Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved the location, the staff, the pools. Everyone was very attentive and helpful. Contrary to more local eating facilities, the bar pours were small and expensive. The food was delicious. Just plan on spending more than you may have thought. Pool towels are provided. The bathroom is relatively roomy--separate shower and tub, but the lighting is a bit dim. Overall, a very nice visit!

Hotel's Favourite
The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and walking distance to Clarise Beach. The room was very clean with a balcony and ocean view. Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was very tasteful. I will book this hotel again.

The service is horribly slow, especially at the pool bar! Everyone I tried to order something it took forever until finally one of the wait staff would notice me and bring over a menu. Then it took forever to put the order in and then another hour for the food to arrive! When I called out one of the waitresses for ignoring us and not taking our order after saying repeatedly I’ll be there in a sec, she was really rude with me. That’s not acceptable behavior from staff with the guests. Food and drinks are average and overpriced! In addition they add a service charge to all the check of 10% but still expect a tip for their terrible and slow service!

This hotel could be great. But as with most large corporations, profitability is all that is important. It’s simple - this hotel wants to take as much money from you as possible and make its costs as low as possible to line the pockets of the fat cats in the USA. Please do not support this. The staff are not happy, this is obvious from the moment you arrive. They are no doubt paid far too low a salary. There are not enough staff, if you need anything from reception, be prepared to wait 30mins. If you want to go for a swim in the pool, don’t expect a towel to be available - they don’t supply enough clean towels to last more than a few hours. The same goes for the gym, I went at 7:15am and there were no sweat towels available, all 7 or 8 people in the gym were similarly frustrated by this. The sun loungers on the beach are the exact same ones that have been there for the last 5 years or so, they are dirty, tatty and breaking up. The hot tub has an ‘out of order’ sign - most people will think this is temporary but I know this has been the case for at least 18months. This hotel could be so lovely but it is poorly managed at the highest level - the leadership team should be disappointed with themselves for this and recommend you look elsewhere.

Lovely hotel, not really for kids, location ver isolated for less able bodied people to eat out. Food our biggest disappointment felt like fast food no real taste or TLC in beach restaraunt rum run and lighthouse.

I’ve been to Barbados a few times and for full disclosure, I’m a Hilton Diamond Member and consequently get a different level of service to other. Excellent water pressure and temperature, good high speed internet, very clean rooms, excellent service, multiple dining options and a great bar. The beach is exquisite. The hot rob was inaccessible when I stayed there. Highly recommend if you’re comfortable spending the coin.

Your hotel could easily be outstanding with a little attention to detail. Bedrooms are a lovely size, furniture and storage is excellent, beds are comfortable. Outside you have a fantastic beach and pool, however, the cushions on loungers aren’t removed at night so with the current weather conditions are wet in the morning. Bathroom is a lovely size with shampoo, conditioner and body lotion supplied but no shower gel. I have been asking for 3 days now and told it isn’t available for my room by housekeeping that it’s being sent up by reception but it still hasn’t arrived. Housekeeping in rooms is excellent but walking down the corridor to room are plates and glasses that are left for 6 hours plus, a member of staff must see these but leave them for someone else to deal with? It is such a shame that small things are letting you down

I treated my husband to a massage and say pass at the Hilton . The massage went well, we ate lunch there was some discount included in the pass but lunch was expensive and disappointing. Then just after lunch we were informed that we could not use the pool as the chemicals needed adjusting. The pool was a funny colour could not see the bottom of the pool it was so cloudy. We complained tgst we had paid for a pool day and were only getting a sunbed for our money. My treat for my husband was a disaster we were jome just after 2 p.m. We were assured that we could come back for s complimentary pool day and would be contacted. Now it is 4 months later and not heard from them. Never again.

The Hilton experience didn't get off to a good start. We spent 50 minutes standing in a queue waiting to check in no offer of a seat, welcome drink or any attention at all. Sure reception was busy but this happens all the time and is handled so much better everywhere else I’ve stayed. You should be ashamed Hilton. We stayed in the dual aspect suite which was fantastic, very spacious with magnificent views from each of the two balconies, the one off the bedroom even had a day bed to lounge on whilst watching the sunset. I particularly enjoyed the shower in the main bathroom (yes we had a choice of two bathrooms as the suit comes with the main bedroom and what would normally be the room next door) which was huge with a view of the ocean whilst showering. Despite this the room was looking a bit tired, which is a general theme for the hotel, with paint peeling and woodwork in need of repair. There were little touches missing such as no bath robes or slippers in the room, no proper cups for coffee / tea, just paper cups. Large gaps under the doors and round the blinds meant that light ingress was an issue, we ended up putting a bath towel across the bottom of the door to stop this, not something you would expect to have to do in a luxury resort. There were four places to eat in the hotel. The Water's Edge was the pool bar serving a decent selection, I really liked the burgers here. The Rum Stop bar did decent bar type food and happy hour from 8 pm to 9 pm gave access to reasonably priced pitchers of beer. The lighthouse is the main restaurant and where you can have breakfast. Dinner here was Italian themed and I must say all the dishes we had here were very good. Finally, the Grill gave a Bajan inspired menu. This was more formal than the other and you needed to book in advance (note it is closed Sunday and Mondays). The booking process was hit and miss, twice our booking when missing, once with the Concierge and once with the Front Desk but when you did get a table the food was a treat. On top of these, there is a coffee shop in the lobby area where you can get drinks and basic food including some very nice patties. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful although one or two were rude at best and really needed some customer care training In summary, you pay luxury prices here but overall don't get the luxury hotel you are paying for.
