Wifi is free and dogs are welcome . If you're after some river action - kayaking, canoeing or whitewater rafting - Tyn Cornel Camping gives you access to white water just a few metres from your pitch and it's a short riverside walk to the National White Water Centre. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well located site with friendly staff. Pitch was large and had pitch side parking. We had electric hook up and our pitch faced the river so had no one opposite which was lovely. Showers were clean but they are the push button ones that turn off after set times. These are really impractical with small children. My 2 youngest couldn't press the button themselves so had to shower with us and having to keep pressing the button whilst showering young children is not ideal! It was pretty bad weather while we were there and the campsite track gets very muddy. Worth being mindful off. Great base for exploring and would certainly stay again. Very quiet and plenty of space for the kids to play. Shop is very small though so best to turn up prepared.

Due to our dog becoming suddenly very ill and needing surgery we had to cancel the day before. We asked if there was anyway of moving the booking to a different date but were told no. We had paid in full in advance and for extras but were told that none of it would be refunded even though we could send evidence from the vets of what we were going through. Make sure you book travel insurance if you go here. Our friends were still able to go and told us that the wifi on site was poor and that they wish they had known to pack plenty of midge repellent.

This site is in a beautiful location, the river is stunning and the walk to the white water rafting centre is amazing. The site- needs improvement… we stayed 7 nights the turnaround of pitches is high and no maintenance was done to the pitches in between. Other campers had removed the ‘shared picnic benches from under the little covered areas, yes, every single picnic bench for the week we stayed was! People can be so selfish… We where down in the very bottom half, the electric hook up in the bottom field area where extension leads run through the trees… shared with people in the top field- we had ours unplugged twice by campers in the top half… very irritating! The staff that we saw on site where helpful and friendly but not around much. The toilet ‘block’ with one male and one female toilet that is located on the tent pitch side isn’t big enough for the size of the tent pitch area- the washing up area in the other side was nice but water barely warm every time we went to use it- The main shower blocks are adequate but nothing special. 3 showers for the whole of the site, it is busy a lot of the time! The laundry facilities- don’t bother! Old fashioned 50p coin only machines- it’s really expensive and the drum on the washer is tiny. WiFi is present but doesn’t reach the tent camping pitches you can only really pick it up at the main shower block. Even then half the time it said no internet web when we where connected so don’t count on it. Zero phone service either till you get back into Bala. Over all this site is ok, It’s definitely aimed at getting as many pitches in as possible and the thought for the customers experience lacking. I will say it was always clean and tidy the bins emptied really regularly with the showers and toilets cleaned very often.

This is our first time camping in this campsite, we wont be coming back!!! i found it very cramped and your like so close to another tent. There is a toilet block for male and female. But very dirty full of cobwebs i dont think they clean it. The shower facilities for men, no doors only curtains. So most people i spoke to is they are using disabled toilet because it has door and a little chair that you can put your things on. Ladies toilet has got door but very small cubicles , your clothes will be all wet after shower because theres not much to hang your clothes. Theres a little shop in the office, if you are camping here , bring loads of citronella candle, repellent sprays. Because midgies will swarm you with bites. Small Tea lights there cost you 50p each. Not a very nice campsite in all honesty.

This is a large site with good facilities for families. The site has a coffee and milk vending machine plus an ice cream one. Also an on site shop with friendly staff. There is a very large site designated for football and other activities. You can have fire bowls free of charge as long as you buy the site logs. There is also a nice touch with picnic benches with a canopy over them for when the rain comes. All sounds idyllic and why the poor rating? The site is crammed and there is no space between the Tent’s The site accept large groups of people. We had a 30 plus French school kids who were very loud but they was quiet after 11pm Then Friday came with the site then at its max capacity. One toilet block with one female toilet and one men’s toilet. This is not enough to cope with both fields of tent campers. There is another block with more toilets which is further away. The showers were small and not private and nowhere to put toiletries. The toilets in the main block are hard to get in and out of As the toilet roll holder restricts access. The toilets/ showers are very clean so a plus for that. We had kids next to our tent playing football, got tiring our tent and car and the parents were busy getting drunk with there vast amount of friends so we had to police there children! The noise from this huge party was unbearable! To me the owners should come out at 11pm to make sure everyone is abiding by the rules and also not being LOUD. No we are not party poopers but expect a campsite not to be like Ibiza!! This was stressful and not a relaxing time! And another big negative there are no views!!!!

Returned to this campsite this year with some friends and we stayed in one of the pods. I cannot recommend this camping site highly enough - stunning scenery and well maintained, friendly staffother dca, immaculate showers, toilet blocks and washing up area and just a short drive away from Bala.

It's been six years since we first visited this campsite. I am pleased to say that nothing has changed. The washrooms and show blocks were immaculate. Not for the first time we were witness to irresponsible dog owners not keeping their mutts under control as during the night some idiot let their dog urinate up my tent, if I knew which one it was I would have returned the favour.

Done lots of camping in the past, but first time glamping. Clearly I set my expectations too high as was disappointed with the site. Upon arrival at the tent, it was obvious it had not been prepared properly. The bin from the previous guests had not been emptied, the log baskets had not been topped up and a door was hanging off the cupboard. The firepit was full of debris from previous use and had a fair bit of water in there which made the first night using the firepit alot harder than it should have been. We had to spend £12 on two bags of logs when we got there, the lady on the desk seem quite surprised we were buying logs as logs should have enough provided but as mentioned above, the logs had not been topped up. I was quite looking forward to the log stove in the tent itself but this was not fit for purpose. One, it is too small for the space you are trying to keep warm and Two, you can only really put kindling in there and not logs due to the size. Shame they only provided us with mostly logs, so pretty useless without an axe to break the logs up. Spent £3 the next day on a bag of kindling from Bala and thus worked better. So first experience of glamping, probably the last.

Stayed here for a week after the schools had gone back. Was lovely, so quiet, got busy on the weekend as is right next to the white water centre but it never felt too busy or over crowded. Hot showers, clean toilets, walks by the river, dog friendly, laundry facilities, fridge and freezer use, fire pit hire, and even ice cream vending machine with everything in it inc vegan and dog friendly choices. Lovely owners too always available for any issues. They even have lizards that live somewhere outside the toilet block. Saw them on several occasions 😍.

Just 3 of us stayed last weekend, a riverside pitch, gorgeous views, very tranquil and peaceful. Clean and well kept facilities and surroundings. Very friendly hosts. Lovely steam train ride close by, Bala has plenty of take away choices of you don't fancy cooking. Perfect if you just want to switch off from a busy world for a while.
