Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A hidden gem. An overnight stay on a recent visit to Nottingham we were shown to the Bollinger suit. Amazing Decor. Interior design very special, clean and comfortable. Peter - the owner - goes above and beyond to make your stay everything you wish for and more. Unusual to find such a delightful hotel.

We stayed at the Lodge en route to Northumberland. We had a really great stay. The garden room is very clean and well appointed. We were offered a drink of wine when we arrived. Peter couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We had a very comfortable night and a choice of what we wanted for breakfast. We had poached eggs which were perfectly cooked. And a nice big pot of tea. Peter is a great host. We would very highly recommend the Lodge.

Wanting to avoid the impersonal experience of staying in one of the chain hotels we found this little gem in Nottingham. Perfectly positioned for the university and the city centre yet situated in the quiet village of Ruddington. Peter was the perfect host. Welcoming, charming and helpful. We stayed in the Bollinger suite which was fabulous. Airy, clean, comfortable and so tastefully furnished. Over looking the golf course we had two balconies and slept with both doors open. Breakfast was delicious! We also saw the garden suite and would recommend that too. All in all we had a lovely weekend thanks to Peter and his lovely home. We cannot recommend it highly enough! We’ll definitely be back!

The Lodge is a most pleasurable place to stay in Nottinghamshire. The host, Peter, is welcoming, accomodating, prepares bespoke breakfasts, and offers two lovely suites, one on the ground floor and a larger one on the first floor.

Excellent room and amenities with superb customer service. Peter is an exceptional host and I will definitely be returning, using this as our base for business (with a bit of leisure :). Peter’s trademark “bespoke experience” was brilliant which included breakfast at a time of your choosing with whatever you wanted. Thank’s Peter!

This is a really amazing experience. Peter is a perfect host offering a truly bespoke stay - nothing is too much trouble, and everything just happens seamlessly. The Bollinger Suite is without doubt the best room in the area, and Peter prepares whatever breakfast you want when you drag yourself downstairs - yes, it's on two levels - to your breakfast table. Parking completely secure, and a socket available to recharge the car if needed. Faultless.

6 of us stayed here and booked out both suites. It is full of luxury. There is a lovely garden you can use. It is a short walk into the village where there is a good selection of places to eat. Peter is a superb host and his staff are lovely. You can choose what time you want to have breakfast and also choose what you would like to eat, nothing is too much trouble.Peter will recommend places to go and he was kind enough to give us a lift to a local Italian. I can not recommend The Lodge enough. Thank you Peter for looking after us and being so kind.
