlet. This was peaceful and secluded. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, well presented and tasty. The staff were friendly, helpful, thorougly professional and catered for difficult dietary problems well (dairy and gluten free). A lovely place to stay for a few days break to rest and unwind.

This lodge is located in a lovely spot; the staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms appeared to be in good shape, and well done. However, there were major downsides to Furneaux that would cause us to skip it next time. Breakfast mains cost $24 each; dinner was close to $40 for main dishes that were small and mediocre....
