Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are looking to be in the center of the action (Punda and Otrobanda) restaurants, museums, galleries, public transport etc., this is a very good option. It's not expensive, the rooms and the place are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful (like Paty) BUT the rooms need an update. That is why the hotel is in renovation and in my opinion is going to be for a long time, so you have noises from the renovation, music and people from outside, and the soundproof inside is not great. Also there's some bedrooms with bad odors issues (caused by sewers they say) like ours and we did have to change our room. We also encounter drug sellers on the street outside of the hotel.

This is probably a two star hotel. I never care because I sleep only in hotel when away not stay in room. Room was bare but clean. I believe mine was recently renovated. AC works well so comfy for sleep. Water pressure for shower almost nil. It does the job barely. Casino is not in hotel and only slots. You get free coffee that breakfast. No issue as I like to move around for that anyways. Not a bad spot easy walk to many places.

I travelled with my family to Curacao. We stayed at San Marco Hotel, cosy, clean facilities, pleasant staff. The place was under construction at the time, nonetheless we had a great stay! The location is everything, very easy to move around. We'll definitely be back.

The service at this hotel is beyond exceptional. The staff go above and beyond to help their visitors. Were it for this alone the hotel would be five star. However, the hotel itself is rather sparse and dated, with no amenities. The rooms have a bed a shelf, and a safe and that is it. There is an open rod to hang clothes, but no dressers or cupboards to put clothes away. The bathroom has no hot water in the sink and poor water pressure and tepid temperatures in the shower. The bathroom looks like it hasn't been remodelled since the 80's. The air conditioning is excellent, bordering on too cold! That being said the cost is extremely cheap. So if you are going to this hotel, expecting 5 star amenities for such a low price you need to reach into your wallet and fork over some more money. The location of this hotel is perfect. You are in the middle of everything. You can walk to everything, no car rental is required. If you plan to spend most of your days taking in the experience of Curacao, and will only sleep in your room, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a hotel with a pool, or oceanfront do not stay here, you will need to spend a bit more to get that.

Location. Location. Location. San Marco is a great little hotel that ticks all the boxes for a stay in Willemstad. It is five minutes from all the city's main attractions and has that European feel with outdoor dining on pedestrianized areas along its front door. Comfy beds, great Wi-Fi, clean rooms, 24/7 hot water and very helpful staff that understand proper hospitality.

I was looking for something in Punda, budget property . Since I only needed two nights and wasn't going to be in the room much. And San Marco hotel was perfect. Staff nice. hotel clean. But most important it was the location for me.

I stayed here for 15 nights in Jan/Feb 2022. The price was brilliant – about £34 per night in peak season. The reception is on the first floor (UK floor terminology, or 2nd floor for US!) via lift. My room was on the 3rd floor which apparently was recently refurbished. The accommodation is basic. There is no wardrobe – there are 8 coat hangers, a suitcase stand, a room safe, a drawer, two bedside cubby holes, a double bed, good air conditioning and a flat screen TV (with UK, US and Dutch channels). The floors are tiled. The bathroom had only cold water (no problem for a 30C climate), a bath but no plug, a good shower, a sink (but no plug) and soap and shampoo replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily. Free breakfast was discontinued (maybe due to Covid) but there was coffee every morning in reception. The local McDonalds provided a very cheap breakfast solution. Wifi in the hotel is brilliant and protected. So, it is a very basic accommodation, but if you are someone who doesn’t want a Jacuzzi and a private beach and is in Curacao to explore and discover this amazing island rather than wallow in luxury, then it is a very cost-effective and satisfactory accommodation – and a 15-night stay went brilliantly. And the location is right in the middle of Punda, Willemstad!

Nice hotel in the middle of Willemstad. Restaurants and the bridge are nearby. Reception is modern decorated. The room was clean, only the Bath room was a little bit old. Next to the hotel is a great Palace for breakfast! Perfect for a few days

The hallways but also the rooms really need to be refurbished asap. There isn't even a watercooker or a hairdryer in the room. The good part is that the staff is very friendly and the hotel is in the heart of the historic areas. In the end, you pay for what you get. I paid like 47u$ per night, which is not bad.
