This might be a long post, so if you don’t want to read the whole thing, just read this: BEST TRIP/ STAY OF OUR ENTIRE LIFE!!!! From the moment we stepped foot on the resort we felt so special and lucky to experience this gorgeous piece of paradise! Our room was exquisite, right on the beach! Was meticulously clean, and welcoming with our own bottle of champagne and snacks ready to be enjoyed. As we explored the grounds everything was perfectly manicured and tidy, from the gardens, to the pool, to the tranquil beach! It felt like we were in a dream! Now… food, drink in service. FLAWLESS! As a vegetarian couple, the chefs and staff made sure we always had plenty of options and everything was to our liking. The food was so fresh, delicious and everyday something new! Also- if you mention anything you’d like to try, it’s on your plate for you next meal! *Wink wink - thanks for our plantain*. Drinks were always tasty - from the morning fresh juices/smoothies to our evening cocktails, we were always beyond satisfied. Last recommendation- you MUST talk to Simeon to set up an excursion! He set us up with our own personal sail boat, amazing crew, lunch, sail around the island, then a visit to the volcano mud bath, waterfall and epic snorkeling location!! It was truly the best day!!! This was the best trip we’ve taken, and it’s truly because of the staff! Simeon, Titus, Janelle, Sylvia, Junius, Windell, Lilly, Yellow, Kirby, Porky, Chef, Joe… and everyone else! I’m not sure I can add very much to the splendid previous reviews for July 2021. Our 15 night stay more than exceeded our expectations. This year we learned to sail the small catamaran (at our age, no mean achievement). On one sailing occasion, Charms decided we should be rescued. Being saved by either Joe or Junior is a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat! We also opted to go on the sunset cruise, hosted by the effervescent Simeone. That was great fun and we discovered Junias has a wonderful voice, singing us back into Rodney Bay, in the failing light. We have been to East Winds before and always found it a truly marvellous experience and wondered how covid rules would change things. East Winds implements a very thorough Covid protocol that has virtually no impact on guests and reassures any who may have anxieties. There are hand sanitiser dispensers in several locations. Room 2 has been converted into a potential isolation area should anyone get sick and is where the visiting nurse takes a swab for your predeparture covid test. The resort organises the test and was at no charge. The process is efficient and the result comes back the same day. This test is required to get back into the UK (and I understand the US). Guest temperatures are taken at breakfast and lunch, using an infrared thermometer. Patrisca now provides excellent and entertaining service at the pool bar (the pre-covid pool bar was self-service). All meals are served at the table. As the service is excellent, this is probably an improvement. However, we did miss going up to the grill to collect food on barbecue evenings. Chef Tadej and his team always maintained a high standard. We liked the guest website, allowing us to see daily lunch and dinner menus and wine list, amongst other things. The protocol requires staff only to wear face masks. This is obviously a significant burden in a tropical climate. The negative for guests is you can’t see their wonderful smiles but masks didn’t dampen  infectious laughter, particularly of Junias, Sylvia and Patrisca and indeed others. To enter St Lucia, a negative PCR test is required. We used Express Test - Gatwick drive through, on the Monday before flying to St Lucia on the Friday. You must also register to travel with St Lucia and email your test result. They then send an authorisation to travel. We had not been abroad for 21 months and, being older, were a bit nervous we could navigate the covid bureaucracy but it all worked out very well. It was soooo worth it! We had missed East Winds very much and can’t wait to return. Thanks to all at East Winds for giving us a marvellous holiday (again)!

Wow.. just wow! What a very special place East Winds is! A hidden gem full of nothing but pure happiness. We honestly had two weeks of a lifetime at this hotel and only have brilliant things to shout about it. First of all, the staff.. they are so personal and they made our whole stay and experience one that we will never forget. So we want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone at East Winds but especially Windel, Sylvia, Septima, Junias, Titus, Patricsca, Joe, Eugene, Kirby, Kerwin, Ellie, Lily, Selma and Sylvanus - you guys are incredible! Next thing is the food, Tadej, your food is on another level and we ate like kings and queens everyday. Not to mention the wine, we love how it changed every night and also how you could ask for any drink at any time and it tasted amazing. We felt totally taken cared of and everyone at East Winds made nothing too much trouble. We loved the size of the hotel and the closeness of everyone there. It’s like one big family. When you’re there you feel like you’re in your own bubble of pure jungle paradise, we stayed in the cottages which were gorgeous and so unique! The water sports were great fun and Joe and Eugene were fantastic. We took the sailing boat out, the kayaks and the paddle boards and it was great fun. I can’t brag enough about this place. From the moment we got to the hotel to the moment we left it felt like a dream. Our first stay which felt like the 20th with the warm welcome received from the amazing staff who make you feel like family at East Winds! And writing this whilst Covid restrictions are at different stages around the world, if you are pondering should I go or not? - if your country allows you to travel then the East Winds Hotel, staff and St Lucia take your health and well being very seriously. We felt completely at ease through our entire stay! As a family of four with 2 children aged 15 and 12 yrs old we stayed in Deluxe Cottages connected by the terraces that ensured ample space whilst maintaining the feeling of being together. There was ample space for clothes, (room safe will fit most standard laptops too) etc, beds were very comfortable and the daily room maid service was of a very high standard; we requested mosquito nets be hung .. nothing was ever a problem for the staff to make out stay the best experience). The cottages are set in lush botanical gardens with humming birds and countless other birds and 99+ different species of trees, shrubs, plants all of which are managed by the incredible Sylvanus (thank you for hanging bird feeders on each terrace and the wonderful garden tour .. highly recommend!) The cottage door locks had issues a couple of times which were resolved immediately by the equally amazing Randolf, Carrington and maintenance team. The pool, bar, restaurant and beach was a short - beautiful - leisurely 1 minute walk from our cottages. The property layout allows everyone some private space and there were more than enough sun loungers with beach gazebo's during our 2 weeks here with occupancy that felt like 25-50%; even when full I can imagine there is place to rest, enjoy and sip one of the out of this world cocktail drinks mixed and served by Windel, Junias, Patrisca, Kerwan, Kirby, Sylvia and other members of this staff super team. It takes less than 30 seconds to move between the beautiful pool and beach - enough time to think about what drinks to order! Afternoon tea is served about 4pm 'ish which is a lovely touch too; there is a great all day menu if required however breakfast, lunch and dinner should meet most peoples needs. I read other reviews from the past when breakfast and lunch were buffet service, currently you place the orders are table served whilst you enjoy your drink of choice (excellent Lavazza coffee and the wide choice of quality wines - which change daily and matched to the lunch/dinner menus - are beautiful .. taste before you decide too!) The food menus offer something for everyone, and if you have specific requests then nothing is too much trouble for Chef Tadej and his team (Thank you for creating dishes for our children!) Table service was excellent too, whether that be water, wine, serving meals and course changes. I must highlight the exceptional lunchtime steel pans (twice weekly) and daily evening entertainment of live musicians (Dien Thomas - the late 'Prince' would give you a standing ovation too for your Purple Rain, and, Tomlin Sydney - I bet your voice is as good as you play the piano!) Worth noting, I would describe East Winds as discreet elegance, relaxing, fun, enjoyable, beautiful .. I can keep going - but if you seek nightly parties and loud music, etc then perhaps look to other resorts who offer these experiences. You can also request to have your meal in one of the gorgeous dining gazebo's, we enjoyed lunch in these but dinner is possible too. And a huge thanks to the restaurant 'family team' of Elie, Selma, Sylvia, Windel, Junias and Titus. You choose how active or not you want to be in this special property. There is a good range of water sports including hobbie cats, paddle boards, kayaks and snorkelling and you are looked after by the wonderful Joe and Junior (who will give you sailing lessons, take you for a sail and just make your experience truly special). The hobbie cat sailing became an almost daily therapy, I recommend sailing south to the next bay where there is more constant wind and coming back to the back note the winds changes direction a few times .. its just the way it is! The beach itself is calm, or was for our entire stay, with well marked out safe swim areas; its flanked by reefs either end which have a few fish to see when snorkelling from the beach but take care to stay away from the sea urchins in these areas. There is also a fitness trail with outdoor workout areas (the gym is currently closed due to Covid restrictions) and a truly beautiful dedicated Yoga and Pilates Pavillion. My wife and I tried Pilates for the very first time and Nikita is outstanding - helpful, , makes you feel at ease, knowledgeable and passion for the subject - you are a secret star! Highly recommend these 8am classes. We also ventured off property with a sail to the Pitons under Captain Nico and his crew on a 50 foot Benetteau which is well maintained and very sea worthy. We designed our day that included a short trip to the waterfall (can do the sulphur springs if you choose too), lunch anchored off sugar beach bang between the pitons and snorkelling - what a day to remember! Thank you Captain Nico and Simeon for arranging. We also had 2 visits to Rodney Bay with wonderful taxi drivers all arranged by the hotel. (oh, and I have to mention my dream ticket of attending the WI v's Australia T20 Cricket match in St Lucia when The Boss - Chis Gayle - was on 'Gayle Storm Form'! Applause to Cricket St Lucia for safe protocols too). It would be remiss not to mention the incredibly charming 'Charms' - very special thanks for our lovely conversations and always being on hand to help. And Natasha, thanks too for your help and support which was always appreciated. Due to a water pipe leak under our cottages we had to move rooms just before our departure and we were upgraded to the Beach front rooms which were equally beautiful (we did like our deluxe sunken shower and rooms though ... Julius and team - thank you for moving us!) A true feeling of 'feeling like being at home', came about with the invite to walk 'Coco' the dog - a very special treat indeed. Our family dined at East Winds in December 2017, that was a wonderful few hours which set the seed to stay here one day. We have now experienced what many others have done before us (and written the countless excellent reviews) by staying 14 very memorable days and nights at East Winds St Lucia. East Winds property and each member of staff who dedicate your every moment to guest experience - you are secret gems and we are truly grateful for all you give. You helped make our holiday very special. Our sincere thanks! (Its also worth noting that 2hrs before the scheduled arrival, our flight was diverted to Antigua on the outward leg as a hurricane was passing right over St Lucia. When we did arrive to East Winds a day later, you would not have known a hurricane had just visited - hats off to the team! And kudos to BA who arranged all Antigua accommodation, transfers, etc within 2hrs)
