Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We’re very frequent visitors to Stoke Fleming/Dartmouth but usually staying with friends, or using their holiday let. This visit, that was not possible, so we gladly booked into Channel View based on our knowledge of the area. Travelling with a furry friend is not always easy, but it’s accommodated well here. Room 4 with plenty of room for a dog bed and double aspect, amazing views worked well for us! A warm welcome, all necessary facilities and a hearty breakfast all assured. Ample parking a rare treat in the area. We’ll be back when there is no room at the regular inn. Thanks Lucy, lovely to meet you! Hope to see you and the girls again soon. For anyone wanting to explore the South Hams, it makes a great base! We love this area!

A lovely place which is ready central for everything, a few minutes away from Dartmouth. The owner Lucy couldn’t have been more helpful & the breakfasts were fab. My dog was fully catered for & loved his breakfast sausage. Thank you Lucy, we will return

We stayed at Channel View in late July and were overwhelmed by Lucy's hospitality. A fabulous stay - we loved it. A great location to explore Torbay and the South Hams coast, the Hotel is situated in the quiet village of Stoke Fleming which has surprisingly good amenities and transport links. We recommend Radius 7 cafe/bistro which is literally just across the road. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything you need on-hand (including many thoughtful little touches to make you feel welcome and in a home-from-home). Breakfast was freshly cooked and flexible. Lucy is such an attentive and knowledgeable host - literally nothing was too much trouble. She provided us with an e-guide in advance of our stay with information on local eateries, beaches, transport etc. which made planning our holiday agenda so much easier. We shall be re-booking Channel View for our next Devon trip to continue exploring the area. Just fabulous, we would wholeheartedly recommend Channel View Guest House to anyone, especially dog owners. Thank you so much for making our first trip to South Devon so enjoyable and relaxing.

Stayed here in September 2021 , enjoyed our 5 night stay immensely. Lucy the proprietor is an excellent host, and really looks after her guests. The room was lovely and the view spectacular. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and well presented . You also get your own parking space ! A great base to explore a lovely part of the country . Absolutely no complaints.

Warmly welcomed by the very bubbly sociable Lucy. We had the room at the front with double aspect windows overlooking the sea and camp site across the road. Beautiful view on a sunny day. Private off road parking as well. Nothing was too much trouble for Lucy so felt very comfortable there. Blackpool Sands was a short walk away and we had a glorious day there on the beach on one of the very few sunny days we had. We also caught the bus into Dartmouth from the bus stop just yards away but be prepared to stand on a very full bus as the route is so popular. Be aware very few places to eat in Stoke. The fancy hotel up the hill, the posh restaurant on the corner or the very friendly village pub The green Dragon which won hands down!

We stayed here with our dog for a couple of nights in August and it was lovely! The breakfast was fab, the room was very clean with everything you need for your stay and the place is very dog friendly. In fact everything about this place is great. Lucy the host is wonderful, so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Thanks for having us! 😊

What's not to like here? Great location close to beaches and the number 3 bus service to Dartmouth and Plymouth. A fantastic host; great breakfasts; clean and very welcoming and off street parking too. Very happy to recommend this guest house.

Everything with this stay was super, can’t fault it at all. Don’t hesitate to book! We booked with booking.com but you can book directly with the owner. Will definitely book again if we re-visit the area.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel at home. The house is spotless. The room is lovely with its own en-suite. A good selection for breakfast. Dogs are welcome here too. Parking on the premises. Lucy the owner is a lovely woman, who also writes and currently has a book out, Cross Killer of which she will gladly sign for you. Plenty of places to visit the surrounding area. All have to be pre booked. There’s a pub, The Green Dragon and restaurant Radius 7 within walking distance. There are a couple of walking routes you can do. We walked to Dartmouth Castle.
