My husband works very hard so that we can enjoy nice holidays. We have as a consequence been to many super places around the world. These have included not only the Caribbean but also many visits to the US, the Maldives, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa together with much of Europe. Both my husband and I would say that...

Before considering a holiday at Anse Chastanet, I would advise that you ask yourself the following: (1) Do I consider the proximity of tree frogs, the occasional lizard and an army of cheeky birds who want to share my breakfast an enhancement to my holiday? (2) Do I want to escape from children (my own and/or other people's)? (3) Do...

We traveled here for a friend's wedding that was held at Jade Mountain, the sister property. (Special Note: My friend had planned and paid for getting married at AC, but when the hotel saw how many people came to stay at their hotel for this wedding, they graciously surprised her with a free upgrade to a wedding ceremony on the...

Overall the resort was ok. Food was great. I would only go back in the cooler months but then the water would be too cold for diving.

There are few more glorious sounds than drifting off to sleep in your two walled room high on the Anse Chastenet property listening to a local band belting out the hits of Bob Marley – the rhythm section being the pounding waves crashing onto the beach far below. In the morning as the sun rises over the Caribbean the rhythm...

The location of this hotel and the corresponding views are stunning. Every room is unique and special. The beach is extremely well maintained. The water is superb. It was also the best snorkeling experience I have ever had when going in right off the shore. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. The only knock on the hotel, and the...

My husband and I traveled here for our honeymoon in May 2011 and it was absolutely spectacular. The rooms to stay in are 7A or 7E, by far the best and most private. We stayed in 7A and didn't hear a peep from other rooms the whole time we were there. We did the total romance package and i think...

The Anse Chastanet could be perfect if some minor details were worked out. We stayed for 2 weeks before the Anse Chastanet added the rooms with the private pools. They look like they would be amazing. I am not sure the trip there ( travel time) would be worth it. Our trip from the states was an all day event....

Our first visit to this island. We rented a car at the airport because we were suppose to check out a property on the north end for a family member. The last segment of the road going into Anse Chastenet was slow going and I did not relish going back out to the main road; thus I only traversed the...

From the minute we go there to the minute we left this place was fantastic! Breathtaking views of the Pitons, quiet, accommodating, fantastic snorkelling, fresh food. They thought of everything from the mosquito rings in the room to water delivered every day. The staff were amazing and so welcoming and helpful. It left us with a great impression of the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tranquility, Romance, Adventure: What were Caribbean hotels like when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find that Classic Caribbean at Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia’s quiet southwestern coast where two magical peaks, the Pitons, leap from the sea and the mountains are covered with luminous greenery.Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy believes passionately in nature. So he created a hotel that makes the foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song an integral part of your vacation experience. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. With such a unique setting as his canvas, Nick Troubetzkoy was inspired to design a one -of-a-kind resort. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tip toe up a flower decked hillside, taking advantage of the captivating scenery all around. Anse Chastanet’s ever growing art collection provides a visual feast of its own. There are impressive wooden sculptures and plaques, earthy burlap compositions, painted “sky ceilings” and vibrant acrylic paintings invoking memories of Matisse and Picasso. And while the sensuous seclusion of the rooms provides some guests with the perfect excuse for lolling away the day on the balcony, others head out to partake in the many activities on offer; yoga, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, sunset sailing, sea kayaking or jungle biking, hiking and bird-watching among the ruins of an 18th century colonial plantation. ... more   less
