Den Laman Grouper (? Second floor, oceanfront, left side, two bedroom). If you are a snorkeler, what a fantastic location for shallow water photography of reefs within a short swim! Sand beaches also provide easy access and a dive shop on the property will let you use their dunk tanks.
Several top notch restaurants are available within a half mile, including some that you can walk to. Cooking within the condo is also an option as the kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, blender, and a freezer with an ice maker.
The space is huge, the Wifi works, and the views from the patio keep you coming back at all hours of the day. So, what's not to like. Well....
1) The mattresses are very firm, thin and the bed is really low to the ground by American standards. This brought back memories of college dorm sleeping decades ago.
2) A noisy bathroom fan sounded like a Cessna on take off, and the exterior position of the light switch made it difficult to use the bathroom without waking your partner up.
3) The closet is so close to the bed that when you are dressing, your partner can't get by to use the bathroom.
4) We couldn't find any wash cloths, so the next day our host came by to open up a locked cabinet within the unit where the towels were. Strange to lock up wash cloths!
5) The host mistakenly insisted that the master bedroom was the rear, non-oceanfront bedroom. After spending a few nights there, we observed the obvious differences and didn't have the heart to ask our traveling partner, a single, to switch rooms. How could you not get this right?
Be advised that Den Laman condos are individually owned and operated (no one present in the office) and that adjoining condos may be much better.
We love Bonaire, but ever since the Deep Blue View B&B closed, we are still looking for that perfect place to lodge.

My wife and I have been diving in Bonaire for 30 years. We returned last month when she surprised me with a belated birthday trip. We normally travel with about 15 family members and rent a large house. So with only the two of us we only needed a smaller condo. The Den Lamen was perfect. We stayed in the one bedroom Rough Scad room. The room was perfect for us, as we spent most of our time out and about. The room was very modern and clean. Very comfortable. The location was perfect. Onsite Dive Friends dive shop with gear storage is so convient. We always dive with Dive Friends when we visit. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Bari reef was just a few feet from our door, and one of the best dive sites on the island. Their is construction next door, but we didn't hear any noise as other users have discussed. Restaurants are just a few minutes drive away. The managers who managed our unit were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have any issues during our trip. We will book one of the two bedroom units next visit with our kids. Also we got stuck in Atlanta due to mechanicsl issues with our plane and the manager worked with us and we were anle to adjust or stay by a day so we wouldnt lose any time on the island. I highly recommend staying at Den Lamen.

We've just spent two weeks at Den Laman in the Tarpon unit, which is ocean front, top floor, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We booked through Sun Rentals, and they were excellent, with good communication, and friendly. We dealt with Eef. The unit was larger than expected, and had the most amazing views. There was air conditioning throughout, and it was spotlessly clean. Not an ant in sight. We don't dive, but had the most amazing time snorkeling. The best we've ever seen.

Wow. Thank you Ross171. Tarpon is one of our 4 waterfront units and the only 2 bedroom unit handled by Sun Rentals. Very happy they took such good care of you. We're lucky that all the rental managers do such a great job. Hope you'll come back again. Andy

Den Laman Condominium FLOUNDER is a lovely apartment in a fantastic place. For divers but certainly also for snorkelers like us. From the apartment you can walk straight into the sea (or you go from the pier) to snorkel (or dive). To both sides it is beautiful snorkeling. A great diversity of fish.
From the balcony you have side sea view. You can sit there in the shade until the evening sun comes.
The dive center is diagonally opposite. That gives a pleasant bustle. You can hear the dive center during the day (a kind of compressor seems to me). We didn't find that bothersome.
At the bottom of the complex is a restaurant, with a lovely terrace on the water, where you can eat deliciously. The restaurant is not open every day.
The apartment is within walking distance of the pier to Klein Bonaire.
Cecile and Simon, the administrators, are friendly and very helpful.
We also explored the island with a scooter. You have to be careful because the roads are full of holes.
For us a place to definitely go back to.

It’s fine. For divers that don’t have other objectives, this building is worth the amount paid. I had a partial ocean view facing the dive shop (away from the construction) and it had all the basics. Found the reef nice for diving but so-so for snorkeling (lots of fish variety but not much else) and enjoyed the location out of the town and close to several eateries. Would not stay here again.

+1
First time to Bonaire, and picked Den Laman because of the reputation of the Bari Reef outside. First the positives. A very convenient location close to town, on a small beach with decent snorkeling and excellent access to dive shop and facilities. Sunwise, the rental managers had very good communication, and were responsive and accomodating. The unit we were in, called Rough Scad was spacious and had a well equipped kitchen. Rough Scad faces the parking lot and street. Wi-Fi and AC worked well. The not so positive, The room was a little run down, our toilet leaked, a faucet handle fell off, there were stains on the bed cover. The floor had a fine layer of sand like it had not been swept well or mopped.
On a budget, this place is okay, considering the location and access to dive facilities. We had fun.

Wonderful location for a diving adventure. Our apartment was well equipped and had an excellent view of the ocean and Klein Bonaire. Dive Friends was on-site and a great spot for boat dive adventures as well as a shore dive spot for tanks. The condominium is concrete, so sound does travel, but the upstairs apartment (hosted by Sunrentals) was all we could ask for. Breeze and Bites is downstairs for an afternoon drink or evening dinner (lunch also available). Some nearby construction caused some noise issues, but that should be a temporary condition.

We were 2 couples staying for two weeks. The bedrooms were fine and so were the washrooms. The balcony was nice, it could have used a sitting area in addition to the dining area. Overall the accommodations were ok, but some of it quite dated. The stove was very slow and not very efficient, the exhaust fan and light over the stove were not functioning, the unit was actually taken apart. The supply of pots and pans was very limited, considering this is a unit supposed to be used as living quarters.
Communication was good, and the cleaners were very nice.
The restaurant is ok, Thursday night burgers are great, but the rest of the menu is not very extensive.
Unfortunately during our stay, there was a lot of construction work next door, and the apartment was continually submitted to noise and lots of dust. Obviously it was not the fault of Den Lamar, but it did tamper the whole experience. Hopefully this construction will be completed soon.

Our first time in Bonaire after several trips to Cayman and Little Cayman. Outstanding experience with an amazing facility! Rented 2 bedroom ocean front. 15 steps to shore. Actually one of the best diving spots on island. Will be back!

Hi swanx5- So happy you had a nice stay. It's true that Bari is one of the best diving spots on the island. We were once told it has the highest diversity of fish almost on the entire Atlantic Seaboard. Hope to see you back soon.

Den Laman is worth it.
We are diver's who dont like to stay in dives... if ya know what I mean. Den Laman is anything but a dive. The condos are pracitcally brand new and immaculate. Tile floors, stainless stell appliances in the kitchen with cherry colored cabinates, LCD TVs with DVD and surround sound, and a great view from our second floor 2 bedroom/2 bath oceanfront room. Sunsets every night! Don't let the word condos scare you away... there is NO ONE pushing time shares here!!!
We reserved a package that included the room, rental car(4 passenger truck with tank rack for shore diving), and unlmited shore diving (Nitrox is free, with a week long air package). The price was competitive with all the bigger resorts on the island. That being said... I would have paid more to stay there.
Incredible diving is right out the back door. Bari Reef, the #1 rated reef in the Caribbean is a stride away. Sea horses, octopus, frog fish (others found them I dod not... grrrr) and anything else you want. It's there, you just have to find it. Bonaire Dive and Adventure is on site. Secure gear storgae is available as well.
The condos are just north of the capital, and centrally located within the countless shore diving oppurtunites.
Hilde, the manager, was great!! Always helpful should you seek her out. You may just see her heading down to the dock to snorkel after she is done working for the day. She runs a top notch place... shame that very few know about it yet. But with service and accomodations like that it will not be unknow for long.
More than likely, if you are reading this... you're a diver. If that's the case... book it. You wont be disappointed. I'm already trying to figure out how to go back ASAP.

We have enjoyed several dinners at Den Leman, Buddies have got two decent places to eat at, Sebastian’s, is excellent as well! I would make recommendations!
Sorry, there were no chairs on the beach. The small beach slopes rather steeply so wouldn’t be level enough for sunloungers. There is a ground floor condo that was empty for the three weeks that we stayed there and there were six sun loungers on a large patio area that we used a few times. There were also a few armchairs that you could use just overlooking the beach.
Hi!
There is one oceanfront one bedroom apartments with a king (two single beds or (with a thick mattress topper turned into) King.
If you prefer this unit, please specifically mention 'Barracuda' for your preference, because of the Kingsize bed and we will let you know of that unit is available for your requested dates.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
We stayed in one of the ocean front 1 bedroom condos for nearly 2 weeks at the end of 2017 and for 2 weeks in the summer of 2018. These rooms have large balconies that face west, rather than south toward Coco Beach. We occasionally could hear music from Coco Beach, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights, mostly while we were out on the balcony. The music was not loud and did not seem to go late.
Visitors to Coco Beach do not come down to Den Laman. There is a relatively good sized parking area and beach between Den Laman and Coco Beach. The parking area is for public access to Bari Reef, for diving. The Sand Dollar/Den Laman pier is only for guests at one of the two. There were occasionally groups of snorkelers a little south of Den Laman, I don't know if they were from Coco Beach or entered from the public lot. They were not around much or long, caused no inconvenience.
We're going back for 2 weeks next month. We go nearly entirely for the diving and take advantage of Dive Friends on site, boats leaving from the pier, best access to Bari Reef, the gear storage room, and the full kitchen for food prep. The balcony, mentioned above, is the best place to sip a beer and watch the sun go down after a great day of diving.
"Onsite dining is mostly closed, but Panino, Krispy Chicks, Doner Station, and Luciano's ice cream are only a 5 minute walk away."Read full review
