The place is gorgeous and provides an organic, peaceful, delightful and unique experience. Our room was rustic, artistic and balanced. It was great to know music was always playing as a small river could be heard our room, and the singing birds in the morning provied additional soothing sounds. The staff was attentive, warm, and precise to attend to our... More

My daughter and I stayed at Cocoa Cottage at the end of September and enjoyed every minute. Our space was an elevated tree house with screen doors and windows and an enormous verandah all the way around - all set in the midst of a rain forest and a rushing stream below. We loved the breakfast of fresh local fruit.... More

Remarkable accomodations in the Roseau Valley. Wonderful proprietor and friendly staff. The food, partially prepared by the proprietor, was excellent and only equalled, but not surpassed by one meal in Roseau. The arcitecture was interesting. The location on running water was great. A successful landscaping effort. A great venue for a couple.

What a fantastic respite away from the hustle and bustle of real life! I chose Cocoa Cottages as my destination on Dominica for the first half of our visit to the island in order to experience Extreme Dominica on my milestone birthday. Iris was so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed in advance of our stay as well as... More

Our three night stay in the Cocoa Cottages can be summarized by two words: Insect Repellent. As in, if you choose to stay here, you will need to use lots of it to keep all of the mosquitoes and other biting insects from having a buffet while you sleep. From the moment we decided to stay at the Cocoa Cottages... More

Thank you for your review, We appreciate any feedback, and make sure all concerns are addressed. It is clear that Rain forest stay, especially Cocoa cottage is not the right environment for you, Da excursionist. I am sad though that you choose to battle for three nights instead of sharing your concerns with us, as we would have loved recommending... More

Since before we arrived, Iris, was extremely accommodating and friendly. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and Iris helped to set up a lovely surprise the day of and a basket with goodies! It was like I had known her for years. We stayed in the tree house, which I loved. I will note it is very open (no closed doors),... More

Beautifully tranquil cottages set in verdant forest. There is even a little stream running through the property at the bottom of the valley in front of the cottages. About 50 minutes walk to Trafalgar Falls, and a short drive down into Roseau. Our room was a large very colourfully decorated bedroom area with a small cane sofa, separate bath/shower/toilet room,... We stayed in the tree house, open to all sides, so we were disappointed by the age and condition of the mosquito nets. They seemed dirty, old and had enormous holes in them and should have been replaced long ago. Other than that the stay was very enjoyable, although our hostess, Iris, was lovely and mostly helpful, she did appear... More

Greetings from beautiful Dominica and Cocoa Cottage, Dear Ian, Thank you for the lovely comment and for advising me and the world about the condition of the mosquito nets. You arrived right as a group of 19 school kids left, few of them stayed at the tree house and must have pulled on the nets, it also doesn't take a... More

Welcome to Cocoa Cottage--Dominica Mind Body Adventure. Cocoa Cottage is an artistic guest house located in the heart of the Roseau Valley, only a few miles from town but worlds apart. This valley is home to many waterfalls, sulfur pools, rivers, and various trails, all within minutes' drive of the cottage. Our kitchen provides food for the soul, using the plentiful offerings of our island. At any time you'll find yourself deep in lively conversation with someone you just met, connecting, sharing, inspiring and being inspired.
