We stayed here for one night as part of a walking holiday. Joucas is the most perfect, picturesque, little Luberon village. Very quiet and charming. The hotel is in a very attractive setting, and we had a very comfortable room, with lovely rural views over the surrounding countryside. The owners were very helpful, and the food, excellent.

The present management seem to be a friendly, fairly young family who are being very successful at making this an excellent place to stay and eat for a couple of nights. We had a room at the front of the hotel, with a magnificent view over the beautiful valley to the red cliffs of Roussillon and the Luberon mountain beyond.... More

The hotel owners and all staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great location and beautiful setting. Peaceful. Good food with a big choice. Nice swimming pool. We hope we can stay again for longer next time. We will be happy to recommend this hotel to our friends;

My wife, son, and I stayed here for two nights in July. As described in several guidebooks, Joucas is a good location for a home base in the Luberon because it is quite near popular sights such as Gordes and Rousilllon but has no crowds and is very quiet. The hotel, although not fancy, had a low-key charm and had... More

Had a lunchtime meal at this Hotels restaurant,the service was, at best terrible,and the meal was given a fancy French name but basically it was pork chop and chips with a bit of rocket. Had to ask three times for a jug of water,and the pudding we couldn't wait for, as we were there two hrs as it was. The... More

We stopped at Hostellerie des Commandeurs for lunch on a weekend in mid September while touring hill town of Luberon. It was recommended in our trusted France guide book as a place for “tasty cuisine at fair prices” worth skipping a meal in “touristy” Roussillon. This can’t be further from reality we experienced – tasteless food at steep prices. Location:... More

A nice hotel in a rural area. During our stay an electric fan was thoughtfully provided. Beds reasonably comfortable. Food quite good but uninspired on cheaper menus. The proprietor telephoned me at home to let me know the hotel would only be open from late afternoon on the day we arrive and there would only be a fixed menu available.... More

We enjoyed a weekend break at this inn in Provence. The view was lovely, the room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel had amenities including a peaceful garden terrace and a swimming pool. The owner was incredibly helpful; she suggested local sites, restaurants and helped to book them. We met friends who stayed in a 5 star hotel... More

I don't know about other people, but I typically judge on how pleasant a hotel or B&B would be right from the beginning - the correspondence with the hosts. I first emailed this hotel in mid December, and the host took 2 weeks to respond. I thought ok, it's over the holidays, a longer response time is to be expected.... More

Joucas is a tiny, quiet village, just minutes up the road from the tourist madness in Rousillon. This hotel has a splendid view, it's very quiet and the hostess is extremely friendly and helpful. A great place for families with kids - we had a pavillion which would comfortably sleep 4. There's a pool and a puppydog. The restaurant attracts... More
