This resort was so far from what we expected. It has NO elevators and the piano bar, night club and Sunset bar are all above the ground level with only stairs to reach them. I really felt sorry for the people on the third floor. Who wants to climb stairs after a long day of sun and fun. The bed were comfortable and there are plenty of pillows. I would have liked a thin blanket instead of the hot duvet. There is no clock, radio or alarm in the rooms. Other resorts we have stayed at included beer and snacks in the mini bar, not here. There is only one place to get beach towels, the sports center and most times they are "out". They promised to deliver some to us at one of the pools, but never did. There are three pools and each has a swim-up bar, nice right? Would be if the liquor was of any quality. Two days one of the bars only had "Distillers" Scotch, which I wouldn't touch. Gordon Gin, Smirnoff Vodka. They did have Appelton Rum all the time and Jim Beam sometimes.
The buffet is sufficient, but nothing outstanding. The best restaurant is the "Moonstone" which is Italian. They had some interesting and tasty dishes, but we felt like it shouldn't have been our only decent option. The "Platinum" restaurant has some nice options, however men must wear long pants and close toed shoes. Come on, the floor were dirty and tiles chipped. The walls were dingy and the service extremely slow. This could have been overlooked if they weren't picky about their dress code and touting it as "fine dining venue". We were so disgusted by day three, if we could have gotten a refund and flown home without hefty penalties for changing flights, we would not have stayed the full eight days. We counted days until we could leave.

We just returned from the Jewel Paradise Cove a few days ago. The weather was perfect, the resort was very clean, the drinks were the best and the food was delicious. The pros were: our room was big, the ac was great, tv had many premium channels. The drinks were the best of any all inclusive resort we have been to, our favorite bartender was Mario but all were very good. The food at theMoonstone and Platinum was superb and the jerk grill on the beach was to die for. Sailing on a hobie with Dewayne was a blast. This resort is secluded. We did go on the shopping trip if not for the scenery and Richard’s history lesson it would have been a slight waste of time. The entertainment was good too especially the Silver Bird Steel Drummers they were amazing. First time to Jamaica after ten trips to Mexican resorts and we were very impressed. The only con that I can think of is our shower water could have been warmer.
My wife and I spent 5 nights at Jewel Paradise Cove recently and had a great time! The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They were great with my wife's food allergies. The bartenders Patrick, Ronaldo and Sean always had a smile and worked hard. The entertainment staff did a great job as well. Bradley, Shavella, Martin, and Jason had us laughing and getting involved in things. Also have to thank DWayne at the front desk for his help and also Janell who always took care of us at breakfast.
This was our first trip to Jamaica but definitely not our first rodeo at an all inclusive. We were SHOCKED at the quality of food and drinks! The bartenders at the swim up bar went above and beyond to keep our group happy. Red Stripe is the only beer served but the variety of quality hard liquor was impressive. The buffets had a good variety each day and the service was spot on with hot coffee and drinks being promptly served. The omelet bar was everyone's favorite. Not only for the actual food but for the performance the cooks did while preparing 4 omelets at once time. Everyone on the resort was SO cordial and polite. I don't think we came across a grumpy or disgruntled employee the entire time we were there. The accommodations were not the fanciest that we have every stayed at but they were clean and well cared for. The customer service you receive will make up for any minor upgrades that haven't been made. You will leave the resort pampered, well fed and rested :)

Location The resort is located about 5 min drive from Runaway bay. The hotel provides free transportation from Montego Bay airport which is around 1hr 15 minute drive away. From Kingston airport was quoted by resort - 400US$ one way, journey time is 2 hours. So decided to hire a car as it’s less than half that price & roads are fairly straight forward along the north south highway. Though there is a toll which is around 1200J$. In the vicinity is some famous cave nearby & Dunn River falls about 30 min drive. The hotel provide a free group transport to that & shopping in Ocho Rios also same travel time. There is not much in vicinity, odd bar, convenience stores etc on side of main road. Nine miles is about 45 minutes drive away. Room Originally had a pool view room but due to noise issues in the evening, coming from hotel club, they moved me to junior suite in the quietist building. The junior suite is a large spacious room, with combined bedroom & living room within the large space. High & comfortable large king size bed with alarm clock, bed side tables & lamps. Faces large wardrobe cabinet with large flat screen TV offering 52 channels, mostly US cable networks. The living room offers a two person sofa but also two arm chairs with large coffee table. A typical US filter coffee machine & mini bar faces the seats which consists of free non alcoholic water & soda. Though mine was empty initially & had to wait over an hour just to get a bottle of water. There is also large TV & a small double door offering no balcony but able to open doors to outside with a plank amount of space. View was nice with some sea offered. There is also a convenient small room with a large open plan wardrobe. Large laptop size safe is also here. Bathroom was ok size since they offered a jacuzzi functioning bath tub. Amenities include small bottles branded from hotel. Overall nice clean classical decor with a nice ambiance for beach hotel. Facilities Being a resort there are 4 or 5 pools, most with swim up bars, one with a large flute slide though generally at this adult resort no one was using it. Since all inclusive all drinks are free, so some pool have more a drinking party vibe to others. Annoyingly for the main pool, near the large main beach they have this announcement system for activities & quizzes with music playing in between. If you want peace & relaxation bring your headphones. The beach is lovely. Palm trees plenty of loungers including double floating ones in the sea which were perfect for sun bathing. The sea is clear but they have a barrier zone & it doesn’t even come above the shoulders at the deepest point, so fine for non-swimmers to just walk about. There is also a second quieter beach which is smaller & offers more snorkelling- with fishes to be seen. Hotel provide masks. Nice spot including decking. Catering includes 5 restaurants — Japanese teppanyaki style & only one that requires reservations which had a two day wait on my visit so was unable to try it. They do though have a sushi bar which was quite nice. Large buffet restaurant though some nights ala carte under the stars set up around the pool. This is also where breakfast is at & was a decent offering & quality of food. Also Italian restaurant which hardly does much Italian food & overall found this place most disappointing. Also a comfort food pool restaurant with decent burgers, hot dogs & salads etc. They had an incredible J Chicken BBQ during lunch as well- delicious on the beach. There is about 4-5 bars around pools quite lively at times due to the endless free supply of alcohol. At the main beach they have some water activities such as Hobikat sailing boats, but you can’t drive it or take it on your own, unlike other places I've been to. They do a half hour trip. Also canoes & cycling boats. Glass bottom boat doors and snorkelling. Quite good saw many fish. Also believe they do scuba diving. The hotel has a gym, tennis court & an exercise track walk etc for those that can be bothered, but personally the resort is quite a lot of walking in itself my room was at least 7 min walk from reception, plus there is no elevators at any building. They also have a spa & special VIP cabanas that one can pay to hire, a large gift shop & games area with ATM machine. But you can’t change money at this resort to get Jamaican dollar as even ATM dispenses USD. Off course plenty of activities mostly cheesy exercise in the pool for the older ladies, found the music & PA disturbs the chilled out Jamaican ambience, unless when they rarely play Bob. At night it is quite noisy as well due to shows & then DJ night club. I preferred lying in the many hammocks around the property. For smokers you must go to designated spots, hotel seemingly says nothing about guests sharing bob’s favourite remedy but it’s not in your face. Hotel also has a tour desk & small free car park. WIFI also works fine at most areas though times it’s slow. Overall really clean, nice facilities & love all inclusive. Staff Staff are really polite, enthusiastic & in all areas a lovely bunch. Give them 5 stars for friendliness. Sometimes though there are not very efficient such as getting drinks at the beach and ensuring room is properly prepared. Definitely would love to come again but wouldn’t recommend if you require all time quietness & don’t drink.

Platinum is the strict one. It is resort elegant. No Jean's, shorts, tshirts, or tanks. Men are required to wear closed toe shoes also. I have seen guests turned away from this restaurant for not having the proper attire. Women can pretty much wear whatever. The rest of the restaurants are more relaxed dress code.

My husband and I are dairy, wheat and gluten free and we did not have any problems feeling satisfied with the food selection. Because we were on vacation we did eat some items we normally would not have, as a treat, but in general the selection was good. You should not have any problems. The jerk hut is located in the beach and I'm sure if you have any concerns you could just inquire as to the spices used in some of the dishes.

In October we went on the complementary excursion at 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday returning to the resort at about 1:00 p.m, but the excursion was offered other days as well. Dates and times may have changed and I would therefore advise you to see the concierge in the lobby early on in your trip to find out the available dates,, and book quickly as the transport can fill up fast..
