After holidaying to Molly’s Cottage at Coedllys numerous times as a child it was wonderful to return 20 years later for a family holiday. The cottage and surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and we felt so relaxed from the moment we arrived. It was lovely meeting the animals and the children loved spotting the peacocks! Thank you so much to Val and Keith for making our stay extra special. Everything was meticulously clean, and you went above and beyond in the current circumstances. I’m so pleased I had the opportunity to come back and make more happy memories, and of course see Val and Keith again. Thank you for a lovely stay, you both do an incredible job and have created something very special at Coedllys.

Oh Gemma! Thank you. I was so delighted to get the call from you asking to book to stay here with your family. We remember you and Anthony as children helping muck out and spending time helping Keith.with the animals. So to meet your lovely family and to be able to do the same with them was something very special for us too. Thank you for your lovely words and being able to share your happy memories and meet your beautiful family means a great deal to us. Our love and very warm regards to you all. Val & Keith. x

Wow!

A big thanks to Val and Keith at Coedllys Country House in Carmarthenshire. I’ve just spent 4 days here.

A truly wonderful place to stay, just 10 minutes from Laugharne and many other amazing places.

The service, food, beds and cleanliness is like you are in a 6 star hotel, the location is idyllic and unique, this is a great example of how beautiful Carmarthenshire is.

A truly undiscovered gem.

If you haven’t been, it’s well worth booking in, make sure if you can stay for a few nights as you’ll will wish you had!

The photos include a lovely scene from Laugharne on an evening walk a short drive away.

This was our second visit to Coedllys Country House and was as superb as the first one. This really is an incredible 5 star B+B with beautifully decorated rooms (wonderful attention to detail in the room and the bathroom), breathtaking scenery and grounds, and an amazing array of animals in the Animal Sanctuary that is run by Val and Keith Harber.
I couldn't fault this B+B and the hosts are warm and welcoming. Val and Keith richly deserve all the major awards they've been receiving and I only hope I will be able to get a booking the next time I'm travelling to Wales..

Returning here again is just a wonderful treat. Val and Keith's welcome is always warm and genuine. We stayed in The Swallow room. A beautiful room decorated with a mix of modern and antique furniture. The bed is beyond comfortable. My wife and I slept so well. We loved all the extras that are provided in the rooms, home made cookies, fruit, sweets to name a few. On returning to our room of an evening the lamps were on, the bed turned down, cups washed and bathroom cleaned. We especially love the breakfasts, very tasty, well cooked and presented. This is a beautiful home set in a superb location, with lovely owners and spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. The animals that Val and Keith have rescued, now have a forever home. We always enjoy meeting the animals and feeding them a carrot. Thank you Val and Keith. We will be back. (again).

This place truly lives up to its reviews and awards, and then some. The location is idyllic, our room (The Robin) looked out over the valley and we were lucky to wake up early to a beautiful sunrise. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a high end hotel but with the extra personal touches only a small business can deliver. Our hosts, including three very well-behaved dogs were very welcoming and knowledgable about the local areas. Breakfast is made to order from local produce and very enjoyable, not least the vast selection of jams and preserves many from local producers. We loved the quiet county setting with ducks, peacocks and chickens in the yard giving it a true farm feeling. We will definitely be coming back here.

We stayed at Coedllys for 4 nights whilst recently attending the B&B course that Val runs. Val and Keith are extremely welcoming hosts and ensured that we were completely looked after.
The house is in a beautiful location set within the countryside and the Robin room has fantastic dual aspect views over the hills. The house is meticulously maintained and our room was spotlessly clean. The in room hospitality tray had everything you could want, including delicious homemade biscuits and the very well stocked pamper basket is the bath is a really thoughtful touch and not something I have come across before.
If you are considering running a B&B I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the course, Val is the font of all knowledge in this area and we learnt lots that will be invaluable to us.
The bird life (including some magnificent peacocks!) around the house is a delight to watch and we developed a very soft spot for Patch the Shetland.
Thanks Val & Keith for a lovely stay.

I recently stayed at this beautiful house in the Welsh countryside with my son and nephew. We each had our own room, all of which were stunning in their own way. The photos on the website do not exaggerate the comfort and care with which this house has been prepared and the hospitality offered by Val is genuine and homely.

As mentioned above, do yourself a favour and book a few nights here, if only to sit in the comfort of your room and look out at the beautiful countryside. However, be warned, you're advised to make this your last stop in Wales, otherwise, like me, you're bound to find everything else pales into insignificance.

We stayed here as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Even though the reviews were all amazingly good, it managed to surpass my expectations! Val was brilliant from the moment I rang to book, recommending and offering to book a table for the big day at a local restaurant. When we arrived she was there to warmly greet us and show us to our beautiful room. To say we were spoilt rotten is an understatement, fresh fruit, chocolates, a variety of teas, coffees, all with fresh milk were waiting, as well as the most comfortable sofa and bed! The room was extremely welcoming and this is a first as I've never got excited about a hotel en-suite before, but this one has not on,y the usual shower-gels and shampoos, but a basket of goodies for you to use, as well as the most amazing power shower!
And the breakfast...wonderfully cooked, just as you want, if you can tear yourself away from watching the incredible display of birds through the dining room window! We were treated to a visit from the woodpecker every morning, pure joy!

The only down-side to positively reviewing somewhere like this on Trip Advisor is a purely selfish one...I want to keep this gem to myself! It really was the little touches that made coedllys so special, thanks Val and Keith
