I stayed 4 nights in the twin bed room as it has a bathroom with a bathtub immediately next to it (and I like a nice hot soak in a bath after a day's walking). The compact cosy room and bed were comfortable. I very much felt I was being welcomed into the family home, rather than just a paying customer of a business. The home made flapjacks and decanter of sherry on the in room tea tray are a very civilised touch (as is the presence of lemon and ginger herbal tea for a hot decaff drink, not just black tea, and fresh milk for one's in room tea tray). Caroline and David were happy not only to share recommendations of places to visit and eat in the area, but also (as I travelled to Bruton by train) to give me a lift into Frome, book tables for dinner, and take me to and sign me in as their guest at the Newt. The sort of personal touch that one hopes for from a good B&B! Breakfast was nice, but a more limited choice than most English B&Bs where I've stayed recently (granola and muesli with yoghurt and a choice of fruit compotes & seeds, croissants with honey & jam, plenty of tea) which might not suit everyone. (I miss my porridge & poached eggs!) My room contained a vast library of books (history, art, politics) which guests are able to borrow and read while staying there.

This is a lovely little B&B in a lovely part of the country. Caroline and David are perfect hosts, full of suggestions and ideas for things to do, and go above and beyond to make you feel at home! The room was very comfortable and clean, and we were provided with a little bit of sherry and some amazing home made flapjacks! We felt very welcomed and instantly at home. Great place to stay.

Caroline made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had booked into great tasty local restaurants to eat in the evening. She is a really thoughtful and kind host who left homemade treats in our room . The Turks Hall is a warm clean and cosy place. Thank you.

David and Caroline are lovely hosts - offering tips, advice and recommendations even before we arrived! Room was cosy and comfortable with clean bathroom and lovely hot shower. Very nice continental breakfast! David and Caroline also kindly arranged for discounted entry into the Newt! All in all a very comfortable stay and would have no hesitation in recommending Turks Hall and it’s very gracious proprietors!
