We stayed at the Presidente for the week that included Thanksgiving. Having read reviews on this site that mentioned mold problems in the hotel, we asked for a room in the renovated section of this older building. We got a large room on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the ocean. It was well-appointed, recently painted and did...

Was here over Christmas 2016 but did not have a room. I utilized their property for drinks on the wrap around porch, music and purchased WiFi cards when available. Very kind, helpful and professional staff. Nice pool. Next time in Cuba I will try and stay here.

The hotel is rated 4 stars by whoever rates these things in Cuba. I did like the atmosphere, even though the lobby is dusty and the rooms are just adequate. We were lucky that the bathtub in our room worked as a bathtub and as a shower. We had hot enough water for both of us to shower. The Air...

I will keep this short as it doesn't need a long explanation. DO NOT stay at this hotel. the food is so bad the thought of it puts me off eating. Nothing is nice about this hotel. I travel a lot and I have standards, which this hotel doesn't. We were moved after one night.

This hotel was probably great in it's day but is suffering from lack of maintenance. All the people in our group had stories of things broken and reporting the problem got no response. After taking showers we heard a crash and the ceiling tile was in the tub. We reported it but no one even came up to remove the...

I've given this hotel 4 stars because I really liked the atmosphere. My friend thought it merited 3 stars. To be fair it really is a 3.5 star hotel. TripAdvisor - how about allowing half stars? I would use this hotel again if I were to have another stay in the New Havana area but I think I would like...

This hotel is located near the malecon (waterfront seawall, promenade) in what was once an upscale neighborhood (now rather gritty). There is a considerable walk to old Havana, taking a taxi is preferable. The hotel itself seemed clean and comfortable and well maintained, the air conditioning was excellent. There is a very nice lounge and bar in the lobby with...

I have stayed at the Hotel Presidente both for business and vacation and always found the hotel to be pleasant, clean and comfortable with all the amenities one would expect at this level of hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful and attentive and Ivan in the bar/lobby area and Rolando in the restaurant/kitchen are of particular help. The food...

Was at the hotel 12/24, staff rude and unhelpful. Also made the mistake of eating breakfast at the buffet and it was horrible. The staff was arrogant and rude in every way! They insisted I go to the lobby to buy coffee with an additional charge. It's clear they hate American tourists. The lobby staff equally rude with attitude. Taxi...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The ROC-Hotels Presidente **** is located just 3 kms from the old historical part of Havana, "La Havana Vieja", a twenty minutes drive from the Jose Marti International Airport. It is only 20 minutes from the East Side beaches and 200 meters from the renowned Amadeo Roldan Theatre. Located in El Vedado, only 200 meters from the famous Pier of Havana, "el Malecon", on the Avenue of the Presidents, and flanked by the Cuban Foreign Office and the "Casa de las Americas", the Hotel Presidente rises gracefully with its 10 floors of history and in its peculiar colours of vermilion. The Roc-Hotels Presidente characterises itself for being housed in a spectacular building from the 1920's, being the first skyscraper in the city of Havana, and for its breathtaking interiors representing the era it was built in, but with all its modern comfort and services that the client seeks. The Hotel was reformed in 2011 following a clear luxury style and keeping all the grandeur of its recent history that included many famous personalities of diplomacy and business companies, as well as the art world. It is for this reason that an exquisite care was taken to preserve every detail during its restoration and decoration. Throughout the interior of the Hotel, displayed are more than 400 classified pieces of art, giving a very unique taste to the guests from the moment of their arrival. They can enjoy the "Lobby Museum", relax by the poolside, or go on interesting excursions to Pinar del Rio, Varadero, Santa Maria del Mar or other famous sites nearby. We offer bed and breakfast (CP board), breakfast and dinner ( Half board). We have WIFI in all rooms and all service areas. ... more   less
