Can hotel be really this bad? You bet. We booked an executive suite recognizing we would have to gear down our expectations. We had no idea. The rooms were large and could have been okay if they weren't musty. They locked all the windows so forget any sea breeze. Moldy bathrooms and undrinkable tap water - according to the signs....

For a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, sit in one of those comfortable chairs or couch and have a Cuban cigar and a cocktail while looking out at the Malacon and the sea. There's also a Memorial Hall with pictures and artifacts that you should visit next to the patio bar. Don't miss going to the second floor to...

A grand historic old hotel which lives off its old-world reputation. It doesn't meet the standards of 5 star hotels elsewhere in the world, but you don't come to Cuba expecting all the mod cons. The whole place oozes class and character, unmatched by anything else in Havana. The terrace overlooking the sea is a special place to have a...

This Hotel is a 7/5 on history and culture, but an honest 2/5 on the scales of luxury and comfort of a 5 star hotel. Rather disappointing is the value for money at >$400 a night. Then again, you are in Cuba and you're not paying for the experience of the standard 5 star hotel. You should consider this an...

We stayed there for one night. Other than the fact that the cost was criminally overpriced ($600/night), the service by indifferent state employees was the worst we received in all our travel experiences. It started out with the booking process. We went to the reception desk toask for room availability and after being told that there was nothing availble, then...

Elegant grand dame institution of Havana. Room old style - not enough room in bathroom for anything. Not enough outlets but free internet. Comfortable beds- quiet air conditioner. Breakfast on executive level small but adequate. All in all - you must overlook any faults because this hotel reeks of history. Besides, my parents honeymooned here in 1935. The hotel opened...

Where to start.... first of all pulling up to the hotel is breathtaking.... The building and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are also beautiful but could for sure use updating. Maybe I was expecting more because of what we paid… Approximately $650 a night which in my opinion is a lot for what we got. It was a two...

I just wanted to visit the hotel hall and I was immediately approached by a member of the staff proposing to pay a 15 euro ticket for a tour of the Mafia Bar and a Mojito. I accepted, but I had time to regret it. Well, what can I say....just to make an example...you know when you enter into an...

We were invited as part of a group for a celebration in Havana and did not know really what to expect. The hotel is full of history and you can see the glimpse of glamor days of the past. It is however an old hotel and I am not yet sure it the staff is ready for the overwhelming numbers...

THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE HOTEL I did not stay at the hotel, but came for the cigar store and lunch, but decided against lunch (keep reading). It's a beautiful property no doubt and no trip to Havana would be complete without visiting but the employees were so rude I would never go back. We first went to the...
