We stayed one night - picked to be close to golf course club where we had a dinner event. Spectacularly good breakfast and very nice host. Very steep driveway to parking. Wifi excellent, TV OK but TV is not why you are there ;-)

Hi Mathew, Thanks for choosing to stay at Mangawhai Lodge, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes the driveway is step, we have widened it and put in a fish-eye mirror to help guests but unfortunately can't do anything re the gradient. Thank you for taking the time to do a review, we really appreciate it. best...

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was very comfortable, quiet & clean. The owner was lovely and just let us relax into the place. From the lounge and balcony we had a great view of the coast! Very happy customers!

Jeanette is very helpful and friendly and gives a warm welcome. We stayed in the bed and breakfast room which was small but very comfortable and clean. The room has a large balcony where you can sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple whilst taking in the sea view. Unfortunately there are a few houses directly in front...

Thank you for reviewing us on trip advisor, you stayed in the Beachcomber B&B room which is our smallest guest room. Yes we have a couple of classic nz bachs in front of the lodge and they had a lot happening during your stay as they were re organising. Usually very sleepy in front. Best regards Jeannette

We opted for the double room with the small ensuite shower room - Beachcomber. The room is compact but comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. The bed was very comfortable, and came equipped with an electric blanket - very welcome one night when it was rather chilly outside! There is a spacious verandah with a table and seating. A lovely view...

We had an upstairs room with ensuite - small but functional. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The views were nice as long as you didn't look down into the neighbour's back yard.

Found Jeannette and the Mangawhai Lodge everything that it is made out to be - Very warm and friendly reception despite the late hour and appreciate the better room offered up. The lodge is perched high and has a great outlook to the sea and beach - which is particularly good for breakfast - which turned up too big to...

Although the apartment we stayed in was on the ground floor (no sea view) and also a little dated, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed, the host Jeannette was very helpful and had great knowledge of the area. The local village was walking distance with lovely places to eat or just sit and have ice cream etc....

This hotel is a perfect stop for the ideal location of Mangawhai. The hostess is very accomodating and informative on local attractions and where to eat. The sea views are very special. We only stayed there for one night but would of found it very easy to stay an extra few more. Breakfast was very homely. AAA+

We stayed here in an apartment for 2 nights with friends. The apartment is spacious with a lounge, 2 bedrooms, shared bathroom and kitchen plus a balcony overlooking Mangawhai Heads.
