Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very good stay, was in PR for work, staff was great, was given an arm band and I asked for a room key to make it easy for getting out of the deck. My room was quite facing the beach/water. We ate our dinner it the hotel restaurants after a long day. Food was good, most meals were not to pricey.

Hotel's Favourite
We've stayed here many times over the years, and it's truly an iconic property. But what really makes us return is the staff and the level of service they provide. A few standouts are Miguel the waiter in the lobby bar, Arlene, Ninoshka, and Justin at the pool and beach, Hector at valet, and Efraim the waiter at the breakfast restaurant. All of the staff is consistently excellent, but these people go over and above.

A conference hotel, too much late night corridor noise, but nice staff, very helpful within limited scope. General accommodation very poor, lobby to elevator loads of cracked tiles, bathroom - bath needed replacing, tap/shower needed replacing as our first attempt to use it resulted in it falling to bits. No where to hang damp towels. No water or water glasses in the room, balcony - rusty vents, flaking plaster, adjacent to a busy local airport so loads of small aircraft noise. On site restaurants very expensive and not particularly good. No room cards, only wrist bands which cost $100 if they fall off and are lost.reminded me of hospital wrist bands, had to sleep in them, just awful. But nice location.

Possibly one of the worst hotels I have stayed in - pubic hair in the bath, damaged enamel in the bath, lift noise permeating through to the room, damaged fascia around the sink, damaged balcony furniture, guest noise at 2.30am, loud music around the pool on Sunday, Apparently a $100m refurbishment was completed in 2019 - Hilto should ask for a refund.

I wanted to share some feedback from our recent visit to Hilton Caribe in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, it was quite a disappointment. First off they do not allow Uber drivers to drop you off by the lobby, so we had to drag all of your luggage to the front desk. I think this could be a big inconvenience for those staying for a longer trip or like to pack extra, or for anyone traveling with strollers or walkers etc. Once at the front desk we were greeted with a luke warm reception after a lengthy wait. The staff seemed indifferent. Also they no longer provide room keys. It’s now a bright colored wrist band which you get to wear around town to possibly advertise the brand? If you loose it there’s an extra $100 fee. In addition to all the other fees. The room itself was outdated and had cleanliness issues. We paid for an oceanfront view, which we got if we stood on a very small and awkwardly shaped balcony facing it. Otherwise we got a view of an abandoned building as well as the lower level of the Hiltons yellowish brown roof which was flooded with water and debris. To top it off there were dirty wet cigarette butts on the chipped tile of the balcony. We had difficulties obtaining absolute basic amenities like glassware, and the staff's response was unsatisfactory. When paying $400+ per night for a room it is absolutely expected to have basic necessities in the room, which was also small by the way. The furniture was old and the curtains were musty and had seen better days. There wasn’t a mini fridge in the room, and the bathroom was chipping and peeling from the floor to the ceiling. The coffee maker looked like it was from the 90s and it had two plastic wrapped styrofoam cups next to it. We called the front desk and after a couple of times eventually got someone on the line and asked for one wine and one whiskey glass. We were told it’s an extra $6.00 fee and approximately a half hour wait to have them delivered. When asked if we can just pick it up ourselves down at the lobby we were told no as they had their delivery fee so they would bring it up. Reluctantly we agreed. We were then delivered two wine glasses. Which is not what we asked or paid an additional $6.00 fee for. When we advised that this is not the glassware we requested and paid for the staff did not care. When I told the staff that this is the level of service one would expect at $75 travel inn on the side of the highway they also did not care. What alarmed me the most out of this whole situation was their lack of concern when we decided to cancel our stay, less than an hour of getting there. I had a gut feeling this was only going to get worse. Staff told us that the general manager Sharyl Toko has granted us permission to leave without charging us. Well thank goodness for that as we were physically in that room for maybe 45 minutes. We booked elsewhere and dragged our luggage out. Again Uber is not allow upfront. Do NOT waste your money on this “luxury” resort. Fe Fi Fo FEE for everything Fee because they can Fee! This is an embarrassment for the Hilton brand. Poorly ran and in desperate need of an update, which it appears they can certainly afford with all the extra fees they have been collecting. I believe it is important to provide honest feedback, as it helps businesses improve their services. I hope that by sharing this experience, future guests can have a better stay, elsewhere.

Very expensive hotel for what you get...breakfast is a shocker whilst the food is reasonable you have to wait for 45 minutes until you get a table despite the fact that the restaurant is empty it just ages to clean and prepare the tables as per attached photos. The beach is very dirty and needs a clean up. Reception is under stuffed..

The hotel was fine, everything we needed, just a bit dated. I didn't love the food but I'm pretty picky, my husband enjoyed it fine. We stayed in the beach wing on the 5th floor overlooking the ocean. The room was well equipped and comfortable. For some reason we had to ask for shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion but it arrived quickly when we did. The rooms are a bit dated and ready for a remodel but still fine. The AC worked great, which is important to me! Absolutely loved the pool area and the beach bar. The Bartender, Roberto Chireno, was so helpful!! He gave wonderful recommendations for places to go around the island, and his drinks were delicious.

Leilany Puentes at the front desk was an amazing front desk staff person. Went above and beyond to be helpful. But the kitchen staff screwed up my order. Never sent the correct food. Paid $40 for a cheeseburger I never received.

I really enjoy the beauty of the hotel and the friendly staff. However, my wife and I love watching sunrises together. We headed to the pool area to grab a seat to watch it and we were denied entry. We explained to the guard and at the front desk that we only wanted to see the sunrise and we were still denied entry. They gave us the option to go to the garden area to watch, but there are no seats available to watch the sunrise in this area. My wife gets terrible back aches if sitting without a backrest for too long. It simply does not make sense for me to pay for a higher end beach hotel in the Caribbean, if I cannot enjoy the facilities for something as harmless as watching a sunrise. It completely ruined the experience.

Great location, lots to do on site. Loved that we didn’t have to leave to go to the beach. Not too far from airport and plenty to do near the hotel. First trip with our baby and we had a great time, we will definitely visit again!
