We arrived at hotel and the staff was indifferent. Initially they gave us a room on a lower floor which was unacceptable because of mold and overall condition of the floor. We went back to the lobby and they re-assigned us to the 16th floor which was remodeled and clean. Our new room was clean and had a spectacular view...

Tryp Havana Libre is managed by the Melia chain and they are to be commended on a fantastic job of running a large hotel in a very difficult environment. Centrally located within walking distance of Hotel Nationale and with freshly updated panorama rooms this hotel is highly recommended for those looking for a safe clean and convenient place to stay....

Knowing the poor quality of the hotels in Havana, you do not have too much expectations. Hotel Habana Libre was certainly a very beautiful hotel in 1980. Very well situated for exploring Havana. But since then, there is no longer done any maintenance. Where the lobby is still OK, when you arrive at the floors, out of the elevator, parts...

In order to visit Cayo Santa Maria I was obligied to stay at a hotel (don't know why but cuban agencies do it). After an amazing Casa Particular experience I was extremely disapointed of going to a hotel. Habana libre offer slow and abusive priced wifi (it's easier to get an ETECSA card and use it in the lobby than...

This Hotel is old and has seen better days. The room we had on the 9th floor was shabby but relatively clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was acceptable. From the six elevators only 2 seemed to be working and average waiting time is 15 minutes, a disaster. On our next visit we will chose another hotel.

I'm not sure why this hotel is rated so low; perhaps it's because of the price (my stay was part of a package), or maybe unrealistic expectations. I had a room on the 15th floor, and it was immaculate; I had a wonderful view; the service was spectacular in every way; the included breakfast was excellent; and there were many...

This is an interesting hotel. It was originally a Hilton taken over by Castro. It has seen better days, the rooms are a little shabby but certainly acceptable. The lobby is still grand. Food and service is very good. The suite Castro used when he entered Havana after the revolution is open for viewing with an appointment and is worth...
